A staff memeber got covid that a lot of people interacted with, hence the masks for the last two days. Also if you come to comment about that and that only, you are prob missing the point of charity events and how much i fucking slayed this run :)
i thought i’d have a hard time staying up until 5:00 am to see the entirety of gpb’s runs live, but the adrenaline was so high that i couldn’t fall asleep for another four hours after getting home. plus, gpb signed my attendee badge & took pictures with me. fuck yeah.
I sent an email to Miyamoto for clarification and got this response; "it was always our intention for yoshi to be a throw away friend for mario. We added him to the game much like someone adds a wrapper around a cheeseburger. It is helpful for when it needs transportation for one place to another but when it is time to enjoy, you throw it away. So if you need help getting around you may use the yoshi but once you are ready to enjoy the game you are supposed to discard it like a piece of trash."
Seeing that Poo made it back to a GDQ event just made my week (maybe even my whole month honestly!). He is such a wonderful player and performer, always ecstatic to see these runs!
What's insane is he paused to get the audience all riled up. The time GPB could have got is maybe a min or so lower without that, and for a live event run as big as this, it's insane.
I love how nobody is talkin about the fact that the legend himself, creator of the 20XX hack pack, Project M Link main, funny Doki Doki man Dan Salvato is on the couch
GPB, I always love your hype man. I love the callout to the fan in the start, I love your talking and encouragement of hype in the audience, I just love your whole vibes during this. The fact that you played some insane shit and did it amazingly is just the icing on the cake. GG!
This was an absolute blast to see in person! The crowd was in awe, that's why we were so quiet! It was also so dang early in the morning. Meeting Poo, his editor, the maker of the Iron Mon hall of Fame statues, the maker of this game, and everyone else was an honor (I'm terrible at names though). Thanks for an amazing birthday weekend! (This is AceyJay)
So quiet? XD Hahahaha! I hadn't noticed honestly. Y'all did a great job making plenty of noise! :D This was just super great to watch. And I'm so jealous that you were there. It's too far and too expensive for me, so I'm really glad that other people do go, enjoy the heck out of it, and just be in the crowd making noise. If I can't go, seeing people who are/were there and have a blast is the next best thing, so thanks :D And happy birthday! :D
Yeah, I'd like a special shout out for Shojou giving the exact right commentary at the right time, explaining little things, saying how stupid hard a thing is that we were looking at, things like that. But yeah, they all did an amazing job explaining things and hyping things up. But I really super appreciate those little inserts Shojou made. Literally every time I was wondering about something, she said/explained it a second later.
That was amazing. He really didnt get stuck at any point for more than like 20 seconds, and he got the crowd going like nothing else. What a run, what a guy.
Really wish I could have caught this live, sadly my schedule just didn't match up. Fan-frickin'-tastic run, GBP! Love how you worked the crowd, you're a great showman. Honestly you're the reason I got into the Mario community (well, watching people do rom hacks and Mario Maker at least) after I managed to catch one of your GDQ runs a few years back.
I've been watching Kaizo for a while now. I don't play but I love watching them. There's alot of creators out there but in my mind there's a few really good creators. This guy is one of them. This hack is really good and has great flow, difficulty, indicators, everything the player needs to not get lost. Or making the hack too easy or too hard. I must give credit where it's due! Keep on creating...and of course Poo kills it... :)
Holy moly Poo! One shotting so many of those ridiculously hard levels with insane jumps back to back! Radical! But that's not what I am commenting for. What I love most about this run is the old school vibe and the energy of you, your amazing fun and beautiful couch, and the enthusiastic audience, and of course the lady with the Poo shirt who has been waiting all day for this run!
Poo you're a fking awesome entertainer. YOu destroyed that game but also kept the whole playthrough fun and exciting. I'm hella pissed I missed it live
Cool to see GDQ back on the stage. Was a lot less fun watching people do it from home, especially with the... varying recording equipment people had access to.
I dig how Poo also likes the song "Mind's Eye" from the Tempest 2000 soundtrack (for the Judecca level). I learned about that song from an SMW fangame and absolutely love it.
yo, it's hard for me to truly appreciate how hard these romhacks are, cause all I know is they're WAYYYY above my skill level, but I totally believe it when you guys say it's harder than he makes it look, which is just insane. Definitely one of the runners you wanna see at every GDQ, GPB brings the skillz and the hype 1000%
Few runners match Poo's capacity for crowd work. Even after he tells them to make some noise tho, they just sit there calmly the gdq crowd is so polite. Baller move on the "four!" Guy following up with "thats ridiculously good, poo!"
i was a couple rows ahead of that guy in the crowd. you can’t always hear him on the vid, but he was counting every death & encouraging poo the whole run. legend
Had hoped to see this live but was knocked out. Thanks for sharing and congrats on that amazing run! (Also, what was the one other game that rivals this in terms of challenge that you started to mention at 1:58?)
It's in my top 3 for sure. Puwexil, sorry for butchering the name, doing FFIX and him and his couch explaining the entire story that was mashed through is my nr1, possibly forever because of Final Fantasy bias :p And Broshenka, again sorry for butchering the name, was there I think, and he wasn't here for this run, so there's that :p

