      yes you are spot on, and the line 'just a crazy girl with a secret lover', well do u agree that the 'Lover' is actually the 'Radio'

  • @Pixelologist
    @Pixelologist 2 года назад +6

    For my money, Helen Reddy had one of the loveliest and most distinctive voices in 70s pop. But she was also very almost anti-glam - certainly when NOT on stage, she eschewed pretty much everything that typically came with stardom.

  • @dennis2966

    This was, without a doubt, the creepiest song. How can a girl who can mysteriously transport people into her radio not be creepy? I had never considered Riders on the Storm to be a creepy song, and I grew up listening to it. I considered it to be moody and mysterious. But I can see now how it can be creepy.

    FUN FACT Angela: For the Guilty Pleasures songs you reacted to my request Undercover Angel by Alan O'Day (generally considered a one hit wonder from 1977 ?). ALAN O'DAY was a renowned songwriter for many artists before and after that hit of his, and he wrote this song, ANGIE BABY, for Helen Reddy in 1973-74. I say not creepy, just a girl with possible mental illness issues, living in a fantasy world😊

    Angela !! What a surprise ! Didn't think anyone (or many) remembered this. SO coool. Now to listen to the song with y'all. Okay, after listening to the song again and your comments, Riders is by far the better song, but it's creepiness stems from everyday happenings. I think the girl who sucked the neighbor boy into her private little world (forever?) creepier.
