So many SUV's these days are overdone and gaudy at the front, but the XT4 is sweet, streamlined, simplicity. And like almost all Cadillacs it will still look new/relevant/still in-style many years from now. Even I, a true Ford man, love Cadillac vehicles. It’s simple. Just order it with every single option you want. If I lived in the south I wouldn’t want heated seats so I wouldn’t order them. I don’t understand why people get pissed off if something is or isn’t “standard”. What is the big deal? We always look at every single package or option in detail so we are informed and then simply order the vehicle to our exact specs and colour.
That's what I have and I absolutely love it!!! It's a full sun roof, entire ceiling. Heated seats in dove gray leather with black leather dash with black wood. Really makes a difference in lighting.
I was undecided before I saw this video that my husband showed me of the XT4 Cadillac.because of this video and the way he presented the vehicle I am now convinced that the 2019 Cadillac XT4 is definitely the vehicle for me to go with it.
Test drove this vehicle not long ago. IMPRESSIVE and coming from an INFINITI owner for the third time. My lease is up in June of this yr, in market for SUV. HMM, possible switch to American brand. GREAT VID!! 💯👍🏻
Great video, well done! I actually bought an XT4 Sport after watching this. My recommendation to all XT4 owners as a day one mod is to upgrade the intake air filter to the K&N filter version. It definitely improved throttle performance.
Just got the 2024 XT4, I’m thinking of doing cool stuff to it. I got the premimum luxury trim, everything is blacked out with the upgraded 20inch wheels, any recommendations on what I should do to the car
Cold weather package includes heated seats (all 4) and heated steering wheel for 850 bucks more, across all trim levels. I would like to see it standard at this level also.
I agree that at the price point, the XT4 should have some kind of moonroof or something. A base Acura RDX can be had for less money and has a panoramic roof and heated front seats standard. Who knows, I might go the way of the Mazda CX5 to save some moolah. Plus, it's more premium nowadays and that savings can get me a lot of Twinkies.
Our base model (Luxury) XT4 has heated seats. We've owned ours for 6 months now. I love this car! Never asking for more power on highway or street. It is great in the Canadian snow too. Very Smooth luxury ride. Steering is a little numb, but that's most cars now with electric handling. Apple Car play is great and buttons are easy to find and use. Best looking Crossover out there. Highly recommend this car!!! I find myself picking this car to drive (my wife's) over my '14 Audi S4.
other set backs: Luxury (base) model doesn't have memory settings for driver seat (very annoying with a short wife), and most annoying thing is there is a rattle when you shut the doors (I think its side mirrors), luxury cars shouldn't make that noise. Other than that, love this car. Very happy with purchase.
I love the twinkie references for size/scale but I hope Joe adds a golf bag for the trunk. Whenever he's showing the trunk space it'd be sweet to see that.

