I checked out the Q.Ed app from the chrome store out of curiosity. I'm not really familiar with neural network but I was extremely impressed by what the app was capable of. The ability of the app to grasp the important lines in the multiple videos that i watched really freaked me out. I *aspire* to be as skilled as you!
Try reaching out to professors and researchers in labs and universities near you. You’d be surprised at how often emailing someone completely could yields good results!
Hello! Could you please share your knowledge on financial aid, grants and other relevant scholarships for international applicants. Your guidance and advice is much appreciated. Thank you 🌼
Thank you for your comment! I'm really glad you found the video helpful. I didn't apply for financial aid to any schools myself so I am a bit wary about sharing information about finaid applications. However, if there are any specific questions that you have or you need someone to talk to about finaid, I'm sure one of my friends would be willing to help, so let me know. All the best for application season!
Thanks for watching! There's already a video with some stats right here: ruclips.net/video/6DoDRJYE91Q/видео.html We'll definitely make more in the future though, so stay tuned!
As CalTech has stopped accepting SAT scores what will be their focus on , high school scores or ECs. Also, how many of the undergraduates are international students? Because I have heard that they have a cap on the total international students they can enroll..
Hi Rajwardhan! Yes caltech (along with a couple more universities) is no longer accepting SAT scores. Since the SAT scores were an objective measure of your academic ability, now that they are no longer there the focus will definitely fall a lot more on your high school grades. Since a couple of other universities have stopped accepting scores for this year, this is true in general for applicants this year. However, standardised testing scores play another vital role - give universities a standard point of reference, so they know where you fall on a global scale. I would encourage you to include (in your activities list or essays) places where you have established yourself internationally in anyway. This could be an international competition or an AMC grade, anything along these lines. Thank you for reaching out and I hope we addressed your question sufficiently. All the best!
Grades from 9th to 12th are all considered. However, grades from 11th and 12th are more important, especially if you can demonstrate an upward trajectory in your scores.
Hello! Yes, most definitely. Especially for the next two years. There's a complete moratorium on standardised tests because of the pandemic so they will not even consider the SAT tests that students do submit. Read more about it here: www.admissions.caltech.edu/apply/first-year-freshman-applicants/standardized-tests All the best for your application!
Hey , Thanks for this video :)❤️ Can i ask some thing... Can you please tell me that can I get admission in Cal.tech after doing my B.Sc. on IIT ? Actually i appearing on JEE this year and i am in 12th grade and i want to get admission on caltech after doing B.sc on IIT ...is there any opportunities in this perticular scenario ? If you will clear my doubt i will very thankful to you :) Thanks..
Hi, I'm from a CBSE affiliated Public School in New Delhi and I was wondering if you could tell me about the placement exams that Caltech takes before you enroll? Thank you and Congratulations on being accepted :')
Hi! Thank you for reaching out. I believe the placement exams are strictly after enrolling into caltech. I did not have to take any extra tests while applying. However, after you're admitted (post-enrolling) you're asked to take two diagnostic tests (Math and Writing) as a way for them to allocate a math/humanity class to you for the first term. Caltech doesn't accept the credit system - so in order to skip initial classes such as CS1 or Math 1a, they offer placement tests so you can 'place' out of these courses. More information here pma.divisions.caltech.edu/research-and-academics/mathematics/math-undergraduate-studies/information-for-freshmen/diagnostic-and-advanced-placement-tests I hope I was able to answer your question. Feel free to reach out for anything else! :)
Hi, I am a 11th standard student and I want to pursue major in computer science. So my question is that, do extracurricular activities like MUNs(national level), being a part school counsel and few awards(district level) related to tech helps in acceptance
Hey, thanks for the question! All of these extracurriculars definitely help build your profile, and will be a great addition to your activities section in the common app. They’re also great topics for your supplementary essays, you can check out some of ours in a video coming out this Monday!
Big shout out to Pranay for joining us! What other content would you like to see? Let us know right here!
Does Caltech provide scholarships for international students? And did you got any scholarships at Caltech?
