A cyclopean, moldy, eldritch upload. No mortal mind can easily conceive the sheer vastness of the mindbending architecture of these crumbling, antediluvian recitations. Thank you!
I’ve had a terrible cold for the past few days. i’ve been laying in bed falling in an out of sleep with this video playing in the background. This video, in combination with my fevered mind, have given me to most intense twisted dreams ive had in quite some time. It almost makes having a cold fun. Thanks Ian!
I started reading the Cthulhu mythos when i was 13 years old. Now, since i found this, I sleep to it and my dreams are so interesting. *Thank you HorrorBabble.*
Its Ian Gordon mostly. Theres a few other voices sprinkled in. This dude has the most relaxing voice ive ever heard. Ive had some wild dreams since i found this channel.
@@tomtom86004 great voice for sure, though I am very partial to quinns ideas a former asoiaf channel thats switched to sci fi and inbetween got me hooked on lovecraft after I used to avoid it over the authors known very prevelent racism. Some stories I can not stand if its like everywhere, but in mn others I can ignore it as that character just being an ahole
The narration is incredible. I consume audiobooks like crazy so Ive suffered through countless awkward narrations of all kinds of stories. This is one of the best narrations Ive ever had the pleasure to experience!
Its because of content like this that im thankful for youtube and the people that make it more than worth taking advantage of. Thank you for your hard work.
@@Wppk765 Love how even the bloody pilot feels the need to remind everyone who wrote the Necronomicon. You know, just so you don't confuse it with John Crumpton's Necronomicon.
I love this namely because I can sleep to this and wake up with it still playing. I have night terrors that get BAD when I'm in a silent room so I have to have some kind of noise playing. Music is difficult due to tune and beat so audiobooks are usually my go-to, but many aren't long enough and due to being on mobil, cannot be looped. So yeah, I appreciate the effort that I know went into this long-AF video and absolutely love all those that did this.
i don't know if you like comic books, but im the same way so horrorbabble and comic's explained are my go to for the same reason, they also havce 8 plus hr videos
First half of my life i suffered with those, maybe it was age or maybe it was gaining some control over overwhelming life situations, but the night terrors passed. Wont be forever ✌️ i dont dream instead, but i have silence in my sleep now, no weird invasive stress injections and desperate scenarios. (Honestly i think it was making a change in my life and finding some real stability, feels like that was it, and they do pop back up in heavy stress situations, just nearly never). I wish you well, know its horrible and beds are not designed for us. ..where are the mattresses and pillows with fans built in 😅 Get well soon 🙂
there is something so comforting about listening to horror when one has some time of anxiety disorder ^^ lovecraft, a voice from darkness, the magnus archives, mordeo if only they did not bomb it with adds, dracula, frankenstein, the mistholm museum of mystery, morbidity and mortality, . . . . and if there is something that is not long enough I often loop it. my favorite lovecrafft stories "the case charles dexter ward" and "the thing on the doorstep for example
Hello Ian Gordon. You did an excellent job reading these Lovecraft stories for us all to enjoy. It isn't easy reading Lovecraft either silently or especially aloud. However, you captured the particular tone of him very well. I'm totally blind, and have been reading audio books most of my life. Thanks again for such a great treat for us all to enjoy.
Now that winter is over I started taking 2-mile walks every evening, after sundown. Listening to this while I walk through the shadowy parks and trails of my small town
What a phenomenal upload. I've always wanted to get into Lovecraft, but know I wouldn't make time to read it. Listening while I do house work was absolutely perfect for me, and the quality of this narration is exceptional. I'll be buying some merch as a show of gratitude, thank you so much for this.
