  • NEW CHANNEL NAME ANNOUNCEMENT, we are now know as Walker Projects (formerly Brutal Noodle). Join me as I dive into the biggest job I have personally attempted on a vehicle, replacing all 4 motor mounts (engine mounts and transmission mount) on my 7th generation 1993 Toyota Corolla DX AE102. While I was at it, I was able to replace some broken exhaust parts and solve my issues with that as well! All of the mounts are TRQ purchased from 1aauto.com (link below)

    I'm from Brazil and I have an automatic Corolla 96, my car has this same vibration, especially on the steering wheel and when I shift into reverse. He is in the workshop now to replace this mount next to the radiator, it was completely broken. Great video, I love this car and really appreciate the content about it, it's always good to learn about its maintenance.

    Those are manual motor mounts I had the same problem but you can use manual ones on a automatic the onto one that changes is the own that holds the transmission on top I been through all with these Corolla 93-97 Corolla I converter my automatic to a manual and there was a lot of difficulty but got it done but you can use them motor mounts that the only one that changed the one that holds the transmission on top trust me 💯

      The mount for the 95 Corolla 1.8L automatic transmission is discontinued. What engine and transmission do you have?

    • @walker.projects
      @walker.projects  Год назад +3

      I think it's literally just because it's a cheap generic mount. I normally never have a problem with TRQ but I don't know. Genuine Toyota mounts are like $100 a piece, and I paid $80 for all 4. Just a case of you get what you pay for. Nothing but genuine toyota parts from here on out though

    I had my mounts on my 93 replaced by a shop. Not sure which ones but the car still has a minor vibration when the AC/Heater is on. But it’s much better as before the whole car would vibrate and even the shifter. It stops when put in neutral but it also worked before the replacements. The shifter now never vibrates but the steering wheel does. I’m mostly happy with the results, but I was wondering if you have the same symptoms.

    • @walker.projects
      @walker.projects  10 месяцев назад

      That's strange, it does it with the heat on? The AC draws power from the engine so that makes since, but the heat alone shouldn't make a difference because it doesn't draw any engine power. If your RPM drops significantly when turning on the AC, that would be a bad IACV (idle air control valve). But if it's only a minor vibration I wouldn't worry too much about it, these cars are 30 years old and just about every bushing and bracket on these things are about done.

    • @bebeslife4519
      @bebeslife4519 10 месяцев назад +2

      @@walker.projects Oh, maybe not the heater but the AC for sure! It's true I have a 30 year old car, but I am wondering how to best improve it. I found out that my dad purchased a kit with only three mounts, A6261, A6260, and A6242-k0247. I'm guessing that piece missing is the trans mount. Thanks for the quick reply!

    • @walker.projects
      @walker.projects  10 месяцев назад +1

      Most likely yea, the other 3 ate considered "engine mounts" and that one on the driver side is technically a "transmission mount" so it's usually separate. But yea I'm in the same boat now just trying to replace all the worn out rubber bushings in the suspension and fixing small things here and there. Could check spark plugs, and timing and all that just to make sure it's all running smooth

      Some of these including mine with the auto will have vibes at a specific rpm range. Believe mine is around 750-800 rpm’s where it’ll be a tad buzzy especially when cold (under 40 Fahrenheit) In summer months I notice when the AC raises my idle from 650 to 750-800. Aside of that it is very smooth. Just a tad buzzy on super cold days before the car warms up.

    • @walker.projects
      @walker.projects  9 месяцев назад

      I wish I knew, Sadly OEM is discontinued. I used TRQ from 1aauto and they were all good accept the trans mount, but based on some research, its because of some confusion between different part numbers for the same part, and they mix up the automatic and the manual mounts because the part numbers are the same or different depending on certain years and trim levels and such. So long story short, I have no clue I'm sorry

    How are these mounts holding up? Are they causing more vibrations or are they still solid?

    • @walker.projects
      @walker.projects  Год назад +1

      I am having some issues bit I can't say for sure it's the fault of the mounts. Just to be safe I plan on replacing atleast the transmission mount with OEM Toyota, since that was the worst one. But I think the rest are OK. Most likely won't last as long as OEM but they do work. I'd say if you can afford it, just get genuine Toyota from the start, but they are significantly more expensive
