- When it comes to the number of manufacturing ERP systems in the market, there is no limit. There might be solutions in the market that might not be fully baked but may claim to have manufacturing functionality. The manufacturing systems typically have very different layouts when it comes to their capabilities to manipulate BOMs. They also have unique functionality to make changes, such as replacing a material or operation with one click across all BOMs in the system.
The manufacturing ERP systems also differ from the perspective of discreet vs. process manufacturing. The BOMs for discrete manufacturing typically have a very different layout than process manufacturing. The process of manufacturing BOMs is more complex and requires very different workflows. Then there might be another layer of product types that are being manufactured. If the products are primarily make-to-stock, make-to-order, engineer-to-order, or project-manufacturing, they each could have their own nuances. This list will help you understand the differences between these ERP systems.
We have analyzed the top 10 manufacturing ERP systems based on several criteria, including their market share in the manufacturing industry, the alignment of acquisition strategy to the manufacturing industry, the strength of their manufacturing communities, the depth of the cloud-nativeness of the solution, and much more.

Dear respected sir, I need review video about Gofrugal software and Peddle plus software.
How do you rate Cin7 Core / Dear inventory management System?
Rating is generally based on your current state, budget, and the goals expected from the system. Once you provide, some more context, then we might be able to provide insights into whether it might work for you or not, regardless of the rating. Hope it helps!
Some of these systems aren't bad, but in most cases, even with better systems, the 3rd party consultants installing have limited control over what any given module can do. 95% of the time, manufacturers especially need customizable systems. Everyone who has been through an ERP implementation knows the risk of a boxed system.
Great perspective. But in general, when a company doesn't fit in a box, in most cases, they have process and data issues, and the customizable system is trying to automate broken processes and data sets.
How does IFS fit in manufacturing space? Specifically for make to order manufacturers like those with custom and batch production requirements (10-30qty per line item)
It's very hard to assess only based on this information. IFS is slightly bigger solution and doesn't do as well in the constrained-based manufacturing environments. It's strength is in EAM and field services in the large equipment space. Based on the information provided, it doesn't seem to be the ideal fit. But with ERP systems, there are always layers and we would recommend consulting with a professional expert than selecting a system based on few internet comments.
@@ElevatIQ Thanks for the reply! We are a machine shop with low volume /high mix production. Most similar to a large machine shop with 350 employees. We have done demos of atleast 4 erps mentioned including IFS so i was wondering based on that.
Thanks.
@@mohamedsayani2414 the market segment you mentioned is not the strongest for IFS.
But again, depending on how you plan to implement it, things could vary.
Infor and Epicor are much stronger in this market segment. They also have much higher market penetration.
Not sure which solutions you are looking at and which is your geography. There are millions of variables that could drive whether a solution would be a fit or not.
