Thanks for the video. Total newbie to scooters here. Just bought my very fist Yamaha SMAX TODAY! I've rode a Kawasaki Ninja for a few years, but scooting is a whole new (fun) world for me!
First wear pink. Next do not use the helmet strap it may mess up your due. Third just do not ride anything. If you squeeze harder it will stop sooner. What? I have been ridding for over 50 years. I have learned so much for this video I may become a instructor.
Two problems: 1. Rider has not fastened her helmet, rendering the helmet useless. 2. ALWAYS apply your REAR brake, then your front brake, or your bike (and you) may flip over.
If the scooter or motorcycle is heavy, it can want to fall when you come to a stop. Best way to brake is start with the rear brake then apply some front brake for a short time only then finish coming to a stop with the rear brake. In this way you will not only keep yourself from locking up the front wheel but the bike will be more stable and not want to fall when you come to a stop.
Depends what country you live in. In Canada and the West Coast of USA, that is a "scooter" and is named as such on many websites including Honda and Piaggio, for instance. (I have the Piaggio Fly 50cc which is a scooter.)
You completely forgot about countersteering. At walking speeds, you turn the bars right to go right and turn the bars left to go left. But any faster than that and the opposite will occur. Turn the bars very slightly to the right, and the bike will immediately lean and turn left. same thing for right turns. Turn the bars slightly to the left to go right. DO NOT ride in traffic until you have taken the MSF course. Wear a full face helmet. You do not want to lose your face if you crash. Your biggest danger on the road will come from other traffic, not from you or your scooter. Learning how to deal with traffic is a lifelong process. Just assume they are all out to get you.
Well, many things I have to point out. You should wear gloves though, unless you want to be in the hospital for 3 weeks. The Run and off button is called killswitch btw. Your helmet does not look safe too, I mean if you fall and don't want to break your face...
I have owned a scooter for 2 months now, I fell 2 times, 1 time I wore gloves, other time didn't. When I wore, nothing happened, but when i didn't, I was lucky I fell in the bushes, and still got my arms bloody.
I wouldn't tell people to come to a stop by dethrottling and applying front brake. If you do it fast enough this can cause your wheels to lock up and flip you over plus dethrottling slows you down but no brake lights are on at this point. Start your stop with left/Rear brake First so that your brake lights will come on first Then dethrottle and apply front brake if you have to. This will give the cars behind you much more time to react to your stopping.
And the 1st thing that you did not tell people is to have some kind of protection on their eyes either sunglasses for during the day or clear glasses air glasses for nighttime in case a bug goes in their eye they will not lose control of their scooter
as far i am concern a scooter is only good for 1 thing ( the small ones of 150 cc or less i mean not . the bigger super /maxi scooters ) to pass the skill test. the 400 + cc scooters are good smarter bikes
This is all good information but if you really don't know this obvious basic information already, you should not even have a bicycle... This video bothered me for some reason. Not enough actual road riding, to much "This lever is the brake, this lever is the other brake, twist it over and over until you know...." Just stupid..
Melissa Cornell How bout google your state laws? But please, if you want your brains splattered on the pavement whilst making the rest of us riders look bad... Then sure, don't wear a helmet.
The number one thing is keep your head out of your ass pay attention to the road get your bike license guys with the little 50 cc's don't have to have a license or insurance so I have a bike license I have a 125 Yamaha Zuma 2013 Suzuki Burgman 2013yr 400cc
Unbelievable. She's telling you how to ride a scooter and doesn't even secure her helmet! No gloves either. This woman has no clue. Low speed turn control is crucial, using back brake and a little throttle to prevent the scooter falling. This is the FUNDAMENTAL beginning but isn't mentioned. Nor is the emphasis on only using front brake in a straight line. You do NOT turn the bars left for left or vice versa except while going very slowly. You COUNTERSTEER slightly to get the bike leaning and turning. Don't follow any advice here. It is dangerous and useless advice.
+20°C and higher I don't wear gloves. Actually it is too hot to wear them and you don't really need. For falling protection you can make use of elbow protectors and motorcycle boots.
Oh my gosh I should've got one of these when I was 16 yrs old, I could've saved myself from walking around so much.

Because of this video ,i knew already how to ride a scooter.tnx a lot

Do u have to wear a helmet to ride a moped in michigan
Melissa Cornell How bout google your state laws? But please, if you want your brains splattered on the pavement whilst making the rest of us riders look bad... Then sure, don't wear a helmet.
The day I bought my moped I ordered a helmet. And I never ride with out it
Gosh. She dont even fasten her helmet?! So much for teaching how to ride a scooter

It’s not an automatic clutch, it’s a centrifugal clutch
Good one
Thank for tip
This lady doesn't even secure her shiny helmet down. 😅
I don't even ride, but know you hit the rear brake first.

Ohh so nice girl!!! 😍😍😍😍

Хорошее видео для тех кто хост купить скутер.
why would anyone want a helmet like that? it looks stupid and doesn't protect your face from a crash.
Why are white girls so fucking beautiful.? Oh my God I died and went to heaven.😋😍😍😢🤧😭😭😭😭
That’s some scooter
This was never about the scooter
You know what I want to ride?
Can I ride you pls ?
Can men drive
It was obvious she had never ridden before that video was made, by the way she wore the helmet.
In a way, I see this as something so fucked up. I can’t seem to know why though.
hey

I applaud the effort...but this is really NOT a great video on how to ride. They missed so many important points, I don't even know where to start.
Great video but that helmet is horrendous
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
Suzanne Summers, John Ritter, and the other gal with dark hair
What, no gloves!!!! Look elsewhere for advice.

I am actually not sure what to think of this video. I'm just going to quit halfway through and assume it devolves into some cringeworthy porno.
Why would you even watch it then
hi tank u. i watched ur video n now i no how to ride a moto scooter .tnk u all in that video.