😂😂
of course some one did, masks dont stop the spread
That was a thing of beauty. Incredible to watch 👌

@@wesgrubbs8437 THANK YOU.
GPB shouting out the fan wearing his shirt waiting for his run made my day. That's such a little thing but it must've made her entire year.
POOBear is top tier at gassing people up. He's just a good dude that likes shouting people out
This is why you get GPB in SGDQ, the energy he has in front of the camera! Love you man, keep it up!
Also his total mastery of the hardest tricks 4:25 two frame perfect
I love it when the game's creators get involved with the GDQ runs
I can always appreciate a runner who understands the assignment and lets the crowd make noise the entire run.
I can't believe PooBear defeated that boss in one attempt! Absolutely legendary!
He nearly injured Mario's foot on the crown. It was so close!
GPB is an absolute legend of performer. What a show!
i thought i’d have a hard time staying up until 5:00 am to see the entirety of gpb’s runs live, but the adrenaline was so high that i couldn’t fall asleep for another four hours after getting home. plus, gpb signed my attendee badge & took pictures with me. fuck yeah.
Imagine being this good at speedrunning AND crowd engagement???
Can't be a GDQ event without GPB, what a run!

I was in the crowd but I'm so impressed I'm watching it again.
When was this?
@@ColdAndBrew 330ish this morning.
Seeing Shouju without a Yoshi head is a trip.
This run was insane! As was your energy. Thanks GrandPooBear!
Absolutely love seeing GPB in front of a camera, so much energy and positiveness
"Everyone say bye, Yoshi!" Poo's dad instincts kicking in
Poo is such a great personality, love seeing him on the GDQ stage!!! What a man of the people
What's insane is he paused to get the audience all riled up. The time GPB could have got is maybe a min or so lower without that, and for a live event run as big as this, it's insane.
Toughest end boss I've seen. Didn't think you'd pull it off.
Uh actually it’s just a goomba 🤓

GG!
This whole run put a smile on my face from start to end. GG, GPB.

This run had a smile on my face the whole time. GPB is the goat of the crowd of the people of the Mario world. Thank you GPB for all you
Incredible run and incredible commentating crew

Absolutely mind boggling, just otherworldly crazy ..!! And GPB is an absolute treat when it comes to stage presence
That was amazing. He really didnt get stuck at any point for more than like 20 seconds, and he got the crowd going like nothing else. What a run, what a guy.
Love Poo getting people to donate for the final boss.
I tried to catch this live. Who decided to put the greatest run of the show at one of the latest hours of the night?
me too, watching the blindfold zelda run was fun tho. 👀
GDQ organizers pandering 🙃
@@fdsafdsafdsafdsafd Pandering to who??
They always did that, they want to end GDQ with the most hyped runs

Wow never seen this, But this blew my f'n MIND! Such a good run and skill displayed! LETS GOOOOOOOOO!!!
Absolutely love every single one of your runs, man. Your energy is the best, hands down. Amazing run, Poo! 🙏

This man is a pro gamer. Absolutely ridiculous skill.
Tell that to his 25.0 in ninji 2
You inspired me to give this hack a shot. I got past the first regrab shell jump 1 time in about an hour lmao. Your skills are nutty.
An amazing run and GPB being the peoples champion bringing the energy and getting the crowd going for it!

