incredible, beautiful performance . . . I'm in love with this piece all over again . . . everything that is special about this piece has been brought out here
Le Tombeau De Couperin is really a great suite. The Prelude from it was the first Ravel piece I learned. Now I'm playing Noctuelles, but this is so much nicer.
Which one is your favorite from le tombeau de Couperin? I love the Forlane, it's probably my favorite piece of music. The Concerto is great, especially that middle movement, so beautiful (or "lyrical" as the scholars say).
Listening to this I imagine a flower after harsh winter... harsh and cold ground and gentle white flower struggling to bloom in spring.... spring is not far away from here...
amazing piece. learning this song now. one of the hardest pieces ive done, but it is very entertaining to play. im 14 now and hoping to learn more of Ravel's songs.
You guys must listen to Cziffra's version...I prefer it over Argerich or Richter, or anyone else for that matter. The articulation speaks for itself...
Fair comment. The subtleties in Ravel can get lost in haste. Argerich understood this better than most. There is no need to rush genius. Let it unravel at a pace we mortals might approach understanding it.
this was probably done on 2 pianos but im not sure, it might just be a really really really really incredible piano player, i just cant imagine how one person could play it so fast and flawlessly through the entire song and have it so just....impeccable !!!
well hopefully there will be a time when i'm this good. i'm getting there, but time will tell if my hands are swift enough to be capable of such talent.
John Farr Ravel unfortunately did not write for the average pianist haha. Though he could not play some of the more difficult things he wrote like Gaspard de la Nuit.
John Farr I'm also learning this piece. My hands are no where near this fast, but I will learn it with as much time as necessary. It may take years, but I will do it one way or another!
the hanging resolution, with the voicing having the 7th played like that... it's absolutely sublime. If that ending phrase doesn't evoke flowing fountains... not sure what does. Half bad? Are you an accomplished composer? Or a sour critic?
水との戯れ…水の透明感や柔らかさと同時に、冷たい湖の奥深く怖さや暗さも感じますね。

Ravel’s water pieces are my favorite!!
This is a wonderful interpretation. I love how it's right in-between Argerich's and Richter's...
Thank you so much for putting the music up. I'm a so so pianist but I can read the music and it is wonderful to follow it. Adds to the delight.
近代って感じの楽譜ですね!(語彙力)
Merveilleux! On se croirait dans une forêt enchantée! La musique de Ravel m'émeut toujours, c'était un homme d'une grande sensibilité.
Excellent playing. Very impressive performance. Bravo.
天才だ。。。。
Thanks for bringing me here moleman. It is great
God, I love this piece so much.
Magnifique création musicale!
Thank you for sharing. Miss Koyoma has a most ingenious interpretation of this piece,
exquisite playing, one of the best i can find on youtube
Beatiful, Thank You very much.
Beautiful
Michie Koyama is one hell of a pianist! Ha ha ha......Exquistie! Bravo! First prize at the Ravel contest, ya?

What a masterpiece!
best interpretation on the web, bravo!
+Marwan Annouri Argerich?
+Martin Bellido Martha Arguerich is the best for Ravel and Prokofiev.

scientificmusician what about the toccata from the same suite?

I like Louis lortie's 😆😆
Omg yes middle movement concerto!! And I like prelude from le tombeau best even more than toccata.
すごいです

音的に泣けてくる
did not expect that low note to be that heavy haha! I love this piece so much. Such a fun piece to play

You should play Ravel's Le Tombeau de Couperin in the future. :)
Listening to this for a humanities class in school. I normally listen to heavy rock and techno. I actually really like this song.
Not a song.
It's actually Michie Koyama playing
great performance - I like it better than Argerich's - much more artistic, especially in the middle section - thank you for posting
Masterpiece
Peaceful..
Even better than Richter's performance! Best performance of this piece in my opinion.
it's running through my brain bad/good
Your English is pretty good.
4:35 Right Hand. How is that possible!
It says m.g which means play with left hand
It's not just like her...this is her Argerich's playing
For how many people is this piece?
Beautifully fluid and sumptuous -- like Thibaudet. Are you sure you're not French?

Yukio Yokoyama is playing ?
Yukie Koyama :)
thank you !!
Played by Michie Koyama
flawless technique, bit fast mabye?
Agreed! Try thibaudet's version. I would consider that as the benchmark/staple
Reminds me of Richter's interpretation

practice!!!!!!! hahaha
Debussy who?

It's obviously one person. There are videos online of individual people playing it faster than this.
incredible!

Only second to Argerich!
In my opinion, as far as this piece is concerned, Michie Koyama is better than Argerich.
@@takashishirani lol, both of them are the very top level of piano skill.
LOL
I defy anybody to sight read this. And if they can they are a robot.
Jeux d'eau
Watersports?
Water amusements
This is too fast, it has no grace and it sounded like they were struggling to maintain flow.
Last chord was a large disappointment.
youve got to be kidding
@@JS-dt1tn The last chord is indeed disappointing considering the rest of the piece really wasn't half bad.
