  • This is part of the Harvey West Film Archives. Harvey sadly passed away several years ago after a courageous battle against cancer, however I've been entrusted with all of his old, silent 8mm films.

    I'm so happy you are posting these. Harvey was one of the relatively few people I have met that were/are competent race drivers and fans as well. I enjoyed every minute of the time I spent with him at the track. He was a great guy and the picture of amateur racing.

    Great video. Donnybrooke's pits were the pits. For a decade, Donnybrooke/BIR had great professional races including Can Am, Trans Am, F5000 and IMSA. Then, the track went with the NHRA. It has hosted the modern Trans Am, but that is a joke compared to the real series in the 60s and early 70s.
