Holmgren at 18 yrs old has Incredible court sense, very HIGH basketball IQ, is a Great passer and could set records for shots blocked this year and every year in the NBA...ALSO Holmgren can shoot threes like a shooting guard . NONE of the guys you mentioned were effective more than 12 feet from the rim !. If Holmgren stays healthy he will be a Monster in the NBA.
Johnny Zujhang hasnt played any good since the NCAA's. Dude had terrible NBA workouts so he returned to UCLA and just has not found his shooting stroke since..
Not true...That's simply an tired argument used by those who don't know much about Mens college basketball...the WCC or Gonzaga...Their schedule this year playing Texas...UCLA...and Duke all in Nov. is reflective of the challenging schedule they play every year and have for decades. Zag Up....Go Zags.
Gonzaga has a heavy front-loaded schedule every year. They schedule tough out of conference games on the road or on neutral courts to compensate for their conference being relatively easy. The argument that they "dont play anyone" has never been true. They just play all their difficult games early, which I actually thinks hurts them come tourney time because they forget how to grind out wins against tough opponents after coasting to blowout wins the last month and a half of the season.
Reading the comments reinforces that most casual fans don't watch and understand the game of basketball. UCLA was missing their starting center Cody Riley. They were forced to play his backup extended mins and also had to play their 4th string big against argubably the best frontline in the naton. That isn't gonna cut it. UCLA played poorly, the refs were horrible and it just wasn't their night. No excuses but all of this talk of UCLA being overrated is beyond ridiclous. They beat a top 5 team in Vilanova earlier this season. Gonzaga was trapping UCLA's high pick and roll all night long because the UCLA bigs were no offensive threat. You can't do that with Riley on the floor. Missing him threw off the spacing and the Bruins player began to press and play hurried offensively. UCLA will be fine. They should be a 1 or 2 seed in the tourney and will challenge for a PAC 12 title. I really want a rematch in the tourney with a healthy UCLA sqaud.
Excellent analysis. Note also that after falling behind 30-10 early, UCLA adjusted and played Gonzaga essentially even for the remainder of the game. They just couldn't make up the initial 20-point deficit.
the officiating favored UCLA for sure. The first seven fouls called in the 2nd half were against the zags. The officials did everything to give UCLA a chance. UCLA conceded by having jacquez take it inside everytime. You can't beat gonzaga unless you shoot a high volume of 3's and make alot. The zags have alot more athleticism and length than any team they have put on the floor so guarding the 3 was easy. UCLA attempted only 12 and made 2 or 3 of them. Also you can't trap this team and expect to force enough turnovers to come back. That would speed play up and that is exactly what the zags. Kudos to UCLA for slowing game down to at least them play them about even in 2nd half and avoid being beat by over 30. Texas tried the same thing but, couldn't force turnovers with nembard on floor 40 minutes. BTW, he played 40 in this game.
@@caseyhouser9839 Yeah it is clear you don't understand basketball and didn't watch the UCLA-Gonzaga game last season. It also obvious that you have no idea that Kenneth Nwuba should never see the floor against a team like Gonzaga. Great rebutal tho...
first time I see basketball court in America with all advertising above court like Europe, I don't like it, and with double three-point line, disaster, America I don't recognize you
im sorry but Gonzaga needs to be forced to join the pac 12 or something, its a joke they get a bye to the tourney every year and thats prolly why they never win the title because they go 3 months without being challenged. I know they play tough non conference games, does ya no good when they are aLL IN november and december and ya go the tourney without a tough game in 3 months.
No point joining a different conference. Gonxaga has won the most tournament games of any school in the last decade, they’re getting deep into the tournament consistently and they’re landing top recruits and getting players to the NBA. Whatever they’re doing, it works. “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”
Good idea, force them to join a Power 5 even though they don't have a football team!!! Maybe the Big East even, who cares if they're on the west coast. Maybe the Mt. West, because, you know, UNLV and Nevada! It's horrible seeing competition for P5 teams outside of their conference because that never made anyone better. How about the P5 conferences step up like the WCC is? Make those coaches and athletic directors do their jobs instead of relying on illegal Adidas scholarships and bribes. Yeah, it's GU's conference that's the problem, practice, hard working defensive, high output offense, and hard working recruiters is the problem. Built from nothing, a team that almost dropped out of D1 athletics. This conference argument is a joke and contradicts with your reasoning as to why they don't win title. Keep your excuses, nothing is ever good enough for the spoiled, entitled P5 fanboys.

