Wealth and fame does not make you a moral and virtuous human all of a sudden. Don’t expect CERTAINT celebs to exude empathy that they NEVER had in the first place💅🏾
I've met clinical sociopaths who reasoned their way into a strong moral conscience. A lot of it begins with understanding basic cause and effect. I've also met empaths who looked away from other people's pain. They punish those who speak of it. If powerful people keep turning into monsters? It's by design. And by alliance.

Something that might resonate with your thoughts in this video is the so-called “prosperity gospel” in the context of American Protestantism. There’s a deep, deep self-justifying morality practiced by a large portion of American conservative Christians that basically amounts to “If I have money, God must endorse my actions.” Combine that with the hyper capitalist attitude of “my right to make money trumps anything that gets in the way of potential profits,” and you have a culture that readily excuses the behavior of anyone who has enough wealth to their name.
15:24 lowkey it would be interesting to see you do a video on this exact topic: Christianity as immunity. But maybe more focused on how religion or religious imagery is either used as an excuse for certain behaviour, like with politicians or specifically black figures like diddy, td jakes and the Carters. Or on the other hand, how religion is used as rage bait, like when artists such as lil nas x or Doja cat use satanic imagery to gain attention.
Thank you so much for putting up legible subtitles and not just using auto-subs. Auditory processing alone can be really difficult for me, and when I’m having a bad day, having good subtitles is the difference between whether I’m taking in information or banging my head against the wall
I can’t describe how much appreciation I gained for you. As an Arab from Syria seeing an American content creator rocking the (Thawra) shirt so bravely is so touching.
This was such an insightful video, I have been so guilty of the whole "They're a celebrity, it's naive to expect them to be a good person" mentality. I think another factor that comes into play with this topic especially as it pertains to hiphop culture is the pre-mature and hyper-sexualization of many of these young black boys (similar to young black girls), and how it is always linked to homophobia. There are so many examples today of prominent black male celebrities putting their sons in these horrible and inappropriate settings (strip clubs, parties etc), and it is always followed by them claiming that it's because they "don't want a gay son"??? And even when we look to the past, why was Diddy bringing a then 15 year old Usher to strip clubs to engage and have "sex" (that's statutory r*pe) with adult women (allegedly)..... not only is it heartbreaking and abusive, but it also further reinforces the idea in these boys' heads that they were simply born to be sexually "dominant" (and are not actually victims of a terrible system) and as a result of this misconception, will grow up to cause more violence against their female counterparts. It's a hideous cycle in my opinion.
Great points. And also there's the flip side of "They're a celebrity, it's naive to expect them to be a good person," which is, "They're a celebrity and talented, so he couldn't possibly be a bad person." Whenever I had a talk with someone about the Michael Jackson allegations, the response was always something like, "He did Thriller and Off the Wall. He's the king of pop." As if that had anything to do with whether or not he was also a pedophile.
@@cv8499Michael Jackson was found not guilty. Multiple ppl have come out and admitted to lie. His home was invistagated by the FBI for 15 years and they found nothing. So, at this point believe what you want to believe
I watched this video twice, once when it came out and once again today with all the recent developments. It's rare that a commentary video becomes more relevant with time, and the research becomes more illuminating and evident as more and more comes out about a particular case. But as more and more details come out about Diddy, this video becomes more and more relevant and more and more of your one liners hit harder. Big congrats! I think we'll look back at this video in like two years and realise that the video, the research and the commentary were timeless
