Welcome such friendly foreign friends to visit Beijing. China has countless beautiful natural scenery and historical sites, various styles of food, friendly people and good public security environment, is a paradise for all travel lovers.
Great vlog! A proverb known as "Chen Zhong Mu Gu" (晨钟暮鼓 in Chinese characters) is commonly used, which literally translates to 'ringing the bell in the morning and beating the drum in the evening'. This proverb originated from a ceremony practiced by Buddhist monks in ancient China at the Buddies Temple. Traditionally, the monks would ring the bells first and beat the drum second in the morning, while in the evening, they would beat the drum first and ring the bells second (Maybe reminding themselves to promote self-reflection). This is why, in Chinese Buddies Temples, it is common to find a towel for bells accompanied by a towel for drums. Over time, this proverb has come to signify "utterances that aid in our promotion and seriousness."
So suprised and glad to see you take photos of the local people. Travelling is not only about scenaries and tourist attractions, but also people and culture behind that.
I want to travel to Beijing again! I spent a week in Beijing this January but Beijing is too big to explore the whole scenery 😢 and I think that the skating on Kunming Lake in the Summer Palace is the most interesting ☺️
I really like this lady, she is gentle and elegant, and must have received a good education. I hope you enjoy your time in China, and share both the good and the bad.
I have been in the United States for ten years. I often tell my American friends that you should travel to China and feel the real China. Welcome to China!❤
I disagree. I made my best effort regarding China. I even learned Mandarin up to HSK 4 prior to traveling, twice, for a grand total of one months travel time. However, I do not recommend China beyond the traveler that has more boxes to check. The Positives: Chinese people are smart, they obey the law and you are generally very safe from crime. The Chinese government has zero tolerance. Bravo. The tea is supreme. Lastly, there are some profound historic sites and preserves of culture. The Negatives: China is filthy. The people on average suffer yet are ambitious. Lots of quick and dirty sales mentalities. Doing things cheap (and often sloppy) seems to be the pervasive mentality. While this has improved, it is still pervasive. Lastly, China is not easily accessible. They very much have their own system of doing everything (money, buying tickets, etc.), which is fair, they can and maybe should do so. However, making all the efforts to approach it are not worth it. Note, the fact that there is a comment saying "I am from Hong Kong, China", shows this comments section is littered with paid actors. Hong Kong people, while I agree are Chinese, do not like to see themselves as such.
As a Chinese , we very welcome to foreigners, we always encourage people to visit and explore China themselves, get your own answers instead of just over trust the mainstream media (always play politics)

0:58 Actually, most public service vehicles are electric, only 20% of private cars are electric (those with green plates). Noise reduction comes from the use of electric scooters and strict regulations on fossil fuel cars.
Those elders with big lenses, steady tripods, taking photos of the flowers, we call them "senior sorcerers"(老法师). They usually are retired, and have plenty of time to kill. They are wealth enough to afford high end equipments. So many of them chose photography as their major hobby, to spend time, give them a motivation to travel around as workout, receiving satisfaction from pictures they take as rewords. For juniors in these days, they take photos with phones, convenient and quick.
That was a pleasant treat. I saw this video in my YT feed. So I watched the whole thing. I loved that you took snapshots of local people and tourists. That put a smile on my face. Unlike some other travel vlogs, where they claim that in the name of spontaneity they refrain from any research in advance, you guys are prepared with help information. Thank you.
Before you came to China, I believe many people told you that various aspects of China were not good. However, after you visited Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Shanghai, and Anhui, you grew to love these places and the people there. The same will be true for Xinjiang, Henan, and Shaanxi; once you visit, you will love them too. Trust your own eyes, not the lies of others.

@@desidoLU Sorry, but the survey is conducted by a third party and is anonymous. Our company never laid-off any Chinese employees, despite moving our production back to the US in 2018. None of the employees lost a day of work as we simply set up a new joint venture with our Chinese parter. And nobody forced the Chinese workers to take they survey; yet, amazingly 100% of them did, and they all lied. We were told by the Chinese managers that people there can be very suspicious of surveys; not because they didn't trust the American managers, but because of their history with their own own government. Apparently living under autocratic governments for centuries affects how people view authority.

The best way to experience China is always having a proper visa. But in cases you can not wait that long, take advantage of the 144 transit visa. Now take the advantage of that, Hong Kong and Macau belong to China but they are considered “out of boarder”, so you can plan your trip like, flying into China, say from France to Beijing, visit the city with the 144 transit visa with a ticket to Hong Kong; then book a flight from Hong Kong to Shanghai to Macau, so you have another 144 hrs in Shanghai; and then a ticket from Macau to xi’an to Hong Kong... But this whole trip can be really expensive 😂😂 oh keep in mind the 144 hrs start from 12AM the next day of your arrival date. Say I arrive on 2nd, 1AM in the morning, my timer won’t start until 12 AM of 3rd. So I get extra 23 hrs.

China is a great country. You will have many surprises when you come here.

So suprised and glad to see you take photos of the local people. Travelling is not only about scenaries and tourist attractions, but also people and culture behind that.
Absolutely!
And she has so much knowledge about China and Chinese culture. She is absolutely well educated.
I have been in the United States for ten years. I often tell my American friends that you should travel to China and feel the real China. Welcome to China!❤
Welcome to China!Wish you a happy life.

0:58 Actually, most public service vehicles are electric, only 20% of private cars are electric (those with green plates). Noise reduction comes from the use of electric scooters and strict regulations on fossil fuel cars.
It’s now a lot of more than 20% private cars are electric especially in Beijing. It’s more like 60% cars are electric cars.

@@davidgmaloof The culture is different. Chinese people don’t like to speak ill of others. And our goal is to make money. Obviously the money we made has met our expectations. Is there anything else we need to find fault with?Everyone can keep their own opinions. Just like if you don't look good, I will say you are cute. Why do you have to tell me that you are ugly?
@@davidgmaloof ture, but younger people in China tend to be more open in such situations
@@davidgmaloof This means your survey is not anonymous, and employees are afraid of telling the truth and getting laid off, since American companies lay off employees so frequently.

You did the great job to take the pictures for local people. Enjoy in BJ.
