Can I use SK Mainstage App and Onsong App on Mac Laptop or Ipad to play song chords on their own, via Bluetooth connectivity, and without any physical midi instruments/devices?

I love the chord diagram tools. However, I play the same chord several different ways within a single song. I wish I could select different specific diagrams for each instance of a chord within a song without having to give different names to the same chords. --- for instance, I have been adding chords, giving the chord names a suffix such as -mid and -hi for where on the fretboard i play them. ---Also, I would like a visual clue that shows the approximate low fret is --say a small and large vertical extension on the diagram. The fret numbers are too hard to easily read.

Check out this video tutorial on how to "tag" your chords and assign different chord diagrams: onsongapp.com/videos/tutorials/chord-tagging Hope that helps!

Is there a way to edit chord diagrams using the (Windows) console? --

No, you would need to use the Chord Diagram Library in the OnSong iOS app, or use the "define" ChordPro tag: onsongapp.com/docs/features/formats/chordpro/defining-chords/

0:38 - I'm having an issue importing a song with chords using the meta-tag "Key". I'm using the chords F, Bb, and C. F is I, Bb is IV and C is V. Seems like the key would be F major. However, the song starts on C and because of that it seems I must use the metatag "Key:C" to preserve the original chords. It's possible the song is in another mode - that is understood. But, how would you tell OnSong what the mode is (if it isn't Major/ionian)

By default, OnSong uses the first chord of the song as the key of the song. In the event that the song starts on a different chord than the root, you can just declare the key of the song in the song editor by adding the key tag like this:
      Key: F
This should match how the song is written in the editor. You can then transpose the song into different keys using the Style Preferences menu: onsongapp.com/videos/style-preferences

That never worked. In fact before importing I had Key:F already set. The key imported as Bb (as shown in upper right after importing. This went round and round for some time until I just used the metatag Key:C. I did my best to make sure there weren't any extraneous spaces (or white spaces) or other characters that would mess up OnSong.

silvermica You’ll want to contact support@onsongapp.com and send the song that you are having trouble with so they can help with your specific situation.

Thanks! I'm guessing the original document must have an improper character(s) somewhere and I just haven't caught it yet. Once I had a curly braces in another document that messed things up a lot. I usually start from a clean document and import as text. This document was different - I used the original which could have had anything in it. Anyway, thanks again for the email.

Hello! Please integrate MIDI technology. It's been there since 1980s. Also please support piano players for future app improvements. Thank you so much.