What a swag run dude, 11/10, love it.
I've been lax on following GDQ -- did not realize you were running this time around, and this just made my week!
Poo is always a highlight at GDQ events, truly an entertainer.
That interactable background layer level melted my brain. Someone should make a whole game about that.
This was a great run man. Absolutely loved it.
Yo this run was insane. Thanks for sharing it that early. Unfortunate I fell asleep after Mario Maker versus !
congrats man you crushed. I love to see how you handle interacting with the crowd and getting everyone excited about the run :)
Poo you're a fking awesome entertainer. YOu destroyed that game but also kept the whole playthrough fun and exciting. I'm hella pissed I missed it live
This was hype as hell and just such a perfect example of why I love your content. Keep doing you, Poo
11:47 Surely the music for this level is tipping that fedora to Unreal Tournament? ;)Surely
what a great video ! frankly, it was extremely impressive
I was SO hyped when I watched it live
Cool to see GDQ back on the stage. Was a lot less fun watching people do it from home, especially with the... varying recording equipment people had access to.
I love the guy that shouts "thats RIDICULOUSLY GOOD" at 6:30
Poo is an entretainer. He manages the wnergy of the crowd, adapts to the situation, and even interacts with hecklers.
I dig how Poo also likes the song "Mind's Eye" from the Tempest 2000 soundtrack (for the Judecca level). I learned about that song from an SMW fangame and absolutely love it.
your personality just makes me stay smiling the whole way. Great run.
That was dope. What a showman!
Always love your energy and how hard you crush these rom hacks!! Thanks for helping make GDQ great 😊
I’m glad GDQ had Poo run on the weekend; my old ass needed a nap today after staying up late enough to watch this gem of a run live!
Insane run, you are the end-boss 🤘
Forget GPB skills, gotta love this man's charisma
the absolute shock when i saw dan salvato
I love the energy and good run!
I fucking love this run. You are incredible
Love you Poo! So sorry I couldn't stay up to watch it live but you kicked ass this run!
7:52 I LOVEEE that they used that song for the background music omg amazing choice. It's "Path of repentance" aka "Via Purifico" from Final Fantasy X
12:45- Let's F'in Go!!!! 😎😎😎🔥🔥🔥
34:44 - Mario prison wallet
Glad to see you got this down enough to crush it for a marathon.
24:51 that false celebration in the crowd was wild lol
can't believe he actually 1 shot that boss incredible!
This was a great run!
It's crazy how good Poo plays when the heat is on
casual Dan Salvato chillin' watchin' some SMW

Had hoped to see this live but was knocked out. Thanks for sharing and congrats on that amazing run!
(Also, what was the one other game that rivals this in terms of challenge that you started to mention at 1:58?)
Was waiting for this! Thanks for uploading before GDQ even did.
Poo's got really damn good at this, what a great run
GPB telling the crowd to hoot and holler reminded me of Happy Gilmore when he asks the spectators to “make some noise.”
You're an absolute legend!
This is one of the best GDQ runs I've ever seen.

Smashed the run dawg, grats man!
That was so much fun to watch!
He delivers again!
GBP is in a class of his own lol. He's an insane player and a great entertainer. Some of the other gdq runs are sleepy but Poo brings the HYPE
damn he really went hard mode against the boss
Poo really does have that natural charisma
This probably is a new PB if not for the waiting and explaining of levels, that’s how good this run was!
Sometimes i forget Dan Salvato is a speedrunner.
Poo and Shoujo, excellent!
This is the best video I've seen this week!
I tried and failed to stay up for this run. Shame that I missed you absolutely gaming out of your mind in this run.
