Agreed! This was my first DVD. I blame 9/11 for this movie being underrated which it came out a month before. It hasn't even come out on Blu-ray yet which really shows how underrated it really is.
This movie from beginning to end was just nonstop funny, what a classic and it's one of those movies that you can watch over and over again and never get tired of watching
Due in no small part to these two goofs being the only members of the main cast to demand to do all their own stunts, which ironically, their characters had the most physical humor scenes in the film.
The music makes this scene all the more hilarious....that and the part where seth green is being chased by the car and the other dude starts pounding on the car and crying LOL
Vince is truly an unsung hero who never got his dues. He apparently retired from acting and became a bartender. Really hope he's happy now, he really was a funny and talented guy.
Its a shame Vince Vieluf didn't get famous after this movie. He is super talented but hasn't had an acting credit since 2010. Race Race should have been his breakout role, and now it looks like it is going to be his only career highlight.
Yeah i just noticed that too, thats crazy lol! When you also think about it its also a reference to the novel “around the world in 80 days” because of the air balloon hes on.
I just read that a few minutes ago on IMDB.. I haven't seen the movie in years and wonder if I had noticed it when I first watched it. What is the significance of this?
I remember going to see this in theaters down in NYC in the Summer of 2001. A lot of fun laughs. This film next to Its a Mad Mad Mad World are great Summer films to watch back to back.
I've had an image in my head for 20 years of a guy running in front of a car while another guy was on the hood and no one was driving. It's so amazingly ridiculous.
Oh my goodness this still makes me laugh SO HARD!!!! The screaming while he's stranded on top of the car and then acting like a 3-year-old is hilarious!! Then the cow milk! Haha!!
this whole scene is freaking hilarious, the screams, the crying, the music, everything about this scene is amazing, especially when the cow get's involved
I don't think this movie works all the time, but it's often funny. I was surprised how it stumbles into a kind of surreal beauty, like at 0:58. Another interesting moment is when the jeep is slowly moving up the radar tower behind one of the brothers, as if it were chasing him vertically, to the tune of Grieg's "In the Hall of the Mountain King." There may be other moments I am forgetting, but those two images were memorable. Maybe, for me, more memorable than the movie they were in.
Some of the pairings don't work as well as others; Green & Vieluf are comedy gold, Jon Lovitz and his family are second, Rowan Atkinson takes some time to get going, but his pairing with Wayne Knight makes up for it. The cutaway antics John Cleese, Dave Thomas and the gang of rich dudes are hilarious too. Cuba Gooding (his "I thought you were a woman" joke is the best joke in the movie) and Whoopi are hit-and-miss, Breckin Meyer and Amy Smart are just boring. The movie is a bit of a slog at the start, but the biggest letdown of the movie is the ending. It's just horrible.
Can please someone recommending to me similar hilarious road trip comedies like this? They are so fun. I just watched Cannonball run, Road Trip, Midnight Run, Smokey and The bandits, Planes trains and Automobiles, Due date, National lampoon's vacation but I just need more and more of this, I love this genre of comedy
well I saw brazil on there and then I saw africa, then I saw the whole of europe and america and thought; jesus christ, it's got the whole world on it, it's a universal sudios cow!
I just realized that in real life, the guy would have been shocked/ electrocuted. The kinetic energy, or I forgot what it's called builds up, that's why the rope has to touch the ground before you can touch it, or with planes, the tires have to touch the ground
I saw the movie last night, only about halfway to the ending, not the beginning, but this scene was one of the funniest scenes I’ve seen in the movie. I’ll rewatch this movie soon, but man did me and my family laughed at some of the scenes with these guys! This movie has practically all the actors I know from cartoon and realistic movies, including good old Mr. Bean!
Ugh, just one more second before you cut into that ad crap. The cow blowing chunks is the funniest instant in the movie for me... for some strange reason.
This film is so underated.
TheSwenglishSimmer Agreed. Waiting for a prestigious film website to honor it almost 20 years later as a great comedy/remake that holds up today.
Agreed! This was my first DVD. I blame 9/11 for this movie being underrated which it came out a month before. It hasn't even come out on Blu-ray yet which really shows how underrated it really is.
@@DisneyMusicVideos I loved Mad Mad Mad World and Cannon Ball Run growing up, so this was a fun modern take on that style.
The critics were the same with Its a mad mad mad mad world and Magnificent men and their flying machines! Any race comedy they turn up their noses
But soooo funny
This movie from beginning to end was just nonstop funny, what a classic and it's one of those movies that you can watch over and over again and never get tired of watching
As a kid, this was the scene that made me laugh so hardest in my entire life
I remember laughing hard in the theater with my cousin
I laughed harder at the Hitler scene.
