DOOM's album with danger mouse - Danger doom is one of the best and features alot of adult swim cartoons....Operation Doomsday is the classic DOOM album too.
Dangerdoom ain’t talked about enough amongst his catalog. That and born like this are my favs after this one.

Shadows of tommorow is a rendition of a poem by jazz legend Sun Ra. Sun Ra is also the guy sampled talking through the track.
Quasimoto is Madlib with his voice pitched higher.
Viktor Vaughn - Vaudeville Villian, his greatest work qua lyricism imo
Doom is one of those rappers. Influenced so many yet rarely brought up when discussing the greats.

Vaudeville Villain (under his alter ego, Viktor Vaughn) is DOOM’s best album, and I will die on that hill.

The production on this album is crazy so unique which fits perfectly with Dooms flow and rhyme patterns. Also side note, Doom was born in London so technically he's a UK MC 🤣🤔
yeah and because of that he was refused reentry to the usa because i think he was never a US citizen. so he spent his final couple of years in the uk (Leeds). Biden used a song of his in a campaign and he sued the campaign for using his song yet not letting him come back separating him from his wife and kids. gone too soon

This album came out at a super creative time for Hip Hop, labels like Stones Throw, Rawkus, Fondle Em, Def Jux, Duck Down, Eastern Conference, Rhymesayers, Project Blowed, Low Life, were all releasing fire, it was easier for independent artists to make a good living off their music then.

DOOM does have a song with Busta, it’s called “In the Streets”.
In Fancy Clown, it’s probable the person who took his (Viktor Vaughn’s) girl was the “tin face” (MF DOOM) he’s talking about in the beginning of the song

Her's a fun fact about Great Day. The sample is a slowed down Stevie Wonder solo Madlib before Madvillany had a jazz band called Yesterday's New Quintet. All the parts were done by Madlib like Quasimoto he played everything. He had a album of Stevie Wonder covers, so he was well versed at what to pick. Man is a musical geinus. He eventually stopped rapping and now produces full time.
doom was the greatest. facts. a true genius, an artist, and not just making money but producing art. every collab he did was incredible, czarface, JJ doom, madvillian, nehruvian doom and his solo stuff, vicktor vaughn etc. i recommend the JJ doom 'Keys to the kuff' album; showing love to his UK roots with damon albarn (blur and gorillaz) and a radiohead track. when he died he was living in my hometown, leeds, and i didn't even realise he was there. from then on, every halloween is doomsday.

If you watched Space Ghost Coast to Coast you gotta check out DangerDOOM - Space Ho’s and the Madlib remix, which was on an EP with Talib Kweli. Danger Mouse’s version is focused on the show and Madlib’s is comedy

DOOM does have a song with busta BTW aswell as an unreleased ghost face album...he always kills it when he features with aesop rock.
If you guys have found the appreciation for the type of art that MF DOOM created. You should definitely check out "Ask Anyone" by Lice. Lice is a duo of two rappers you have recently heard for the first time, Aesop Rock and Homeboy Sandman. "Ask Anyone" is a track written as a tribute to MF DOOM after his passing.
My favorite song by DOOM is "A Dead Mouse" check it out. Also, the entire Danger Mouse album
This album for real took me like 7 or 8 good listens to like and appreciate it fully. I just didn't like how short most of the songs were because I was used to hearing 4ish minute long songs. Then I heard All Caps randomly watching The Boondocks and it clicked for me at that moment ( I had forgot about the album honestly). Rhinestone Cowboy is one of my favorite album closers of all time. Hardcore Hustle and Eye were the two tracks I just tolerated until hearing them This video as I'm catching more than I did before.

They toured this album and saw them in Toronto. Performed this album, DOOM performed some of his solo shit, Madlib did some of his solo shit THEN, last minute, DILLA was added to the bill and he performed some solo shit and then him and Madlib did the Jaylib album!! And to finish the night out, Madlib jumped on the drums and just started wildin’ out while everyone was leaving! It was one of the most epic concerts I’ve ever been to!!!

Not listened to any Doom for a while now. Going to go listen to The Mouse In The Mask. The ATHF samples get me every time. Then maybe hit up some J Dilla. The Shining or Donuts are both spectacular, must have albums.

Establishment record companies are desperate to keep art out of Hip Hop. Why? Because a well crafted and meaningful verse requires thought and introspection. It also brings the generations together, which they definitely don't seem to want.

DOOM was crazy good one of the best uk born hip hop artists ever, i believe he moved to the states did hip hop over there and came home to pass away on home soil, havent checked out heaps of his work but Viktor Vaughn of his aliases has more aggressive beats which is more my style.
