Leave it to the great Ann Miller to harmonize this weird, wonderful assortment of personalities. She was honest because she never had a mean bone in her body. She was smarter than anyone knew, but kept it quiet. I think she believed her optimism would win the day. It did. I knew her and know there was no kinder, more talented soul on earth than Ann Miller.
Ann Miller may not have had a mean bone in her body but she attracted three mean husbands into her life. The first husband pushed her down the stairs, she lost her baby as a result and she was in traction for two years. Her second husband broke her arm. Her third marriage got annulled for some unknown reason. Annie may have been smart but didn't know how to pick husbands. Her astrological chart should have guided her to better husbands.
ozvoyager - might I ask what is that? I don't believe in astrology at all, not only is against of what the word of God say but your life can't be determined by any of that witchcraft business.
@@mayaa5048 It is NOT witchcraft. Your living in the very dark ages Maya. Bet you did not know that Astrology was before Christ was on Earth, and the Hebrews were doing it all the time from the beginning of time and they Bible. It was the study of stars and planets and predictions.
I don’t think Otto was being mean, he was engaging him and when asking who is singing teacher was he was acknowledging his success. Ann miller showed love toward tiny Tim but at same time was so smart to be a part of the humor in good fun. Such a positive person.
"I've always had the spirit to play the game" Makes me emotional knowing how well that statement describes Tiny Tim, a true inspiration for us all, though he wasnt perfect the main story is that of a proud American who stuck to his guns, preserved, and broke through even if briefly, into the space that ensures ones name be talked about for probably as long as humans exist.
The most taps in one minute was 1,163 and was achieved by Anthony Morigerato (USA) at Eleanor's School of Dance in Albany, New York, USA, on 23 June 2011.
Dick Cavet sounded so dumb with that introduction. I use to go to a lot of his shows. the shows he filmed on Monday and played on Tuesday were always terrific. He was fresh from the weekend and always razor sharp. By the time he filmed his Friday show that appeared on Mondays, his timing was always off and he was just silly. This was probably a show he did Friday. He completely wasted the Otto Preminger interview.
Some of the people commenting here obviously didn't hear Otto say that he KNEW Tiny Tim. This wasn't their first meeting. They had a rapport. So he felt OK with joking with and teasing Tim, who appeared to me to be OK with it too. Both guys have a sense of humor, know one another and were having fun. So what's all this "bullying" talk? Lighten up
Cavett promised Tiny Tim a chance to do a musical number after the break but never gave him time. I noticed also that Preminger refused to move down a chair so Tim could sit next to Ann Miller, Time had to sit in the third chair.
A book on the history of alcoholism in the theater? Cavett, you are always a clod. Let's dredge up the faux pas committed by those with a tragic disease. What great fun! Quoting specific lines from Tolstoy, Shakespeare and Proust does NOT make you suited for hosting a program.
Tiny Tim lived and died in Minneapolis - and you would run into him. He was exactly like this and an incredible scholar on early 20th Century music.
I spoke to him on a flight for about two hours. A bright, interesting, sincere man.

Steve Hinnenkamp ,
I didn't know her or know much about her,
But BOY could she tap dance!!!!!!!!!
Amazing talent and skill!!!!!
But not so smart that she couldn't see what bunkum astrology is.

Preminger is so full of himself. TINY TIM ROCKS
Tiny Tim came off as genuine and sweet, the way Otto Preminger tried to bully and humiliate him was disgraceful.
@@142chrisjake You are an weird person who gets bullied and humiliated a lot, and it makes you angry to see someone that reminds you of yourself.
@@142chrisjake Spoken like a true incel. Go on a date, masturbator.

Ann is always so great. Thank you for sharing this.
That was a nice reminisce of Jack Barrymore. Otto Preminger was so fricking funny. I miss actual talk shows like Paar, Cavett, Suskind, Snyder,.....
I met Tiny a few times, a super nice guy. I think Preminger was jealous of his flowing locks!

Wonderful upload. So many fascinating personalities. Cleveland Amory's animal rights work history was so wonderful.
He is so cute I can't believe people actually make him look creepy and scary
He’s cute

So cool, this eclectic group all together. That was Dick Cavett. Hard to listen to Mr. Preminger praising Bill Cosby. Life goes on.

Lol, at least Otto Preminger isn't jealous of Tiny Tim having loads of hair! 😂😂😂 A broom sitting next to a satellite dish.
It's so humiliating how that Mr. touches Tiny's hair, wtf! 😡
Hear hear, what a rude man!

WAHHHH! No musical numbers from Tiny Tim!

It's pretty obvious Tiny did a song during one of the commercials, rewatch.
Tiny 07:37
Anne Miller's hair must have really taken a toll on the ozone layer...
Reminds me of the Forbidden Broadway parody in which their "Ann" sings "I killed L. B. Mayer / by hitting him with my ha-ir"
It was actually a wig.
ozvoyager - ha, good one!
I blame Ann Miller's hair for causing global warming with the all hairspray she must have needed.
Hello, you posted a video of Ann Miller in This Is Your Life but RUclips blocked it. Is there another way I can see it?
Preminger was obnoxious 😡
I’ll never understand the fascination with Tiny Tim.
Those with eyes to see and🎶ears to hear💞😏⚘
He's just so different from any other artist in a time where a lot of artists were the same
never married ann miller kept her dyed black strange exotic
She was married three times for only a year or two with each husband. Her second husband, oil man Bill Moss, had also been married to Jane Withers.
oh thats right
She married three times and had a daughter
lol
What a horrible and condescending man, Preminger was! Probably just jealous of Tiny Tim’s full head of hair!
he was joking. They knew each other