FWIW, I think there should be a sport black trim package with loud exhaust and a luxury chrome trim package with quiet exhaust. Sure, I love the HP but give me refinement, too.
Hey there Joe, very good video review... but I noticed you didn't answer the question you posed in the title. So.. in your opinion, is the Cadillac XT4 merely a 'good' luxury crossover SUV or is it 'great'? I'm leaning toward calling it 'good', but in need of a lot of improvement!
The heated seats are in the Cadillac cue system when you go into climate. Honestly I think Cadillac has grown into the 21st Century and I'm grateful for that. But in my honest opinion I don't think that cadillacs are meant for sporty Driving dynamics. This is a car for weekend comfort 🤷🏽♂️. I don't even think it's an everyday driver's car. But over all nothing that I'm saying is law its just my opinion Cadillac is not only an iconic sex symbol of a classic luxury car it's a great overall luxury value.
I'm surprised no one ever mentions one thing about this car. I have a 2019 premium Luxury and I like almost everything about it, except it's bumpy. It is not a smooth ride. It jerks and when you hit a bump you really do feel it. It's a rough ride, unless of course, you are driving on smooth clear roads like the one in the video.
I own the same XT4 Sport that you reviewed and think it is a great little SUV, I love the styling and the interior design and layout. My only gripe is the noise level of the 2.0 Turbo engine. The harder you accelerate, the noisier it is. My dealer says this is normal so it's something I have to get used to. Other than that, I'm impressed with the XT4.
Yeah heated seats should be standard. I’ve seen the car in person and the interior is definitely has a luxury look. If you’ve gone car shopping lately you would see this is what $44,000 looks like. My 2019 Jeep Cherokee was $37,000 while it does heated front seats the Cadillac outclasses it in every other way.
This vehicle has a feature on the key fob where you can start the car before entering it to warm or cool the inside cabin depending on what the climate level is set on. The suv is locked and it is not on all the way, you press push start once you are inside. I like that feature.
Although there were a lot of silly zonks especially the lack of heated seats. I think and hope it will sell well for Cadillac. I think it will being a small cross over suv for the brand.
I most got 1 but it didn't have moonroof. That is a deal breaker for me in Any car. Especially paying 30k plus. Some xt4s do have moonroofs tho. I found a silver 1 but I want black.
Sup Joe great review! Hey did this have the active sport suspension? During the test drive I could hear lots of noise come into the cabin when going over the uneven pavement. Im curious did you feel the bumps as much as the camera mic could hear them? Thx!
At first I thought $44k for a caddy suv sounds pretty good. Then we find out that it is fwd without heated seats and no sunroof and it makes sense. The size is right up my alley. The price of these compact SUVs is going through the roof. The top trim cx-5 is around $47k. The RAV4 is up to $42k. Hyundai here I come. Excellent video as usual. Hope all is great down there in Clearwater Florida. 👍
The Cadillac XT4 is built at the same assembly plant as the Chevrolet Malibu in Kansas City, KS Fairfax Plant. 2024 supposed to discontinue the Malibu, see if they will continue to build the Cadillac XT4 at the plant.
That is sharp. Only bad part i see is, once you go past 19 inch diameter wheels the ride suffers!! 18-19 really is pretty much perfect!! But thats just my opinion. I've got an Explorer ST with 21's & havent noticed much. Florida roads though(lack of major pot-holes😲😲) I haven't test driven any yet!!!
Never thought I'd like a Cadillac, but I had one of these as a rental recently (one other time, too), and I must say, I was QUITE impressed! I've had to start researching this vehicle, to see if I could buy one! So far, so good! I do like it! I'm just trying to deal with the cachet of the BRAND (It's "A Cadillac"). It's a bit dated for my taste, but I like the CAR. Am working my way through it. Will see how this turns out...
Sport is a little misleading as there's no power bump what I like about the jag e pace you just reviewed recently you get the option of more power . My zonk with all these veg in this class is when you load them up the price gets a little out of hand .
So you zonk the plastic on the back seat of this car. Yet you don't do the same for other makers. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Too many car reviewers are biased towards certain auto makers.
Other than nissan and FCA, GM make the worst cars including reliability. Id even consider the german makes before GM. Its too bad really. If you want a luxury suv for mid 40k... then acura rdx is tough to beat. Also look into a lexus rx
@@mikescott6097 Got a great deal on a loaded BMW X3 and its been a great SSUV. No issues. They are pretty reliable and have a superior bi turbo motor with the ZF 8 speed. They are made in the US as well (believe the motor from Germany and the ZF from belgium). The RDX advanced was a runner up when I was looking and its no match for the RWD/Xdrive X3. The RDX advanced would have cost me more and it was not at the same level as the X3. You can get decent discounts on BMW's. I got 7K off and paid 47K fully loaded. Its offers a ton more then this XT4 which looks very basic in comparison. Question is, what kind of discounts can you get on the XT4? Get it for under 40K might be tempting for some.