The way some people are 10 toes down for Cassie, but had nothing but questions for Ms. Keke Palmer. And don't even get me started on R Kelly's victims. SMH As for the Caresha plan. I didn't even think of that. If anything it made him look worse -- a man pushing 60 getting in a situationship with a woman in her 20's. How was that supposed to help his image?😂
Idk I saw a lot of people questioning Cassie and just as many people ten toes down for Keke. But the way they treated R Kelly’s victims is unforgivable.
Stop making it up! Plenty of people were saying Cassie is looking for a cash grab, even a few celeb were loud about saying it. Sean settling the case inside of 48 hours along as 30 years of allegations made it easy to believe the worst of him.
It was mostly men who disbelieve Keke, most women were saying that man was abusive from the Usher incident, because a man telling you how to dress is a problem. Men told us we were reaching. Also, his entire social media is manosphere and he espouses insanely, harmful right wing talking points.
I think the creator you’re referencing (that points out the creepy rap lyrics) is Bianca Monique. I’m happy people are really coming for and exposing Diddy. Hopefully people can do the same thing for other billionaire mogals like Dr Dre. I feel like people know about his abuse of women and disgusting behavior but we just to continue to ignore it and he has never been held accountable. P.S I also recommend reading faith evans memoir she talks about diddy’s shady business practices in her memoir.
I have been *very curious* about what Laverne Cox would have to say ever since I found out all this about Diddy… given the way society treats Black trans women, and Diddy’s scary history, I can definitely understand why she’d want to keep quiet tho
Making a character witness is a classic abuser deflection tactic, and you don’t have to be a genius to figure it out. Every time someone is accused or found out, the people who trust them and who weren’t abused go “Oh they couldn’t do that. They’re a nice person.” Even with serial killers, you’ll see their neighbor go “What, Dahmer? He’s such a nice guy.” It’s just human bias but it feels more nonsensical when it’s celebrities that people don’t personally know. Cosby is a great example of that parasocial relationship being used as character witness by millions of people who again didn’t actually know him. Now I don’t think that Diddy has many character witnesses bc he is a bad person to basically everyone around him. So he has to make one very publicly, hence Caresha. I also think MJ did this with McCauley Culkin (hope I’m spelling this right). He has said for decades that MJ never touched him, and MJ fans use this as proof he couldn’t have been a predator. So I actually believe McCauley. His fans have this logic that “well wouldn’t he have hurt the most famous kid he was friends with if it was true?” Pause, isnt it fucking weird a grown man was friends with random kids? But yeah, it reminds me of the Caresha thing, because not only is Diddy parading around his new character witness, but it’s important that she is incredibly famous in her own right. My famous friend who is the exact demographic of my victims is saying I’m a good person! My celebrity is on trial, but theirs is ironclad!!! Don’t you trust their celebrity? Isn’t my new character witness friend your fave?
Idk if you've seen it or not (don't wanna assume) but the last part of your comment reminds me of Josie and the Pussycats (2001) "the MoviePhone voice"
the thing that annoys me about this whole situation is theres so many predators like diddy in the industry who've been accused of doing some dirty things (jay z, dr. dre, etc) but the public picks and chooses who to turn on when they should all be called out but because public loves to ignore the crimes of these ppl because they see the success, theyre not gonna say anything. if jay z wasnt married to beyonce I bet he'd get the same treatment. Tee you phrased it perfectly I was trying to figure out what to call it but consumer endearment is so ridiculous. its why ppl support so many monsters. theres ppl still rooting for r kelly

