This is IMO (All respect to yours) but I think Alexis Tipton could have brought the grade up for Dub if she had been cast as Alya: 1) she's worked with Aaron Dismuke before (in Kaguya-sama), and 2) she's done a Russian character before (How heavy are the dumbbells)

Both are equally amazing, in my opinion. I still find it amusing that Alya's VA in the dub is also Ash Ketchum's 2nd VA. And apparently, Russian is her first language.
As a Russian I can say that JP is much more fun because of a really strong accent, she stresses each syllable while there should be only one for every word. Eng dub has a very good pronunciation although there are grammar mistakes like in the last scene 1:48

I'm an English speaker, I also have ADHD. I can't focus on both at the same time and I end up just focusing on the animation and assuming what is being said. A lot of the times I have to re-watch the same scene at least three times to understand what the hell is happening. So I will continue to watch English dubs. This English dub was pretty good, the only thing the Japanese does better that I've seen so far is the you kept me waiting scene. Also based on the scenes I've seen here, Alya is not as much of an ice princess in the Japanese dub as she is an English dub
This show was so hilarious with a touch of heartwarming moments. Basically every scene Yuki is in when she's trolling Kuze, like when she says she was "cuckolded/NTR'd" by Alya after he says he's going to help Alya run for student council president, complete with derpy eyes.
As a Russian person, I declare that in the English version, Russian phrases are pronounced absolutely clearly, not like in the Japanese version. When you watch the English version and really think that she is from Russia. But in Japanese there is no such thing. There is only the feeling that she just learned Russian language.
To be honest you can't blame them. Japanese voice actors aren't gonna learn how to speak a different language just to make is sound better. Most "fluent" English in anime still sounds stiff and forced

The JP VA is a full Japanese who studied Russian and is fluent. The Eng VA on the other hand is a Russian who grew up in the US. Excellent choices either way.
I'm gonna watch the Russian dub for it for fun and giggles, I'm interested in how they would make it. Too bad, they left the Russian parts untouched and translated everything else. Not gonna lie, I was expecting them to voice the Russian parts in Japanese or add in some joke about how the accent is too heavy so others can't understand her (I mean, no one stopped them from calling The Destroyer from Konosuba Howl's Castle so my expectations were high)

But I don't like that they changed the dv line from the good morning scene when Masachika yells back "domestic violenceah!", and matta matta line as in Yuki's part. Both scenes are still funny in English but would have liked it more if they kept those in the English too
