Played this a ton as a kid. I could usually get to stage 3 on 1 quarter; just from playing the first few levels so many times. Then I ran out of lunch money for the rest of the game.
First time I ever played this was while waiting out a thunderstorm at Action Park (aka the water park that was so dangerous and hilariously irresponsible there’s a documentary about it: Class Action Park. I loved that place.)
I've actually cleared the 6-player version via emulation in the past, at AGDQ 2021, but it was on the PS3. Original hardware would be a logistical nightmare because it requires a mirrored setup, which is only truly possible in an original cab. It's likely not impossible, but the undertaking by everyone involved would be have to be quite large, and likely not worth it.
Jump attack depends on timing. If you want a dive attack, you need to wait until the jump reaches its apex before pressing attack. Otherwise, you get a hop attack instead. Throws are a bit trickier. They're range dependent and also have what's called a "cooldown" period, which means that after a successful throw, you can't throw again for X amount of frames/seconds (I forget how many exactly). Largely, I suggest getting used to the ranges for each character. Storm, Wolverine, and Dazzler (oddly) have longer ranges on their throws than Colossus, Nightcrawler, or Cyclops.
favorite character, wolverine, because that costume is to compensate he's short. The head thing, makes him taller, and the tiger stripe pattern, well it's obvious. Reading an older comic, Colossus had his metal skin removed, he was happy for a bit until he realized he was just insecure without it. Great comic and Great run.
The Metroid guys are called Mandroids. They use Iron Man suits to guard supervillains in the Vault.
I remember playing this when I was a kid. Wolverine was my main while my sister played Storm
Considering all the duplicated characters (Bonebreaker, Pyro, etc.) I have to suspect that Mr. Sinister was pulling the strings behind the scenes.

I see MetroidMaster is a Guilty Gear fan.

They said at the end, they were playing on original hardware.
How about a one credit clear on the double-wide SIX player version? SGDQ '24?

Is there any rhyme or reason to what type of jump attack you get or when you get a throw?
