A Grand day Out, The Wrong Trousers and A Close Shave were definitely the best of W&G, Were Rabbit and Loaf and Death were really good too but the first 3 were more timeless. Wrong trousers is the all time best.

At the time "Matter Of Loaf And Death" was my favourite, but now i will go with the Were Rabbit (even though i love every each one of them :)) )
I actually loved Were Rabbit and thought it one of the best, although Loaf and Death was only meant to be a short film, not a full-length movie. It's a strange thing - because I actually don't have a favourite or least-favourite W&G movie...they're just all amazing in general - they never disappoint.

Goosebumps every time. It's a lot darker than all the other soundtracks. Very unsettling at times. Gives me the shivers
Which is why this soundtrack, and the whole film in general is an absolute masterpiece. There's some scenes where the music was so effective at conveying emotion that the scene would have been less than half as good without it. The wrong trousers is an absolute gem of a film.
Not gonna lie... the track at 3:25 alone really makes me tear up a little. It really hits you in the feels...
The irony that The Wrong Trousers was broadcasted in 1993, which was a dark year for Britain at that point too....

The train chase is one of my favourite scenes in any film/show, the music is a big part of that
My favourite scenes of the Wrong Trousers are the spying on Feathers, the museum burglary and the train chase because I love the music of those scenes

Yes, those beady eyes, and that blank unblinking stare, very unnerving. And considering his size, yet later on in the film we find out he carries a gun makes him even more terrifying. What unnerves me most about Feathers is that we can never tell what he is thinking, as he is always emotioneless.
Greatest villain in film history, no debate necessary.

The cozy, Horror-esque soundtrack of TWT is so unique. There’s no other style like it really, so in that sense, it’s iconic. I have not come across any other piece of media that has been able to recreate this style of soundtrack and this feel and I think TWT is genius in that sense.

The sheer brass confidence the theme tune rides in on announces this film as a masterpiece from the off. The Wrong Trousers is truly one of the greatest artworks in all of history.
I was born in the very early 2000s, so obviously I grew up with entertainment from the 90s. I just want to thank you for uploading this. In the years before school, I loved Wallace and Gromit, The Wrong Trousers being my favorite of their shorts. Watching it, and listening to this music brings back nostalgic memories of watching this masterpiece. I'm only 15 and I already want to turn back the time!

I love the train chase music
This music is actually pretty dark/creepy, definitely the most unsettling music soundtrack compared to a grand day out and a close shave
I miss the edge that the earlier W&G films had. Yes, the later films are dark in places but they seem to be too colourful and lack that gritty aesthetic that TWT and ACS certainly had.
Plus the music is more mysterious in them for sure.

I was born in 2003 and I'm surprised I grew up with a VHS copy of this including Chicken Run. They were the only movies I played on my VCR player. Hearing 3:25 makes me miss how easy being a kid was.
I still remember watching TWT and seeing the train chase. I though, How did they do this so well? The part where Gromit has to continue to lay down more track is genuinely very tense but funny! I remember watching the ardman documentary and they explained that while they were making the chase thy sometimes had to put three hands on the Gromit puppet to make the fast effect of him laying the track down. Very good series!
Have to be honest with you, the track: Gromit Leaves Home, gets me every time because the scene itself is just so sad.
fr got me tearing up, the entire film has so much variety and mixed emotions it's honestly perfect

I remember watching this a kid, so having to hear this was nostalgic for me, and if I remember correctly, the pitch for the music didn't sound like it did in the short film in this video, it's a bit high, thankfully, the DVD release had the correct pitch, so there was no problem watching all three films on the DVD, I have Audacity so I could make it sound like it did when I watched it.

unlike the US version which has the lower pitch audio and they brought it back for the Blu-ray re-release and I hate it. :(

@@GreatWestern175 Its a play on words with the original phrase "No use beating about the bush" where, in this instance Wallace is in, he's in denial that he needs help with the money issue after Gromit's gift.

Sounds lower to me than what I remembered. I had the 2001 DVD a decade ago and wanting to buy it again.

Watching TWT back now and hearing the soundtrack reminds me of how dark and unsettling this was to watch as a kid. Still freaks me out now haha, I remember the first time I watched this was when I got the dvd for my 8th birthday and most of the friends at my party couldnt watch past the scene where Wallace enters the museum because it was too scary. Tbh watching it back now and the choice of music used in this film, i can't say I blame them really😭😭 Aardman , I love the different series you have created especially Wallace and Gromit, but why did you make this one so creepy 😶

I noticed that the soundtrack here is pitch down a little bit from the original you hear in the short. if you'd like, I could tweak this video, restoring it to it's original pitch. Perhaps even segment it so you have each individual piece of score available. Only if you'd like for me to, of course.

What I do with the US version is to make the audio pitch higher because that’s how it should really sound like and not in a lower pitch which ruins the action of all the first 3 classic

How did you get the museum escape music to be so clear? The only thing you could hear while watching it was sirens and alarms.
Does anyone know where to the find the original organ music from this film? I hate the modern replacement versions and want to make my own edit restoring the music to the original.

I still have an old VHS somewhere that has it. The organ record being played by the Penguin whilst Gromit sits in the kennel… I know one of the melodies is ‘Happy Talk’, not sure what the other is though. I’m not referring to How Much is that Doggy in the Window but another one
The song that plays when Feathers changes the channel on the radio and in the first scene of Gromit trying to sleep (before the one with “Happy Talk” in the original edit) is “Tie A Yellow Ribbon Round The Old Oak Tree”. It’s the only one of the non-Julian Nott songs to remain in the copyright-edited version of TWT (as I believe it’s a public domain song).
Not sure what the classical melody is that’s playing before Feathers changes the channel, though Gromit has a Bach record in his room iirc so it might be that. That melody is also intact in the copyright-edited version of TWT.

US version.
Sounds really dull unless you video edit it with Audacity on computer or do it easily with InShot on IOS.
