Thinly Sliced Beef (lean cuts of beef preferred)
    Jalapenos
    Green Onions
    Saw Leaf Herb
    Fishwort
    Sweet Basil
    Asian Corriander
    Red Bell Pepper
    Radish
    Lemon Grass
    Shallots

I was eatin' pleah sach ko almost every day in Srok Khmer the other month. Tasty as hell... but they put a different kinda pepper in it, WAY hotter than jalapeno. They're tiny, too, about the size of a pill. Called it "miteh kmang." My mom said it translates to "enemy pepper." Hot as hell.

Every video in your channel is a hit, and I've become a better Khmer cook watching your mom. I agree with all your fans we enjoy the dialogue between you and your mom. It brings a home feel experience to the show which is what cooking and good foods is all about--sharing the experience with friends and family.
Could you please ask your mom if this classic dish typically requires the fermented fish paste (prohok)?

Looks great you guys! No matter where you are from Mom's cooking is the best. I make a similar dish called yum seen in Lao and it's similar to plea sach ko, but we grill the beef just a little bit to get a char and smoky flavor to the beef. It's delicious. I'll have to try Mom's recipe for plea sach ko. Thanks alot bernymac20 and Mom! Thanks for the English subtitles for Mom too! :D
