A Giraffe Had Metal Ring Eating into its Flesh: Here is the Rescue Operation

- A giraffe accidentally stepped on a metal ring that clung to its foot, and was slowly cutting into its flesh.
Our team and the Kenya Wildlife Service went to the giraffe's rescue to remove the ring and save its life in the long run. Here is the rescue operation.

For those people giving thumps down , if you tranq a Giraffe excessively you might end up injuring them severely when they try to get up still under influence so is important they are as active as this one in video so those long legs don't crumble under their weight Good Job.
It's a blood supply to their brain not the weight that causes the problem. Imagine blood sully all the way up that long neck to their brain. LYING down interrupts this flow and causes brain damage or death. They have to get the giraffe up & standing asap. 3:52

For those who were upset that the giraffe was not fully anesthetized: Anesthesia or immobilization in giraffes is a challenge because the giraffe's unique anatomy and physiology presents inherent problems during anesthesia and/or chemical restraint. For example, vomiting with a neck that long is extremely dangerous. Lying on their sides makes it very difficult for them to breathe, as their chest can't expand. Allowing some movement of the legs can help them to breathe. These guys are experts and are trained for work with these animals. I think we can trust that they knew what they were doing.

This animals are under 24 hours observation by either ranger or tourist
it was Sauron's ring.
it tried to go through airport security, and got sent home
