I'm surprised that it's not mentionned that therapists at Marriott, Hilton and the Four Seasons make from 100k to 150k annually.
I work at Four Seasons property and Auberge Property i make about 750 a day as a male ( when it's busy ) 3 days a week 8 hour days. Hourly plus commission plus Tip
Thanks for adding that. I didn’t even think about hotels.
Hi recently graduated massage school (as a male). i recently started working in a gym as a private contractor type position and its been paying well. I have a couple clients i check on and have sessions with often and looking to grow within my business (im 18).
Great to hear you are doing well. Just adjust you lexicon. "Type" it is or it isn''t
Did you go to massage school right after high school? (I’m 17)
@JtheIsraelite @senomous7798 commenting to stay updated on this.. Also, why go to massage school instead of get into a kinesiology major in college?
@@Heckdoor Because essentially, a kinesiology major would be useless(I would just get a PTA Degree), especially if your looking for a job right after. I would just go to massage school, if my mom didn’t force me to get some type of degree.
Yes would love to hear about how you paid yourself and also how you went about finding contractors. I have noticed in this industry that most massage therapists are either already working with someone or already having plans on going solo. which I would imagine makes things a little more challenging with trying to convince contractors to come and work with a new practice.
Great question! I'll make sure to address it in our upcoming Q&A video. Best of luck on your spa journey! 💆
I really love your attentiveness and how you break down the statistics in our field.
I will definitely schedule a coaching call.
Thank you for your kind comment! Looking forward to it!
I started at 40% split plus tips and ended at 60% plus tips after 11 years at the same place working 15 days a month 4-5 hr shifts! Now pp, I'm working everyday of the week at two different places at 50% plus tips much less clients combined compared to my first workplace. I'm/was an IC at all.
I started my own practice a year ago and am me working on day a week for myself. I would love tips for generating and retaining clients.
I'm inspired and encouraged the far! Thank U!
That`s awesome! Best of luck on your spa journey 💆
Oh Lord is big! I found your channel!! I want to watch all your videos at once lol ❤ thank you so much for this help. I have been working for someone else for 11 years and I’m tired of it. So much learned but also a lot of abuse. Specially on corporates. God bless you ❤
Thanks for the love! Glad this was helpful 😊🤗Wishing you the best of luck on your journey!
In 2011 I was paid $7 hourly at a spa then I was paid $30 commission at a chiropractors office. /a Physical Therapy center paid me $40 comission and insurance, I was dumb to quit. At another spa I made $23 commission. Working for myself I make $$$ instead of only $$.
How much do you make working for yourself? How many clients a day?
@@streetbs3586 Working for myself I make whatever I want. Right now I charge $108 for massages and pay myself $90 from that and the rest goes towards the business fees. I actually should be charging more due to the prices of everything are rising but I'm comfortable for now. My clientele daily varies. I work for myself part-time until I have steady clients. And I work for someone else's spa part-time.
@streetbs3586 I charge $108 from my clients, pay myself $90 and the rest goes into my bank business account for business expenses. I probably should charge more with the way things are going up in expenses but haven't yet. I'm comfortable. I also only work part-time for myself and part-time for someone else's spa. My personal clientele varies. Some weeks I may have 5 clients a week and an additional spa party of maybe 9 clients other weeks I have none. (That's why I keep my day job, though it can be super slow there too).
I think I started at $16/17 an hour with massage envy in 2019, and currently, I work in a luxury spa, receiving 75% commission on all services plus tips.
Everyone's journey is unique, and it's all about finding what works best for you. Best of luck on your spa journey!
Luxury spas at hotels is where it's at👍
@e.l.4860 truly!!!
Yep need some more in-depth. I'm finally starting to scale in my business 🎉 and want to learn how to manage the financial part of that.
That's awesome! Hope this helps 😊
love this video.. i’m a CMT in the bay area .. with the amounts listed you have to be from a southern area.. because you can’t survive here on $1700 a month. 😊This is wonderful though we need more of this!! 👏🏿
So important! love your takeaways! Best of luck with your studies and spa journey 💆
Congrats sis 🎉keep going!!
Thanks for the love! Stay tuned for more! 😊👍
Hi, I’m a massage therapist I work as independent contractor and I do mobile on the side but I want to open my own spa. I want to know how much money and what do I need to open it. I’m in Florida
Where did you learn how to do all the business finance side of things? I need resources for sure, so I'm going to check out the video you suggested. I want to start up a wellness center, but am only a massage therapist. I'm a smart woman and love studying, I just don't know where to look for "wellness center" startup specific information. What if I want to hire some people? What if I can't hire them at first? What if I want to offer benefits? All of this is enough to freeze me up
I haven't gotten my license yet. Where can I work as a certified massage therapist??
If your state requires licensure, it is a crime to work without a license. If your state offers a temporary license for recent graduates awaiting their examination for licensure, that would be the only exception. Each state has its own rules/requirements for massage therapy education and licensure.
Thank you for sharing!!
You`re very welcome! Stay tuned for more! 😊👍
Hi! I would love your help! I’ve been trying to build my massage practice since 2019. I get great feedback, but getting customers in the door is so hard. I have been relocating a lot which doesn’t help. I am desperate for help!
Hey!
I was wondering if I can consult with you about providing spa parties in my own area in Canada? I'm a first year RMT student in BC about to begin my business. Would love to be able have a chat and discuss :)
In Boca Raton they charge $120 plus an hour.. Some charge over$200.. I guess how much she can get by demand of clients..
Thank you so much for sharing.
You're so welcome! Glad this was helpful 😊🤗

Can i get licensed as a massage therapist through a trade school?
You sure can, and if you're really good at it, it can be the best returning investment that you've ever made.
How much did your school cost ? And where did you go I'm looking at paying 20,000 for a massage license trying to find a more affordable school
Check the community colleges in your area.
Must be a high end private school, but if they give you a great education and you're really good at it, it can be the best 20k that you've ever spent.
❤ your content
I appreciate you, thanks for watching!
can you massage a friends only with charge without license?
As long as they are cool😂😂😂
Which country?
Our location is , Tallahassee, FL. Stay tuned for more! 😊👍

You started a business with $500? You mean personal investment not including loans. There's not enough context here.
