@@AhsanMeer it went great! A month later and it still flies like new. I would definitely recommend this technique. You do have to be thorough and also careful to not glue the motor if the break is near there. The arm of my drone was fully snapped off with just the wires attached and but so the repair is holding all the torque of a the rotor. After the repair I was sure the glue would fail and it would randomly fall out of the sky, but it really is as good as new and there have been no issues at all after countless flights.
Thank you very much for this hack. Had both rear arms broke hanging by the wire next to propellers and this trick fixed it all. Test flight it for about 20min straight after the fix and no problems. Had another reassess after flight and the repairs appear rock solid. Double thumbs up to this tip. And just to note, of all drone repair videos on RUclips, no one uses baking soda, even the high tech guys haha and it's the best cheapest option 😁
It actually worked great for me. I did this while I was waiting for a replacement arm. When I replaced the glued arm I tried to break it. It was tough as nails. Twisted the arm, bent the arm and the glue still held. Incredible.
Thank you - that worked out perfectly! Had the front leg broken at the same spot.... And I am sitting in the Peruvian Andes, where you can buy Super Glue, but not spare parts for the Mini :-)
Thank you so much for this! Mine broke in the exact same place and your video helped me repair it quickly. Now I can keep flying until I receive the new arm.
@@srgntcy I actually didn't have to buy a new arm as I was able to keep flying without any problems for 6 months with this solution. Then my gimbal broke so I had the whole drone replaced using DJI Care Refresh.
Great tip. The joint is rock solid now, but I'll go over it again with some gorilla tape to make sure. The last thing I want is my sloppy work failing 300 feet in the air.
I dont usually post on youtube videos but I did this and it worked great! I reinforced it with some duct tape as well but its a great temporary fix until the new leg comes in, thanks!!
Yeah mine just broke and im on vaca so can get a replacement for a while but can buy super glue and have a bit of tape for reinforcement. I will order a full set of replacements when i get back home.
@@_travisimo yep back up and running i used a super glue that had an activator but didn’t use that but yeah worked fine cant see any destabilization at all.

@@srgntcy @adamriley Original Mavic Mini Arm I just bought on Amazon and honestly it's not super easy. But luckily I know how to use a soldering set! Or else I would have just kept it super glued lmao! Still think my minis been having communicating issues of late though! The 1 and only time I snagged a wire on my back deck. Not a fun time!
What I did is a temporary repair, it will never be as strong as new. Only you can decide if you need full strength integrity or if you flying style allows for a weakness to be in place. Good luck.
Damn thanks for this tip. Actual life hack that i can use:D i repaired my drone with this and it actually works now. Ofc i ordered new arm but works for now💪
Weird, same exact arm and spot where my arm broke. It must be a weak area. I followed your instructions using Crazy Glue and baking soda and it seems to have worked. Unfortunately my gimbal is also damaged and I need to find a flat ribbon cable and a new shock absorber as one of the small arms to the absorbing board broke so I cannot connect the rubber dampers on one side.
@@TeachDIY Got a new gimbal, flat ribbon cable but after installing, have an error code and the gimbal tilts to one side. I heard that DJI has it set up where there it doesn't recognize the new gimbal unless you send it in to have them pair with their software. Otherwise it flies great!
This works perfect mine is saved just don’t put to much on or the arm does not close fully it still flys tho so that doesn’t bother me thanks saved me 100 euro
Brilliant! Do order a replacement arm though, this should really only be a temporary solution until you get a new arm. I will post a new video showing how to replace it.
One added piece of advise. Keep your lens cover on. Supper glue vapor is very destructive. Though the glue is no where near the lens the vapor can travel a few centimeters out from the application point. It will settle on the surface and harden as a white crystalline substance. If your lens cover is off, it could potentially deposit onto your camera lens and destroy it. Secondly, I would never trust supper glue on a surface where a pressure is not push or pull. Meaning that supper glue is great for an up or down bond but easily breaks free when a sheering or side to side pressure is placed on it. A plastic bondo would be better if you have access to it. Personally, I would just save some money and send it in for a new arm. If your drone fails in the air and comes down doing damage or even hurting someone, the repair that you have done here will not protect you in a negligence court case. In fact it will only make things worse.
Update: just Express order in a new arm and put it in carefully taking your time. Dont fly with super glue it's not going to hold. I was down 3 days waiting for an arm. Not too bad
I have done quite a lot of flying since the repair and it's holding perfectly fine. I have ordered a spare arm from china but I am not in a hurry to replace it just yet. It doesn't take long to bond together the two broken pieces (maybe 15 seconds), adding the bicarbonate of soda to the superglue sets it instantly.
@@chrislafreniere6101 I have flown at least 15 times since I did the repair( (15 x 20-25minutes) = + - 5.5hours), still going strong. This is supposed to be a temporary repair but I haven't bothered to replace the arm. I will probably replace the arm before the next foreign holiday but for now I am happy enough to keep flying, bearing in mind that there's a weakness in that arm.
Just broke the same arm and found yr vid very helpful. I did the same steps and now bird can fly again! Thank you

What glue did you use?
It's superglue (cyanoacrylate)
Cyanoacrylate does not bond to pp/pe, how did you do it? Did it hold on?

Is it fly normally after that?
Yes, tested with and without propeller guards. Flying perfectly!
Also, still under 250g
What's the point of the baking soda??????
How about folding and unfolding arm now?
All working perfectly normal.

Bicarbonato de sódio

Baking soda when mixed with superglue forms a type of extremely hard, lightweight cement, adding structural strength to the repair.
