I love how Eric Persson - the typical “villain” at most tables - made people actually love him with this move. Impressive, and of course I 110% agree with him. So good to se a guy like that kid loose his stack to someone who can talk back, haha!
He said in a recent interview he doesn't consider himself so much a "villain" as he does an "anti-hero" and I thought that was spot on. The Punisher of high stakes poker.

Batman dude got there late and was on a good run, acting a little arrogant, I didn't see it all but I guess he may of been under eric's skin leading up to that.
Short summary is he joined late and has yellow envelopes for needling after winning. He won a big pot vs ben and gave an envelope to ben after winning that said "I'm so sorry for your loss".
I think it was just the hand of mr dr batman 98s vs ben's AA's that triggered Eric, and the day before probably helped too

MrDr played the hand so terribly. The only thing he did right was raise pre to 5k. But after 3 players call you, you have to assume someone likely has an ace.. J 9 str8 draw got there, hearts got there. There is like no hand really that he was beating except for Jack Queen.. but he had two queens in his hand so it was even more unlikely Eric had that. Probably could go down as one of the worst played hands on HCL.
And the only QJ calling 50k on the turn is QJ of H
no doubt, I'd forgive him the turn bet, but in the river literally everything gets there, str8, flush, not to mentions FH's, and his all in wasn't even a min raise, and it's pennies to Eric anyway lol

For context: DrBatman prepared letters (the ones Eric threw on his stack) to give to his opponents when he beats them in big pots. Eric referenced a hand where DrBatman went Allin on the flop with 9 high and managed to crack aces against Ben, he doubled up to 250k. He gave a letter to Ben that stated "I'm so very sorry for your loss"

Eric Persson has my respect. For all the times Phil Hellmuth has berated & ridiculed poker players. For all the times Hellmuth used his poker entitlement to get his privileges. Eric is great for poker but he is out of line here if Batman only does the card thing to people who are cool with it. You could have a problem with Batman doing that as a joke but Eric wasnt joking so he is out of line for sportsmanship.

There was a reason why Eric was mad. He didn’t read Batman’s card the day before and said it was bad luck. Dr. Batman said “how’s that working out for you” implying that EP was losing hundreds of thousands the day before and currently on the stream even without reading his tilt cafd. Eric remembered that and held his tongue until he could get him back for that.
Batman was strait up asking for it.

Tbh neither of these people is a good human being. They either are squandering their inheritance or made money by doing illegal things exploiting others. Eric for example is somoene who owns casinos on Indian reservations seeing how he is not Native himself tells you everything you need to know about him. Casinos themselves are very shady business to begin with who prey on people with psychological issues to exploit their inner demons while doing nothing to help them and also bar good players in games from competing labeling them "problematic customers".
MR Batman on the other hand is some spoiled brat from a rich family.
Neither of them are good people. Just saying.
Suggestion: edit in the earlier hand when Batman busted Ben's aces then handed him the needling card. That would story arc perfect with Ben's smile at the end.

It also gives Batman a chance to continue drawing, he sorta played it like he had AhKh or AhQh imo, Im sure that crossed Eric's mind. There's pretty much zero reason for Eric to 3-bet the turn when Batman leads for pot there.

People shake when they have it and when they don't in big pots. The only reliable tell from it is that they are polarized or think all the money is going in.
The only tell there is thats a polarizing hand, and usually that tell is they had the nuts
My hands shake on polarizing bets. I now push in a stack of chips with a slide motion. It eliminates the shake tell.

Eric's acting on the turn bet is perfect, very subtle but he knew that Batman was aware of it, that might be the reason Batman thought that Eric had a marginal hand and only got there on the river.
He also does a good acting job when checked to on the river. He set that play up pretty well.

I actually got the feeling batman was an alright guy and there was no malicious intent behind the cards but still he must know it would rub people up wrong, everyone saying Eric is a great player needs to go back and watch the whole streams of the past 2 nights and the fact he was down over 500k before this ridiculous punt from batman who after his luck out with 8,9 (calling with half his stack pre flop) against Ben's aces thought he was untouchable. I like to watch Eric he's entertaining but don't just watch the highlights, the fact is that he just has deeper pockets than most at the table as nearly anyone else down 500k + couldn't continue.
You know at its peak online durr and Ivy Patrick were all down millions in online play then up millions. Its called the swings of high stakes life. If your bankroll cant take been down 500k at a table you shouldnt be on that table.

One worth probably at least 10M....If not he probably should not be at the big game. I think Ryan Feldman does research on people's finances before allowing them on stream. Once they get vetted they are in, but in the beginning they check to see if you can handle the stakes and not get suicidal if you lose....