I always like his reviews. I just don't think it's sophisticated and sexy enough. I want Cadillac to win but it's missing something. The lower front facia is to plain and the rims aren't appealing. Should have more standard features and more interior color options on lower trim levels.
Agree... 300 would be an option!! I could go for that, I had a 09Sky Redline 2.0L Ecotech(Lnf) GM had a tubo upgrade to 290HP. A G.M. Engineer told me it was actually 325..... $600 (Including labor)installed by dealer.. keeps the warranty!! That little bugger screamed!! Had about 6 restarts before ECU learned....Too bad they dont have an upgrade for this puppie!!! It was all done pretty much by a sensor and a ECU REFLASH!! Whoo-Hoo!!!! Probsbly simewhere, but not the dealer????!!!
DaveA441 , the 2020 “350 T” badging has a meaning. It is the engine torque in Newton-meters from 1400-4000 rpm. That’s what you feel when you punch it and the 9-speed does its thing to keep you accelerating in the flat torque range. This gear head chuckled when I figured what it meant. I think it is a subtle touch not everyone will appreciate. It may be unique in the industry. I haven’t researched that. Just took delivery of double black Sport with Cadillac discount and financing promo. It is my wife’s driver. I drive a double black 2017 Camaro rs. Side by side in our garage there is a striking family resemblance in the styling. They could have come from the same studio. FWIW: We are both in our mid 70’s. I was a GM engineer in the mid 1960’s. My wife drove my ‘64 GTO while I was in the military from 1968 until we bought a 455 ‘70 GTO.
No heated seats and no sunroof at $44k. That's unacceptable and the back seats look very cramped. I went to a Cadillac dealership and can tell you that XT4 has a lot of cost cutting and doesn't look anywhere close to entry level luxury competition quality like infiniti, lexus, mb, and bmw. Spend another 5K and buy the Acura RDX. A Spec. Also the engine sounds way too loud for luxury.

Why does it matter if it’s standard. You want it? You order it with. At least if you don’t want it then you don’t have to get it.

Q3 does not have memory seat and heated stering wheel but it's run on regular gas.

I always like his reviews. I just don't think it's sophisticated and sexy enough. I want Cadillac to win but it's missing something. The lower front facia is to plain and the rims aren't appealing. Should have more standard features and more interior color options on lower trim levels.

XT4-V is on the drawing board. Would use the 2.7L turbo from the CT4-V. However, could be affected by COVID-19. Who knows

I had a 09Sky Redline 2.0L Ecotech(Lnf) GM had a tubo upgrade to 290HP. A G.M. Engineer told me it was actually 325..... $600 (Including labor)installed by dealer.. keeps the warranty!! That little bugger screamed!! Had about 6 restarts before ECU learned....Too bad they dont have an upgrade for this puppie!!! It was all done pretty much by a sensor and a ECU REFLASH!! Whoo-Hoo!!!! Probsbly simewhere, but not the dealer????!!!

DaveA441 , the 2020 “350 T” badging has a meaning. It is the engine torque in Newton-meters from 1400-4000 rpm. That’s what you feel when you punch it and the 9-speed does its thing to keep you accelerating in the flat torque range. This gear head chuckled when I figured what it meant. I think it is a subtle touch not everyone will appreciate. It may be unique in the industry. I haven’t researched that.
Just took delivery of double black Sport with Cadillac discount and financing promo. It is my wife’s driver. I drive a double black 2017 Camaro rs. Side by side in our garage there is a striking family resemblance in the styling. They could have come from the same studio.
FWIW: We are both in our mid 70’s. I was a GM engineer in the mid 1960’s. My wife drove my ‘64 GTO while I was in the military from 1968 until we bought a 455 ‘70 GTO.

just took my wife out of her SRX 2011 and put her into a much better and more reliable lexus NX, very disappointed in Cadillac quality

NX is butt ugly imo. Besides it's a gussied up Toyota RAV4. And no, the cadillac is not a rebadged chevy.

For the price they charge heated seats should standard. I love cadillac and own a older one. Never sorry i bought it new.
You can get both heated and cooled now on the 2022-2023!

No heated seats and no sunroof at $44k. That's unacceptable and the back seats look very cramped. I went to a Cadillac dealership and can tell you that XT4 has a lot of cost cutting and doesn't look anywhere close to entry level luxury competition quality like infiniti, lexus, mb, and bmw. Spend another 5K and buy the Acura RDX. A Spec. Also the engine sounds way too loud for luxury.