I finally finished this masterpiece collection of tales. Ian, you outdid yourself on this feat. There are probably no words to describe Lovecraft's art of storytelling but genius. Thank you so very much.♡
Ian fucking Gordon.the voice.the menace.freaky bastard.this is how Lovecraft should be told.looking forward to my nightmares.amazing upload.thanks Mr Gordon.
I love listening your readings and playing Cryo Chamber's Lovecraft inspired dark ambient music low in the background. Azathoth, Cthulhu, Shub-Niggurath, Nyarlathotep, Yog-Sothoth makes for super creepy background dread.
Man, the combination of your voice and the slightly grainy, scratchy recording is just... perfect for this sort of story. You have become the voice in my head when I read Lovecraft.
I think this is such a fantastic beast of a video, as remarkable in content as it is in scope and style and quality. And to think that not too many years ago the best way to listen to Lovecraft was downloading scratchy cassette rips. Thanks Ian!
Among the best horror ever set to paper. You who took the care to assemble such a voluminous tomb have ensured its endurance for decades to come. My sincere compliments.
I have listen to all these story's but i also ''haven't''. When i have hard time falling asleep i put on one of the H.P. Lovecraft audio books and listen, drifting slowly to deep dream while imagining all the scenes and characters that the story tells, only to forget them in next morning exeapt the begining part where the scenes start to blure and the voice begins to be just a noise. To me H.P. Lovecraft story's are comforting with there mystic aura and descriptions. al tho i do remember one dream, where i was falling or flying towards a black hole around which shine rainbow colors and came defending yet also soft like cotton noise or voice while 1000 fingers touched my back in warmth and comfort. Ether way, great work m8! I hope you are sleept well after this long work.
My dude I hope you understand the real appreciation I have for all this work you did. this is incredible I've been looking for exactly this for so long.
I've only listened to a few of your productions so far, and mostly not even in the Cthulhu mythos. You bring everything to life so well! Your tone and cadence is wonderful at bringing out the horror in the shorter (20-30 minute) stories, so I'm excited to have found this treasure trove of audiobooks. Delightfully horrid listens, and it's great to have access to the texts themselves to catch the more archaic language and the names that auto-gen subtitles absolutely mangle. You've whetted my appetite for a much deeper dive into this cosmos and served me up a beautiful all-you-can-eat buffet. Thanks so much for all your time and effort!
Just finished the whole thing took me a while , but wow these stories were amazing I'd always been interested in hp Lovecraft but never read any of his work, thanks so much for this your narration was perfect. I will have to read them again for myself now
Me too. Ian's readings are the only way i can sleep anymore, sadly enough. I'm broken. For good, I'm afraid. But oh well, I'll finish this hopefully...
This guy is still hearting comments from only a few days ago on a video from 2018! What?! Also, I watched the whole video over the course of roughly 5 days...
I'm listening through (bit by bit) - and wanted to thank you for your work. My 16 year old daughter just got into Lovecraft and she loves your recordings! As do I! She loves your recording of The Nameless City, and is listening through the whole C'thulu mythos. Its wonderful sharing this with her. My thanks for the amazing efforts and thought you put into these.
Hey man, great reading of The Hound! Never one of my favorite stories by HPL but you truly made it come alive! Excellent choices of background sounds throughout the stories too.
Thank you for putting your time into this. 22 hours of pure determination. Your voice flows like a river when you speak ans its hard to put the headphones down when you listen to it. You never cease to amaze.
Found my new favourite author and set of stories. By far the best collection of stories I've ever heard. 10/10 best 22 hours of my life, Will listen again
Yup. My favorite RUclips upload ever. Not only is it 22 hours of HPL but it's more frightening narrated by you than reading it. Maybe I should learn to read someday. A masterpiece ! 👍
