    Part 10: • Warren Sapp: I Felt Li...
    Part 8: • Warren Sapp: I Heard K...
    Part 1: • Warren Sapp: Tony Dung...
    --------
    DJ Vlad starts this clip off by sharing an interesting stat with Warren Sapp: half of the head coaches in the NBA are Black, while only 6% of the head coaches in the NFL are Black. In response, Sapp declares that the NFL owners operate under a "Good Ol' Boys" system that ensures that the balance of power, in ownership and coaching, will always lack diversity. He then explains why that notion was a huge motivating factor in why he and his former teammates wanted to succeed so bad when Tony Dungy took over as their head coach with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers back in 1996. He then floats a theory about how billionaires typically only hang amongst each other and most of them are White, which is another reason why there aren't too many Black head coaches in the NFL. To that, DJ Vlad offers some pushback by reminding him that the NBA is also run by White Billionaires but they don't seem to have a problem with hiring Black head coaches.

      What is their to coach in the NBA? The league is in the verge of hiring female head coaches. Don't matter no more. The players run the league and the game plans. A NBA head coaching job is basically a babysitting job. That's it. That's why they don't give a shit who is the head coach.
      Typical NBA game plan: Shoot 3's all game, play no defense. Last 5 mins of the game, try and play defense and play a tad conservative. Sounds about right?

      I agree but I think that’s only a part of it. There’s less black coaches in the nfl than the nba also bc football is very closely related to and rooted in faith. Nfl owners usually have a profile of what kind of coach their players will respond to. Usually the black candidates don’t fit that profile and its not based on race. Also ask yourself this. If the lack of black nfl coaches were truly a problem, how come you never hear the black players sticking their neck for teams to hire black coaches??? They know what they want and like. The nba isn’t rooted in faith and very secular.

    • @LP-ct9nk
      @LP-ct9nk 2 года назад

      The last time a black player stuck his neck out for a pro-black cause the nfl blackballed him (Kap). I guarantee you that same energy encourages other black players to keep silent about certain dynamics regarding hires. To say the hiring is predominately based on faith ignores the way faith is intricately linked with socio-cultural racial trends and demographics that could be consciously and unconsciously affecting owners decisions

    • @gregorylagrange
      @gregorylagrange 2 года назад +1

      @@LP-ct9nk Football has always had a southern feel, as well as a very distinct and overt viewing of black players as working farm animals. The long history of every position that was considered more cerebral, white players. Every position that was mostly just physical, black players.
      It's extreme ignorance to claim that black players don't want or don't like black coaches. They've been wanting and voicing their desires to protect black coaches through being aware that if the team doesn't do well, it will be a long time before another one gets a chance. It was the same thing before there were any black coaches as it was with black quarterbacks. Back in the days of Deacon Jones. You can find of video of him half joking about how he wasn't going to sac Jefferson as hard because this having a black quarterback is such a rare and special occasion that he needs to be protected because there may not be another one.
      As Warren Sapp said, it's always been a good ol boy network. NFL players have more felt like there wasn't anything they could actively do than NBA players.
      And really it's only recently that in the NBA a black coach could get fired from a team and become head coach on another team. It used to be they got one chance to be head coach. Whereas white head coaches were recycled over and over.

Second, if black players want to empower black coaches then start at the collegent level by going to HBCU's but they don't, they continue to go to The "U", Alabama, Ohio State, etc. Last, if they want to be radical start a new league. When the nfl made the turn knowing that couldn't exclude black players from the nfl anymore they stuck to one rule that is unanimously agreed on but not publicized that rule being that there will never be a time where there is a majority black head coach or qbs that qb situation is losing its grip slowly because as of right now the SEC has majority black qbs starting in their conference and so do most power 5 teams now the coaching situation on other hand will be a bigger fight because of that

    To say Rick Ross doesn't know much about football is pretty dismissive. He was good enough to get a scholarship for it. There are plenty of people who's opinions are respected in football and they never played a down. Put some lemon pepper on his wings Sapp. Just saying.

    He's being cryptic. Those aren't "advisers". They are called "handlers". These people pick and choose who they think will go along with the program without asking questions. And if they bring you in and you don't do what they say, they will destroy you in so many different ways. Football was created from military war games. Therefore, the "games" are always agenda (mission) based. And those chosen to lead these missions (players included), are somehow related/connected to the controllers/owners. It's called Sports Entertainment but really it is Mind Entrainment.