I made me laugh until it hurts
When I saw it for first time, I was nearly dead because of laughing
I know this movie is full of talented comedians, but these two OWN this movie. Every time I see it, these two make me laugh, and laugh hard.
The guy who played the brother with the tongue piercing should’ve been a regular on Robot Chicken!
Rylosalex ikr, this scene always cracks me up lol
@Lenny Felix
cool!!
Not to mention get hit by cows
@@1992balto
I couldn't stop laughing at that part and the music.....Ha!
Everyone says this, and just out of curiosity why does the music make it funny? Like what does it add? Genuinely curious
Vince is truly an unsung hero who never got his dues. He apparently retired from acting and became a bartender. Really hope he's happy now, he really was a funny and talented guy.
You think Seth would’ve gotten him a gig on Robot Chicken!
@DeckerMediaGroup I'm honestly shocked he never popped up on RC, he and Seth really hit it off together.
@@ShaDHP23just imagine a Rat Race sketch!
Its a shame Vince Vieluf didn't get famous after this movie. He is super talented but hasn't had an acting credit since 2010. Race Race should have been his breakout role, and now it looks like it is going to be his only career highlight.
hwahid8 yeah sad
I thought Lords of Dogtown was his highlight.
Seth Green sick tho, early 2000s some good stuff with him in and with him voicing Chris Griffin is always legendary
For a while I use to get him mixed up with Ike Barinholtz.
@@LoinclothRising I don't see that movie listed on on his IMDb
Wow I didn't notice at 0:37 the spots on the cow was a map of the globe.
Either it's not a real Holstein, or it's a _champion_ Holstein!
XD
Yeah i just noticed that too, thats crazy lol! When you also think about it its also a reference to the novel “around the world in 80 days” because of the air balloon hes on.
Wow watched this movie 20 times and never noticed XD
Thats the Fake Cow!! :D
His brother just screaming and pounding the hood was just comedy gold 🤣
Well that's strange @ 0:38, It shows the map of the world on the cow!
+Matthew Allen great eye, mate
What a catch!
I've never noticed that!!
I just read that a few minutes ago on IMDB.. I haven't seen the movie in years and wonder if I had noticed it when I first watched it. What is the significance of this?
holy shit ferris buehler youre my hero thats a crazy easter egg
I love when he looks up and around and starts screaming 😂😂😂😂😂 I love it 😂😂😂😂
1:08 the scream again!
I love how he throws a tantrum banging on the car! XDDDDDDDD

Dat scream xD
Derpy Whooves IKR! XDDDDDD
0:58 : Seth Green went to the Prometheus school of running away from things. *DING*
I remember going to see this in theaters down in NYC in the Summer of 2001. A lot of fun laughs. This film next to Its a Mad Mad Mad World are great Summer films to watch back to back.
1:11 Vince Veleuf has the BEST scream in movie history LOL
*1:10* always cracks me up..
Logically he should jump in the car and brake but .. 😂😂😂😂
When I first saw this as a kid I thought the guy in the balloon was the one singing the opera 😆
PassTheCemeteryGates haha imagine that
Me too lol I thought it was weird but I always assumed it was some weird victory singing🤣
Lmaooo that's awesome
Dwayne went to the Prometheus School of Running Away From Things
He's running towards the rope, it just so happens it was the same direction the car was going.
They cut the part when the cow sneezes. 😂😂
This is why you never tell anyone your plan lol
The way the music is synced up to the action makes it all that funnier.
I've had an image in my head for 20 years of a guy running in front of a car while another guy was on the hood and no one was driving. It's so amazingly ridiculous.
Seth Green running from the car is hilarious and I can't stop laughing.
Still the hardest I’ve ever laughed at the theater. This entire movie was comedy gold!
Oh my goodness this still makes me laugh SO HARD!!!! The screaming while he's stranded on top of the car and then acting like a 3-year-old is hilarious!! Then the cow milk! Haha!!
I miss physical slapstick humor
Can't resist, "I gotta go Julia we got cows!"
@godisgoodallthetime...👏🤣 classic
Twister reference? nice
this whole scene is freaking hilarious, the screams, the crying, the music, everything about this scene is amazing, especially when the cow get's involved
0:37 That's a pretty decent world map
1:25 COOOOOW 🤣🤣🤣
1:00 I realize it's the joke, but Seth realizes he can just jump to the side, right? xD
He's going for the rope!