your awesome i love this series. thank you so much for taking the time to piece this together. ive yet to finish the video but i still love it. you rock!!!
Hats off to you! Quite the undertaking, and impressively produced, with consistent uploads. Loved listening to these as they came along, and its awesome that youve compiled them!
I sleep to these stories. It's not that I find you boring, but your voice is so relaxing ☺️☺️☺️ Your tone and cadence is just so soothing, and I love the piano piece when you introduce stories.
@@longgone696 the joke is before the video, they thought it was 22 minutes long as you don't see many 22 hour videos, and the "oh okay" was them realizing it was in fact not a concise review but a reading of all the cthulhu mythos
My man.. Instant sub. Many youtubers will NOT do this. A video this long is what i love! This is the one peice or naruto version of RUclips videos! Thats a compliment i promise. Also super high quality audio! Making me want to keep listening. Thank you for your time and effort
Maybe it’s just me, but I had headphones when I listened to Henry Akeley (Whisperer in Darkness) speak, and I think there was some very cunning and subtle audio editing going on. Very well done! (Or I’m hearing signals from Yuggoth, of course, in which case: oh dear.)
What a marathon! But it is the perfect accompaniment for a lone yarnivore crocheting at the witching hours. Thank you immensely for the time and effort put in to bring us such a fantastic collection!
Instantly subscribed once I found this gem! I've not read these stories since I was a kid in school yet enjoy them even more today. Thanks for this level of dedication you're a legend
I just wanted to go beyond lurking hideously and thank you both as much as I can for the great service you have both performed. From your very earliest uploads - Dagon almighty how long it’s been - it’s been obvious you two are a cut above and apart from the rest. Sadly nowadays the only time I really come back to RUclips is to listen to the latest from Horror Babble since I now have a huge Audible library and just so many hours left to live. Tonight I was inclined to bolster my Cthulhu section and you can guess what i found - The Ultimate Lovecraft from Horror Babble. You and Dr Creepen and Drew Blood have all rightfully made the jump to Audible. Oh yes and the forever manic Jason Hill too but I digress. Do I ever digress. As a Horror Babble fan from unthinkable Stygian depths of time I thought I would buy your collection. After purchasing it I saw to both my delight and amusement the bloody thing is 52 hours long !!! 52 hours of one of the greatest horror author narrated by two of my eternally favorite narrators. So thank you so much for assembling this leviathan collection for me to enjoy and revisit for months or hopefully years to come. I am sincerely grateful for all the work and time and excellence you’ve invested in the most classic horror. I also couldn’t help notice a rather large collection of ‘Sherlock Holmes vs Cthulhu’ books. My guess is they’ll be either the silliest thing I ever had the misfortune to listen to or they’ll be very entertaining. Are they being considered in a Horror Babble presentation ? There’s another omnibus i would buy in an instant. So much depends on the narrator and simply the way you say ‘nothing’ and ‘roof’ establish your merits in that department. Please give my best to Warren. I know death is no day at the beach but he simply must keep a stiff upper lip insofar as decomposition makes that possible. A great poet - I believe it was Emily Dickinson - once said “Over strange aeons even death may die”. Warren would do well to keep that in mind and stop being such a big baby. I hope this helps. Thank you again o Great Ones of Horror Babble.
I leave this playing throughout the day, genuinely don't know how many times i have finished this since i found it? I have this on most days( 5/7 ) My favourite story has to be "At the Mountains of Madness" just something about it intrigues me!
I've been listening to nosleep/creepypastas for years and it's interesting to hear stories that inspired so many of them I love the writing style and feel very inspired myself 😊
This is fantastic, I love this, I..., I have no words to descrive how happy this makes me, all I can say is thank you, really thank you for this fantastic audiobook