i’m so glad u subtly brought up MJ, ppl in such denial about him and ino ur audience majority black and u would be taking a huge risk speaking up again him, i also appreciate how u didn’t go down the conspiracy rabbit hole here. i watch so many videos of black youtubers who suggest diddy’s illuminati membership is up or he “pissed off the wrong ppl and now ‘THEY’ are finally comin after him after he sold his soul” which i feel completely disregards these accusations of abuse, specifically against powerful black men, as some rare instances which are out of our control bc there is some puppeteer behind the scenes creating it in the name of satanism, like no, some men are abusive and begging rich, some men get rich and become abusive, that’s it.

That girl is not talented🤣 I will acknowledge that Diddy disgusting self knocked her shine but also, she was just a lightskin with a mediocre voice, that could dance. They're all complicit to crime & should also be held accountable I have to add to the list you gave at the end because it's not just sexual violence happening. Add physical & emotional violence. Diddy (& others) has been manipulating people & physically assaulting people. People knew & they were silenced in some manner whether it's cash, threats, NDAs, whatever.... it's all wrong

I was 10 yr old when the Cheesecake episode of MTB aired and it has consistently been a bar for how really ridiculous or insane TV moments were. It also showed a very young me that when pursuing a passion, to be mindful of people willing to exploit that passion for their own needs and wants (not quite worded like that at 10, of course). When someone knows how desperately you desire something, they can use it against you, we all know this. Thats why when Cassie spoke out I wasn’t remotely surprised. That “relationship” always gave me the ick. Thank you for always sharing your honest thoughts and not being afraid to take people to the wall on their abhorrent actions. Cassie and others deserve justice. Diddy has so much to answer for, and I hope that one day, just like Robert, that his house of cards really falls.
The thing about the cheesecake thing that always stood out was he told them they couldn’t use public transport and when they brought the cheesecake back Diddy wasn’t even there. And cussed them out when they questioned the request saying they can go back to Philly and Miami

What else do we expect from religion under capitalism? Do you know that there were several popes who supported and actively contributed to fascist regimes around the world and yet they were canonized as saints by the Vatican? That should tell us everything right there. It's not about spirituality, it's about capitalist/monarchist propaganda and has been for centuries.

I know some of Diddy's former artists, who I can't name, I've seen his NDAs. They are IRON FUCKIN CLAD. I am shocked that Cassie was able to even escape his hold and was able to tell her story.

Yes! So much this.
@maxmiller843 And combine THAT with the security of repentance? It's adding up in the worst ways 😞

Good to see you feeling better from the cold/flu, Tee! 💛.
So thoughtful of you, thank you!
Thank you so much for putting up legible subtitles and not just using auto-subs. Auditory processing alone can be really difficult for me, and when I’m having a bad day, having good subtitles is the difference between whether I’m taking in information or banging my head against the wall
Same! Auditory processing issues have me on struggle so often 🥺 "pics or it didn't happen" becomes "subs or it wasn't heard"
Both of these hands down
@@cv8499Michael Jackson was found not guilty.
SMH
As for the Caresha plan.
Esp. when she didnt even look like the women, I suspect, he actually finds attractive. Reminds me of Jonathan Major dating Meagan Good.
When I say I was mind blown when I realized how twisted some of those lyrics are… and we were listening to those songs when we were so young 🤦🏽♀️ it’s gut wrenching to constantly learn just how dark the industry is and how BLATANT so much of the behavior is.

He’s such a nice guy.”
It’s just human bias but it feels more nonsensical when it’s celebrities that people don’t personally know.
“We are socialized to acknowledge(and celebrate) the liberating facade of the product and not the oppressive means to produce it.”

the thing that annoys me about this whole situation is theres so many predators like diddy in the industry who've been accused of doing some dirty things (jay z, dr. dre, etc) but the public picks and chooses who to turn on when they should all be called out but because public loves to ignore the crimes of these ppl because they see the success, theyre not gonna say anything. if jay z wasnt married to beyonce I bet he'd get the same treatment. Tee you phrased it perfectly I was trying to figure out what to call it but consumer endearment is so ridiculous. its why ppl support so many monsters. theres ppl still rooting for r kelly
And what power Beyoncé has against the law ? And wasn't Foxy Brown telling y'all to stop making shit up about her and Jay-Z for the one hundred million time not too long ago ? I thought Beyoncé wasn't God ?
@@AngeBiampandou I never said Beyoncé had any power. My point was the public ignores a lot of jay z’s crimes because they love Beyoncé. She’s not above the law but people have an obsession with her and jay z controls Beyoncé.

i’m so glad u subtly brought up MJ, ppl in such denial about him and ino ur audience majority black and u would be taking a huge risk speaking up again him, i also appreciate how u didn’t go down the conspiracy rabbit hole here. i watch so many videos of black youtubers who suggest diddy’s illuminati membership is up or he “pissed off the wrong ppl and now ‘THEY’ are finally comin after him after he sold his soul” which i feel completely disregards these accusations of abuse, specifically against powerful black men, as some rare instances which are out of our control bc there is some puppeteer behind the scenes creating it in the name of satanism, like no, some men are abusive and begging rich, some men get rich and become abusive, that’s it.
i know this topic is really heavy but tee i cannot tell you how obsessed i am with you in that red hair!! every video you post makes me more obsessed with you, so eloquent and well spoken and thought provoking as a content creator.