He went to the Prometheus school of running away from things
Loool I haven't watched this movie since I was a child, but it's coming to my mind right now for some reason.
One of the greatest comic movies of all time
I don't think this movie works all the time, but it's often funny. I was surprised how it stumbles into a kind of surreal beauty, like at 0:58. 0:30 stunt driver in the white suit in the car
Their screams and cries are the best part of the movie
I'd call this a cartoon in live-action.
His scream sounds like Aunt Petunia’s scream in the first Harry Potter movie 😂 anyone notice? 😂😂😂
The music makes this scene funnier than it needs to be...
1:36 My favorite park idk why 😂
Can please someone recommending to me similar hilarious road trip comedies like this? They are so fun. Without a Paddle
Give me back my key
No
Sprays him whit the milk😂
It's "Libiamo ne' lieti calici" by... well, it doesn't matter, there are a lot of different versions :D
Seth green running from the car while his friend was crying was always so funny to me lol
My favourite movie scene!
The Opera that just played was; La Triviata: Libiamo, ne' lieti calici
pretty sure this is my favourite sequence in the movie
Dude went to the prometheus school of running away from things before it even existed
I always thought it was one of the cows 🤣😂🤣😂 singing opera
The editing is brilliant.
hardware store guy should have his own movie, His perspective.
Seth Green always funny
I remember the first time seeing this scene i laughed so hard i had tears
Tis my favorite scene in Rat Race by far
Still can see the stunt man driving 🤣
The cow at 00:38 has a map of the world on it. KCCO.
WOW! 10 years and I just realised that the key maker is the guy that plays Monroe in Grimm-series!
I guess this is what happens when you became a greedy Wolf lol
Anyone realise the cow has the world map?
Hey! What's Haywire doing in a hot air balloon?
Going to holland!
this scene is the PERFECT meme template
This movie shares some similarities with It’s A Mad Mad Mad Mad World from 1963.
Never talk in front of someone about a rat race or else they will end up stealing your key
Every dad bringing his son to his first day of high school be just like this😂
BEST SCENE! Why did they cut it short??? The cow puked a little on Seth.
i thought it sneezed, but YEAH! lol
it sneezed and yes indeed lol
I thought it puked
Nice, first time I see that easter egg.
Cow at 37 has a map of the world on it! KCCO
joey yo that's a trip
this is my favourite scene from Rat Race
Scotty don’t! 😂
Pity that Matthew Lillard didn't appear in the movie.
Isaac Jenkin how is that pity?
Yeah he should've been the taxi driver the original bloke freaked me out
if you don't laugh you have no soul !
1:03 this part gets me every time
This is like drake and josh lol
20 times watch the movie and never ever stiop I love the movie and my favorite actors
well I saw brazil on there and then I saw africa, then I saw the whole of europe and america and thought; jesus christ, it's got the whole world on it, it's a universal sudios cow!
1:05 - 1:12 "Me Running Away From My Life Troubles..."
Running away from the pandemic and 2020 😂
Give me back my Key
What is it with these two and classical
music! It works sooo well though
Seth Green apparently went to the Prometheus school of running away from things.
0:38
Those real cows except the one being carry in the hot air balloon is fake
Haywire just wanted to go Holland 😂
This film comedy the best ever i watched
and there's also one of the film crew standing behind a cow on 0:41 but i do love the caddy
I just realized that in real life, the guy would have been shocked/ electrocuted. The kinetic energy, or I forgot what it's called builds up, that's why the rope has to touch the ground before you can touch it, or with planes, the tires have to touch the ground

one day i hope they do a cartoon and puppet crossover version of this movie with ed edd eddy doing this scene
1:21 😂
thats some epic cow tipping there
This was the same song used in one of the episodes of The Upside Down Show.
No cows were harmed in the filming of this motion picture??
If I had known who that was when I watched this, I would have wanted Silas Weir Mitchell to keep the key.
There are really people that like, genuinely laugh out loud at this?
Did u see it
1:00-1:16, the best 16 second part of this movie.
the short guy was Ritchie in It 1990
Stop the car. He's having flash backs. Lol
Yes
LA LAAAAAAAAAA !!!!! LA LA LA LA LA LA LA LA LA LAAAAAAAaAAA !!!!
Ugh, just one more second before you cut into that ad crap. The cow blowing chunks is the funniest instant in the movie for me... for some strange reason.

You wouldn’t get away with some of the jokes now though
