His dance style is so graceful and light. It's a very different approach to the shuffle dance. There is certainly beauty to his approach but I also like the more funkier demonstrations of shuffle dance I have seen in other videos. Neither are better than the other, simply different.
the chinese way of shuffle is an art. the western style is sort of sport. they care of how quicker and stronger like they are in a competition always. l prefer it's done with elegance and a joy.
Well, I'm thinking this is not the end of this song or dance. It took years for (the new) shuffle to get from West to East, and now it is in the process of being perfected into something for the soul and body. Wei Jia is only one of many styles that will excist. And when it's altered in something more then just a dance , then it will start to turn back from East to West in a new form. This is addictive for the dancer AND for the watchers. I'm too old now, but I could watch this for ages. What I really love as well is that the Chinese can wear western clothing decently. They look good, and they don't have to be half naked to do so. I remember seeing a Chinese circus act at Expo 88 in Brisbane. The women were all modestly dressed, and they were amazing performers. You don't need to see someone almost naked to appreciate the art and skill. I wish this would catch on over here. It would be great to see Wei Jia dancers popping up locally. Well done!
