I have been watching Rogers music for the last day or so in the light of his death. His music while he lived was awesome and in passing he has left a huge legacy for humanity. RIP Roger.
It's heartwarming to see the appreciation for Roger Whittaker's music in the face of his passing. His awesome talent has left an enduring legacy that transcends time. May he rest in peace, and may his music be a source of comfort and inspiration for all.
❤❤❤ merveilleux 1 don ❤❤1lorraine ❤❤
His instantly recognisable voice was pitch perfect, irrespective of when using his vocal cords or his lips. A unique talent, sadly missed.
In my opinion the greatest performer of all times.
It’s so hard to believe there’s not a flutist somewhere behind the scenes, he’s that damn good. Bravo
Absolutely bravo-worthy! Roger Whittaker's whistling skills in 'Mexican Whistler' are so remarkable that one might think there's a flutist hidden somewhere. An incredible display of talent
Roger was an amazing and talented person
What saddened me most about is recent passing
It was not even mentioned on any tv channel in the UK
R. I. P Roger Thank you for all the years of pleasure you brought to my life.
💔
That's because England isn't what she use to be sad to say
It was all over the Irish news. RIP
I agree with you. I only learnt of him dying by accident. I was very sad that there had been no mention of him. I think I saw him live at the Radio Show Earls Court when I was quite young. RIP to a very talented man.
Roger was much more popular in Germany than in Britain. He was from a ‘colonial family’ in Kenya and in his time the British music scene was overtaken with American rock-n-roll, Beatle mania, Rolling Stones, etc… whereas Germans still appreciated a strong neo-classical singing tradition
My late mother loved Roger, had to have one of his songs at her funeral I chose final farewell God rest their souls❤️❤️🙏🙏
Watched the world whistling championship 🤔👍 Roger wins every time absolutely unbeatable🙏🙏🙏🙏👍👍👍 rip the maestro...
Every now and then such gifted men turn up from nowhere to light up the world with their exquisite display of brilliance. How fortunate are we who live in the time of RUclips.
Shaha L well said!
So beautifully said! Your comment brought tears to my eyes.
@@nashotamojag535 thanks Nashota. I could'nt suppress my excitement that day. B coz Whittaker and Buddy Green came to me on that same day!
Or women..
I consider myself so very fortunate to have seen him in concert many times. Some of the best were at evening performaces at an outdoor theater north of Detroit and listening to him whistle the Skye Boat song while looking up at the stars.
Such a talented and lovely human being. A sad loss
Roger Whittaker, the whistling Maestro. rip.
Phenomenal beauty unheard of.
I was blessed to see Roger’s first ever US show in Atlanta and a second one in Greensboro on his birthday. What a talented man.
Elizabethan Serenade. This beautiful péice of music takes, me back to my youth... I always loved, it..
REST IN peace Roger.....
My Dad was a, lovely whistler... ❤️Rest in peace Dad 🙏
This tune is actually Elizabethan Serenade, composed by Ronald Binge. Binge also composed Sailing By, which is used by the BBC as the theme tune to introduce their late night shipping weather forecast. In addition, Binge was the arranger for Mantovani and developed the "cascading strings" effect.
You are exactly right, of course. This single-song video has been clipped from the video of the whole gig, which can be found elsewhere on YT, and in the comments under which I have made the same correction you did. Unfortunately, there are vast numbers of people who either don't know the difference between the tunes and don't care, or are actively trying to destroy Whittaker's reputation (the posters of these videos) or alternatively are trying to deceive Whittaker's fans about his circumstances, as with the admin of the Facebook group run in his name.
Whata mistakea to makea !
Ronald Binge also composed a piece called The Watermill, which was used as the theme tune to the early 70's tv adaptation of The Secret Garden.
@@kevinrh15000 Quite correct and well worth a listen. Thanks!

What are you trying to prove by rephrasing the words in my comments?
The nostalgia is almost unbearable.
Beautiful.
Stunning whistling skills I don't ever recall hearing before by anybody else!!
Have you heard LP (Laura Pergolizzi)? She's a great singer, great sogwriter, and does some great whistling on some of her songs too - check out Into The Wild for a bit of that!
@@BackToTheBluesstill no where near as brilliant as Roger the king of whistling was 🙏🙏👍👍👍👍
@@davidchamberlain5425 That's undeniably true, but still pretty darned good! I'd still love to hear LP try Mexican Whistler - if anyone other than Roger could do it, it would be her.
I feel sad for those flute players... Years of study to be beaten by a guy without specialized hardware :)
werner Van Belle: Oh yes
lol :)
(but the title is wrong, it is not mexican whistler 'song')
Feel good, those flute players play for the best whistler
@ Small detail ;=) !
😂😂
I am so grateful I got to seem him in person many years ago now and it was a birthday present to my by my husband but I was already in love with his music and he came to Canada.
Sublime ! Merci Roger!
Absolutely stunning whistler!! So impressive I have listened many times to it now. :-)
Rest in Peace, Roger!
