- While landing at SFO at 11:15am on runway 28R (on flight AA 431 from MIA) on Monday July 8 I had a clear view of the Asiana debris field, wreckage, and investigative crew on runway 28L. You can clearly see the landing gear and investigators inspecting the left P&W engine ahead of the aircraft to the right.

I didn’t see any info about the crash in the comment section, so here you go. This is from Wikipedia-
Asiana Airlines Flight 214 was a scheduled transpacific passenger flight from Incheon International Airport near Seoul, South Korea, to San Francisco International Airport in the United States. On the morning of July 6, 2013, the Boeing 777-200ER crashed on final approach into San Francisco International Airport. Of the 307 people on board, three died; another 187 were injured, 49 of them seriously. Among the seriously injured were four flight attendants who were thrown onto the runway while still strapped in their seats when the tail section broke off after striking the seawall short of the runway. It was the first fatal crash of a Boeing 777 since the aircraft type entered service in 1995.

What surprises me is they didnt shut the airport and let other planes land on nearby runway.
Why should they? SFO has a parallel runway which remained operational
@@spongebubatz there could be pieces of the other plane, its very dangerous, look what happened to Condorde
@@entropy22 they of course looked out for parts, the fuselage was there for quite some time and it wouldn’t make sense to keep the airport shut.
Also, it was concluded that Concorde didn’t crash because of the parts of the DC-10 engine but because of a missing spacer and being slightly overweighted.