A cyclopean, moldy, eldritch upload. No mortal mind can easily conceive the sheer vastness of the mindbending architecture of these crumbling, antediluvian recitations. Thank you!
Brilliant! Thanks, Matthew!
there are no mortal minds by the nature of reality alone, I agree tho vastly interesting brain food
My mind reeled and grasped for purchase as I finally understood the madness that had been set out as trap for my perusal

I’ve had a terrible cold for the past few days. i’ve been laying in bed falling in an out of sleep with this video playing in the background. This video, in combination with my fevered mind, have given me to most intense twisted dreams ive had in quite some time. It almost makes having a cold fun. Thanks Ian!
It doesn't sound like fun - but I'll take your word for it hk! Get well soon. Ian

Whomever is reading, their voice fits wonderfully with Lovecrafts works. 👏👏👏
Thanks!
Its Ian Gordon mostly. Theres a few other voices sprinkled in. This dude has the most relaxing voice ive ever heard. Ive had some wild dreams since i found this channel.
It really is shockingly good
@@tomtom86004 great voice for sure, though I am very partial to quinns ideas a former asoiaf channel thats switched to sci fi and inbetween got me hooked on lovecraft after I used to avoid it over the authors known very prevelent racism. The narration is incredible. I consume audiobooks like crazy so Ive suffered through countless awkward narrations of all kinds of stories. This is one of the best narrations Ive ever had the pleasure to experience!
Thank you!
You know what, I like some of the black library stuff. The Horus heresy and side stories are mostly narrated Pretty well
Little known fact: 'The Mountains of Madness' was the direct inspiration for the "Happy Feet" screenplay 😮😂😊❤

Written by a "mad arab" not sure how well that'd go over today

Glad you enjoyed it, Joshua!
Hope you are doing good Joshua!
Great contribution to the Lovecraftian community
It’s my sleepover and I’m choosing the movie.
Hahaha 😂😂
Holy crap, I think the length of this video counts as an Elder Being. Absolutely stellar. ;) Thanks for this guys.
The uncountable eons of cosmic age relative to our lifespan really is equivalent to 11/12s of a day relative to online time ;)
:-)
Now that winter is over I started taking 2-mile walks every evening, after sundown. Listening to this while I walk through the shadowy parks and trails of my small town
What a phenomenal upload. I've always wanted to get into Lovecraft, but know I wouldn't make time to read it. Listening while I do house work was absolutely perfect for me, and the quality of this narration is exceptional. I'll be buying some merch as a show of gratitude, thank you so much for this.
Thanks for listening, Bryan!
I put this on before going to sleep and the radio parts in At the Mountains of Madness scared me awake. XD
ShroomyK for me it was dozing off towards the end of whisperer in darkness when the mechanical voices starting discussing...things. Wide awake!
Bed time stories just hit a new level completely for me.
I use these tracks (and others. Try An Index Of Metals, by Fripp&Eno) for my ttrpg Call of Cthulhu.
Thanks Ian!
I love this narrative! The reader gives it a really spooky feeling... What a voice. Wow!
So...the talented gal reading "Zadok" in The Shadow Over Innsmouth...is her name really Jennifer Gill? Perfect!

Only one word to describe both author and narrator: masterful.
Great reading, and I love the subtle sounds in the background. Thank you for making my long commute more bearable!

This series is beyond description. Only in a state of utter madness can one possibly grasp a fraction of its hideous unimaginable countenance.
Lol does anyone else listen to this EVERY SINGLE NIGHT? I have the best dreams. I'm going to take the view count to a 100k.
I am beginning this epic in short sequences. Thank you for all the time that it took to record these tales Ian.

A 22 hour hp marathon read by Ian Gordon?... Ian, if we did that your fans would all be quivering mounds of jelly...
He didnt read it all in one go. Refer to description.
Pat, Bob Neufeld would be infinitely better
Who scored then 😄🤭
I've only listened to a few of your productions so far, and mostly not even in the Cthulhu mythos.
Whisperer in darkness the story I thought I wouldn't like but fell in love with
Just finished the whole thing took me a while , but wow these stories were amazing I'd always been interested in hp Lovecraft but never read any of his work, thanks so much for this your narration was perfect. I will have to read them again for myself now

But I cant, I just know bits of it now because I slept trough half

It's wonderful to go to sleep
Me too. Ian's readings are the only way i can sleep anymore, sadly enough. I'm broken. For good, I'm afraid. But oh well, I'll finish this hopefully...
Why does the narrator sound like Ian McDarmid? I almost expect him to unexpectedly say: “did you ever hear The Tragedy of Darth Plagueis the Wise?”😂😂😂
"Good...!"
Finally finished this after 4 weeks of listening on and off. I must say it was an experience I'll never forget, thank you.

I have this on most days( 5/7 )
My favourite story has to be "At the Mountains of Madness" just something about it intrigues me!
