You reminded me to once again pull out my huge "The Art Of Walt Disney" and go through it again. It's one of my favourite books. Originally published in 1973, but I have the 1983 edition. Obviously way before the revival of animation at the studio beginning with The Little Mermaid. Lovely video Emily - thank you for sharing!
So fun to see your collection! 😍 Definitely makes we want to add more books to my own collection! There is something so satisfying about flipping thru a physical book…especially in this digital age.
omg I have that Loish book and its my first and last artbook since I love her so much but I need to get more. But OMG you started a new addiction in me which are the "art of" books
Oh! I worked for a company that subcontracted from Disney TV---I was a traditional background artist (gives away my age, doesn't it? :) ) That was pre-digital when we still used cel, board, cel paint and acrylic---also airbrush. Another age give-away is the fact that the books I have are much older than the ones you have like books on the art of Tarzan, Batman, Vilppu books, and even the Illusion of Life (mine still has the dust cover and it's the original publication, not the Hyperion one). Hold on to your collection, you won't regret it :)
Really enjoyed this, nice relaxed and new. Love love love the “ Art of books “ I have a few but definitely need more 😂 I really want Princess and the frog Art of book I’ve seen the odd second hand one crop up for £300 omg it’s gorgeous artwork definitely one on my wish list 🥰 x
Love this video, I'm not an artist or animator but love disney so this has inspired me to look and maybe buy some of these. There is one book I have and you may enjoy that is The Art of Avatar - by James Cameron. It is the background of the art from the film. I'm a big James Cameron fan and have a few of his books following the film work.
DreamWorks made a lot of „the art of“ books actually. All httyd movies, all kung fu Panda movies, the rise of the guardians, etc.
I absolutely love this type of video. Thanks for sharing your favorites 😊