Adam Morrison?
imagine Holmgren guarding Shaq or Wilt or Jabbar
You are not seeing the whole picture here.......Ok Imagine Holmgren in his 5th year in the NBA and those 3 guys as college players......... Sorry to say Chet has the potential to out do them all. Those three Great players you mentioned could NOT handle the ball like Holmgren.
Yikes. As a Duke fan all I can say is yikes. I hope this Gonzaga team doesn't show up Friday. Yikes.
Johnny Zujhang hasnt played any good since the NCAA's. Dude had terrible NBA workouts so he returned to UCLA and just has not found his shooting stroke since..
Wow the refs did a awesome job for Duke tonight was it me or did Duke get every call in the paint Zags couldn't sneeze without getting a foul
Big Men can shoot 3's t w o.
Ok right now gonzaga is the favorite but until I see it happen in the championship game I'm still skeptical.
As you should be. Anyone who makes championship predictions this early is a fool.
Jennifer Walters has entered the chat and she is angry. 😡
Zags play no one they say 😂
Zags can’t keep up with the big teams they say 😂
Not true...That's simply an tired argument used by those who don't know much about
Mens college basketball...the WCC or Gonzaga...Their schedule this year playing
Texas...UCLA...and Duke all in Nov. is reflective of the challenging schedule they
play every year and have for decades.
That still would have got wrecked. One mediocre player doesn’t change anythiNG
@@caseyhouser9839 Yeah it is clear you don't understand basketball and didn't watch the UCLA-Gonzaga game last season. It also obvious that you have no idea that Kenneth Nwuba should never see the floor against a team like Gonzaga. Great rebutal tho...
@@alanfoster6589 Thank you. That's a good point. You can't spot Gonzaga 20 points. They are way too good
Chet "the Bone Cracks" Holmgren is overrated.
He's skilled like Porzingis but gets injured a lot just like Porzingis.

Glad they lost dam bums didn't have cheating reffs time difference wasn't an issue and it was a mutual site unlike the Nova game smh
Early in the year but it looks like UCLA got exposed
It’s just a matter of time before Zags get exposed, like last year vs UCLA and Baylor.😄
im sorry but Gonzaga needs to be forced to join the pac 12 or something, its a joke they get a bye to the tourney every year and thats prolly why they never win the title because they go 3 months without being challenged. I know they play tough non conference games, does ya no good when they are aLL IN november and december and ya go the tourney without a tough game in 3 months.
BYU is tough though, but yeah other than them its a cakewalk…Gonzaga can’t join the pac 12 having no football program
BYU + St Mary would be top 3 PAC 12 teams this year. BYU might actually be better than any PAC12 team this year... Look at that Oregon game.
WCC is better than the PAC12

@@boardhead6720 ucla was an average team last year and had a miracle run in the tourney that should have never happened if Michigan state didn’t choke in the 1st round. UCLA has zero elite talent and people think because juzang had 5 good games last year that he’s some kind of superstar. The fact that they are ranked 2nd in the country is pure comedy. Gonzaga will finish first like they do every year because they play the softest schedule in college but that team is significantly worse than last year but people will continue to peg them as champs every though we’ve seen this same story year after year, they’re completely reliant on scoring 90 a game but that doesn’t happen against good teams come tourney time
@@boardhead6720 but to answer your question Purdue, Memphis and Arizona are all complete teams that ucla and Gonzaga would both lose to. And if Gonzaga played a power 5 conference schedule they wouldn’t be unanimous number 1 throughout the year like they are every year
