Are you kidding me? This is the best live band I've encountered in ages. This band is beyond awesome! First of all, I've never seen anyone cover Rapper's Delight live, let alone white people. This guy's flow is flawless! He nails it, I mean, his version rivals the original. I stumbled on this as a fluke, totally random, but it lifted my spirits somehow. If I would have been at that party, I would have been all up on that dance floor. I can't sit still when a live band with a funky ass bass-- and a rapper who never misses a beat--is doing their thing right there in front of me. How people can be sitting around and not shakin' their groove things, I'll never understand. This band is top shelf: I'd hire them for any event. SO much fun. That guy has more talent than many some rappers out there on the airwaves today.
Yeah, the early rap and hip-hop was new and fun. Not like now. The younger generation refer to some of their music as " mumble rap" and that's not a real compliment of their music according to my 22 year old nephew. It's more like frustration that most new music is crap. No feeling and no creativity, no content and no instrument playing.
Hold on hold on there little tender foot.. Don't get your panties all tide in a knot. That type of rap is really easy. It's just flowing. You just feel the rhythm and go with it. So calm down. 🤣
@@hotlatino7220 Sorta - By that I mean agree about its simple beat, yet you could also say it is long & winding lyrically, so there’s a LOT to memorize - and the phrasing and diction are novel, but still have to be spot-on and tonally correct, so there’s that…while I’m here I want to complement the bassist: the whole song revolves around it, IMHO
Very true, I saw a band in London the guitarist was near deaths door could hardly walk and was old but my God when he played the guitar 🎸 it was Jimmy hendrix, it taught me never to judge anybody !!!!!!!!
The bass player knows how to play it, have to admit it this was a great effort by the vocalist and also show's respect for original artists! We need more peace in our corrupted world .
I just got here randomly.. and I must say.. this guy is amazing along with the band! His rap is spot on.. What a great rendition! Sounds almost as good as the original!
Just about everyone back then knew this jam. One of the first early rap/hip-hop songs. Y'all best Believe a lot us us younger seniors can remember the words better than we can remember where we left our car keys.
Love how they fused the 2 songs together... awesome!!! You would never know these were 2 different songs if you didn't know the 2 songs... this was great!!!
This guy can spit out some rap! Great sound, but what is really amazing is how they seamlessly threw 3 songs together and it WORKED! Everybody is SAVAGE in this group! I wish I lived near so I could see in person.
@@markanenberg you're very welcome. I'm nearing my 60's so I grew up on those songs. Plus my mom and dad and grandma worked at the old RCA records procssing plant in Indianapolis, IN so they occasionally got to bring home lp's and 45's. It was nice!!
This Guy (and the Band) amazes me. HOW does he REmember all those words? I can Barely remember my Address, let alone all these Lyrics. Wish I could do that.
About 20 year's ago I was in a London city pub at lunchtime, guys all suited and booted, secretaries in hall rimmed glasses and heels, the pub was pretty quiet, suddenly Rappers Delight popped up on the juke box, slowly people started tapping there feet and twitching to the rhythm, pretty soon the whole place erupted into a full blown dance, best thing I've seen in year's, then the record ended and people went back to their drinks as if nothing had happened, surreal but great
I'm a musician myself...& that was very good guys. Even the background vocals are pretty darn good. 1 heck of a performance. Hopefully u all still together
I love this band and especially this rappers delight music❤
This is great, still bangs in 2024
It will forever.
Love how this guy’s rap !! And a good dad too
Chic "Good times" and Sugarhill Gang "Rapper's Delight" .
*Nice cover!!!* Greetings from Lima, Peru.
And a extract from RUN DMC "Walk this way"
the bass player killin' it!

I am listening to this with my mouth open. This guy is good. What you said is true.

Hey man , it's 2023 and I still love this rap song. It's really a Rapper"s Delight.
Good old times when things were simple and everybody knew how to have fun, love it!!!
This looks to be the coolest backyard BBQ ever! I should have been invited!
This was the Summer Solstice party and we did it for 19 years before Covid hit.
LOL. This is a good example as to why a person should never judge a book by it's cover.

Whoever replied with "Hello" deserves a Medal of Honor!
You know, the classic song and Chic's "Good Times" just blew our minds---they were so great and still are.
Buenísimo!
"Where are my children?!?!" Hahahahah!. His kids are: "Crap! Dad is going it again. Time to leave!"
wtf ? hahaha
I guess they were putting paper bags over thier heads "Daaaaaaaad ... that's so embarrassing!" :D
Well done, dad!
Let’s just say his kids missed a good show
I doubt his kids have a clue what a trail blazer this song was back in the day.
Es un padre fantástico... que no se vayan 😅
this guy is a savage i was not expecting that to sound this good
I mean MAN THIS WAS EXCELLENT! 12 years ago... def better times back then than they are now... I miss being young. I miss being middle aged... lol
I love how he changed voices for the different rappers 😂 excellent
The vocals are spectacular!
He's very good!!! Great to see white folks singing black music! Those songs are FIRE!!!
The bass player knows how to play it, have to admit it this was a great effort by the vocalist and also show's respect for original artists! We need more peace in our corrupted world .
Oh my word.... y'all killed it!!! Thank you for sharing!!!
Takes me 11yrs to see this video and you guys still made my day 👍🏼
That transition to good times was as smooth as homeboy rapping rappers delight, gawd dam
I just got here randomly.. and I must say.. this guy is amazing along with the band! His rap is spot on.. What a great rendition! Sounds almost as good as the original!
Yep.
Sugarhill Gang Rapper`s Delight put rap on the map for sure.
When the guitarist started rapping. I lost it. Awesome job !!
Wowww he killed it!
He is one of those guys who brave the hood to see the brothers jam in the parks in the 80s!!!!

As a Rapper's Delight great fan, I very appreciate your version.

I hope his kids are proud, because this is the coolest thing ever!! Dont dare stop, this is gold!
Poor kids, they go to school and say my dad can rap really cool. What, like Eminem - No like The Sugar Hill Gang. Who the hell is that? LMAO.
Thank you, RUclips algorithm for bringing me here! This is so fun! I love it!
Nice one.. smiling.
Sick in bed deep in the RUclips worm hole an I stumble upon this.... brought my spirit up...thanks!
Love how they fused the 2 songs together... awesome!!! You would never know these were 2 different songs if you didn't know the 2 songs... this was great!!!
this is an old disco mix they absolutely heard this on the radio 40yrs.
well they aren't really 2 different songs, as Rapper's delight ripped off Good Times (Rodgers got credit as co-author)
This guy can spit out some rap! Great sound, but what is really amazing is how they seamlessly threw 3 songs together and it WORKED! Everybody is SAVAGE in this group! I wish I lived near so I could see in person.
We are near San Jose, CA and are still playing this!
