For those of us that watched Dave from the start, he used to do bits like this himself all the time in his early days on NBC, because nobody would recognize him. But by the time he moved to CBS he was far too famous to do it anymore. So he used Rupert as his proxy, and since was Dave was in no danger he really pushed things to the limit!
Basically Dave and Rupert were Impractical Jokers before there were Impractical Jokers. I would love to see the one where Rupert was a waiter who told customers "basically we're just playing grab-ass in the kitchen" and serving drinks with his finger in the glass.
Rupert was the ultimate sport. Love that guy.
The PERFECT vessel for Dave’s comedy.
Yes indeed!
For a regular joe who operates a deli counter everyday, Rupert was incredibly fearless.
Brave. he said it was frightening.
Rupert, looking good!
Dave running around trolling innocent bystanders is one of the funniest things he ever did.
Without a doubt. And when he got so famous that he couldn’t do it having Rupert doing it was genius. Until Rupert got too famous.
Whole grain snacks ... The genius switch. 🎃👻🎃

You should get that looked at.
Rupert had the Best subs !
Unrelated comment : Dave , When was the Phrase
"That's not Soup" first uttered ?
and 2 . If it wasn't soup, WHAT was it ? 😆
Fair, and hard hitting questions. Inquiring. Minds wanna know!
I see where Conan got his inspiration from :)
I could tell immediately it was NOT the real superman from the yellow cape.
Keen observation skills. Are they hereditary?

@@602kelly1 Don's a legend. He works for this channel too.
It’s on here!
It was his Thumb!
Big circles.
Perfect, succinct direction.
Still more believable as a Sheriff than Herschel Walker
He’d have our vote.
@@thelettermanpodcast I'd throw all my support behind him as well
RIP Rupert. You were a moderately talented puppet and sandwich maker.
I think he's still alive as far as I know.
Didn’t even know he was sick
UH, he's completely fine.
Who did we go for dinner with last week? Was Rupert a zombie??? Cool!
