Feels so weird seeing someone react to this song when it was such a huge part of my teenage years. KoRn got me through a lot of crazy shit when I was growing up in the 90s.
Issues came out right when I was going through a lot as well. I can't listen to that album without remembering so many things that were going so poorly. Still my favorite by them.
@@Swollen_Goat Issues is a great album
I grew up (2002) listening to Korn, their self-titled album I had on VHS and a cassette of one of their greatest hits with Did My Time were and still are some of my most revisited albums.
Love that you loved that! Korn is just amazing, they were probably the most influential band for my musical taste when I was a teen.
FYI, the mic stand was designed by HR Giger - you know, the Alien guy.
Absolutely wonderful insight to the song breakdown! Korn is fantastic and they are starting to get recognized as one of the greats finally.
That bridge part was very Alice In Chains like with the haunt-ness of it
The mic stand is actually a work of art by the artist HR Giger who designed the creatures in the movie Alien and Species
12:55 I saw the excitement you ALMOST hit us with my favorite “ YEAH YEAH YEAH” line
I got this album when it came out thanks to my brother being older than I was, and then my parents got divorced and we were forced to move from Cali to Indiana. This album was crucial in processing those feelings. Even at 8 years old, even though I didn't really understand everything that they were when writing it, it still felt so real and relatable. (AND YES, I know this album probably wasn't meant to be listened to that deeply by such a young child, but my parents were different with music.)
I love that too! You'd really love hearing more of their music. Right from the beginning, 1995, "Shoots and Ladders" to same year as this one 1999 with "Freak on a Leash" that one has an MTV Unplugged featuring Amy Lee, from 2007, you would enjoy that too, she's amazing. Right to 2010 "Get Up!" featuring Skrillex, awesome. Honestly there is a lot, I hope you get to hear some of it, they're so good.
I loved KoRn back in the day. I haven't been as into their more recent stuff, but their self titled and Follow the Leader albums were my jam. Fieldy's bass technique always gave KoRn their signature crunchy sound. FYI this is not the original drummer (that was David Silveria), but he is really good. You should check out some of the live performances where Jon plays the bagpipes.
Loving the 2000s metal recently! ❤
Howie does not disappoint. \m/
Oh please got back and do first album Korn. Please.
Guess it takes a Jazz master to hear Beck and Devo in a Korn song lol! Awesome, new to the show, and I love it!
Thankx Shedman for digging these songs out of the trunk! Newer generations need to know this sh*t exists.
So many things going on Korn's music\m/ they introduced me to 7 strings and out of this world FX's
(ps: love u Head)
Good job, Howie!
Shoots and Ladders and their cover of Another Brick in the Wall are more amazing tracks
love reactions dave! Just got my korn self titled shirt and linkin park meteora shirt in the mail the other day love both those bands 😄😄
I concur about...extended techniques getting utilized and played with. Jazz flute/beatbox flute, neoclassical pieces for avante garde sake that have to create their own notation for things like flashlight solos, or train whistles, or mouthpiece buzzing, or pedal tones, or putting a sax mouthpiece on a brass horn. Just experimenting. Musical feedback, JD's signature scatting. All of it.
Glad to see you feel the same way about Ray!!!!!! He's the best!!!!!!!
love it forever a korn kid
You must do Freak On a Leash!
So many bags to pull from including bagpipes
Beck release their first album the year before Korn released their first.
"2013 which was 10 and a half years ago"
Aw man
?
You should really check out the queen of the dammed soundtrack ft Jonathan Davis from Korn the studio version video it's 4 songs but is really really good
Check out Korn insane sirus radio filmed it they are just bad ass live never let u down
The tritone chord, the devil's dissonance, is literally the cornerstone to korn's sound. It's almost like some rebel kids learned about it in music theory, and decided to run with it.
Don't judge the rough edge of the band's appearance. Hits play and raging death metal riff begins 😅
can you please react to raven lenae venom or any song from Hypnos you may like it
Veil of Maya Mikasa
301st like, please react to ICE NINE KlLLS - Farewell II Flesh
Blue Dream - DGD?