Such a gifted man, he lights up my world. When young and now also in my advanced age.
voor mij was hij de beste whisler
Absolutely superb! My dad never sang but he sure could whistle and as the talented Mr Whittaker once said, everyone has a whistle. Indeed!
Anyone who performs to this level must have alot of good in them.Long live Roger.
Superbly done,no one better than our roger.love it
Grandioos mooi gefloten. SUPER.
This is the Elizabethan Serenade. i have an instrumental version of this tune. Mexican Whistler ( an entirely different tune) was released by Roger Whitacker in the year 1968!
A sheer delight. My little wild finches regularly drop by to hear a little Mozart. They would keel over in sheer ecstasy if they ever heard this. Beautiful!
I knew this tune but never knew its name thank you Roger for letting me know ❤😂
Como assim ?! 2024 e nunca ouvi falar dessa flauta humana ?? Que dom maravilhoso esse homem tinha. Que pena que se foi....😢
Never mind lip sync, this guy could whistle and whistle exceptionally well over many different disciplines and tunes.
You'll probably have to wait a heck of a long time before anyone else comes along as good as this.
Just brilliant 👏.
My parents had this on a 7" by Ron Goodwin and his orchestra. I grew up with this, it's beautiful!!
Era un artista excepcional, y dejó un legado musical colosal. No se puede pedir más.
A simple mind as I have struggled to comprehend the vast talent possessed by this man, if he isnt an entertainer I would never recognize one !
41 didn't. Idiots.
@@DH-ce6dh And in three months, 12 more didn't like this. To me, all that means is, those who didn't like him, have no musical inclinations. Too bad. Those who do have a musical aptitude, have been known to be of very high intelligence as opposed to those who don't have that ability.
Sublime, thank you.
He is a man of talent and his voice so soothing to the ear 🐦🌈😘✌❤️,
Bravo I love the whistle it gives a lighter way of the interpretation thank you for this performance musically +1+1
Thank you for your appreciation! Roger Whittaker's rendition of "Mexican Whistler" is indeed unique and charming, thanks in part to that delightful whistle. It adds a special touch to the performance. 🎶👏
Roger Whittaker is a fantastic whistler. . The song is the Elizabethan Serenade, not the Mexican Whistler.
Bravoo Roger, Best mucig. Beautiful🌹♥️kiitos. Matti Turunen/kuopio, Finland.
True talent and modest with it.
I love Roger's whistling!!!!!
What a blessed artist.
MAGIC
Absolutely, it's pure magic! Roger Whittaker's "Mexican Whistler" is a captivating and enchanting melody that has a way of transporting listeners to a world of musical wonder. 🪶🎶✨
Always known this tune as the Elizabethan serenade
Quite amazing
The most most beautiful piece of music known to man what a beautiful man
The beauty of this song is matched only by Roger Whittaker's incredible musical talent. 🌟🎶
It Reminds me of my childhood actually. It takes me back to my innocent days.
All I can say is wow. He is very talented and a good singer
Roger Whittaker's performance is awe-inspiring. He's not only a good singer but also a gifted artist who never fails to impress
Maravilloso cantante de bella personalidad...u silbido genial. Me recuerda a mi padre que así interpretaba diversas piezas musicales
That is the Elisabeth Serenade, not the Nexican Whistler.
What an entertainer he was sadly missed
It's a sentiment shared by many. Roger Whittaker's charm and entertaining skills were exceptional, and he is dearly missed. "Mexican Whistler" stands as a testament to his ability to bring joy and delight to his audience.
This is actually "Elizabethan Serenade"
I came back to say that too and yes you're correct.
Definitely yes : Elizabethan Serenade, not Mexican whistler !!!!
In Mexicali, they sing it: "Escucha mi canción, Elizabeth" :D
What a musician & singer
Brilliant!!
Mesmerizing Roger Whitaker.
Fantastic... Elizabethan serenade though.
RIP Roger 🙏🏻
Einfach super...diese Stimme...tolle Lieder, sind damit groß geworden...😉👍👏👏👏
Brilliant
Makes my soul sing; a good reprieve from today’s soulless society...
This is NOT Mexican Whistler. This is "Elizabethan serenade" from 19fifties. Thijs van Leer plays it on pan flute and the original was strings.
Vale the great man, and thanks for all the great music, Roger. Small problem though - I don't believe this piece of music is 'Mexican Whistler'. It sounds like the 'Elizabethan Serenade' to me.
i’ve always wanted to be able to whistle like him.
Magnificent!!
RIP Roger. x

Wow 💞
Roger Whittaker's talent shines in "Mexican Whistler." It's a charming and heartwarming song that stands the test of time. 💖🌼
I don’t know why this is sub-titled Mexican whistler. As far as I know Roger Whittaker is not Mexican and the tune is called Elizabethan Serenade
Happy New Jear Sir from Holland God Bless you and Fam in God's holly Name Amen
Hör mein Lied , Elisabeth ! Das ist das uralte Original.
