    Come on Bob, stop trying to be clever! Everyone knows if you left your finger on the start/stop button just 1/2 a second longer it would and stop and start perfectly.

    The 508 is absolute peach 🍑
    If u want a German car u buy a German car. I was in a new Audi A6 the other day and from my perspective it wasn’t perfect, like the 508 isn’t perfect for some people.
    I absolutely love the small steering wheel and I have no problem with the infotainment system at all.
    Every journalist is complaining about how u have too push twice to correct the air conditioning, But at the same time love the layout with less buttons. 🤷🏼

      Thankfully we aren't all the same otherwise life would be boring, many many people don't like the small steering wheel so there's two sides to every story

    • @dufonrafal
      @dufonrafal 4 года назад +1

      @@BobFlavinVideo I'm not saying otherwise, but most people like it. And personally, it's mostly with the "traditional" setup that I struggle to see the dials.
      What I'm saying, is that you can't say that Peugeot should get rid of it because it's bad when there is a lot of people who like it and it's selling really well ;)
      Also, you have some petty complaints, while the touchscreen is bad, the start/stop button just need to be pressed for 1 second and the rubber mat in the boot is an accessories.

    Why do all you car reviewers bleet on about the steering wheel, I've had peugeot the last 3 years all with the small wheel, yes it's different when you first own it, but after a short time it's just a wheel you don't notice, in fact after a while of ownership and you go back to a large wheel, it's the large wheel that now feels odd and feels like a trucks steering wheel. Jesus give it up

      @@stranarn1 Well Peugeot has done something to adress this "issue" (not a big one mind you): one of the ways is to reduce the wheelbase of the car and they certainly have compared to it`s precdecessor:

    Passat drives worse, looks worse, is expensive (with R line, still looks worse). All it has is better touchscreen. A boring car for boring people. Like the rest of MQB gang. A 508 (or any French car) has to be different. If it had ticked all the boxes, it would be another Passat (boring). I'm happy that there are companies that dear to be different (somehow, these are usually French :) or Italian). Anyway, overengineering point is valid ;)

My wife had one when I met her back in the day and it broke her and my heart. I have driven friends 508 saloon and it just isn’t for me. I wouldn’t touch one with a barge pole. Passat and superb far better for similar money. Mercedes e class wagon is the best in class

  • @pauladams5673
    @pauladams5673 3 года назад +2

    You set the steering wheel much too high, lower it as it's designed to be and it all works very well.
    You criticise the cruise control but mine works intuitively, easily switching between speed limiter and cruise control, with both speed limit presets and manual adjustment. Far superior to steering wheel mounted cruise control with fiddly buttons, as on VWs.

    • @ln5747
      @ln5747 8 месяцев назад

      No the steering wheel really doesn't work, not for everyone. Had these many times as work rentals and they just aren't for me due to the steering. And the interior/car is somewhat cheaply built under the veneer.

    Had one recently on hire. Took it back after 5 miles as I too felt I was looking out of a letter box - it felt dangerous it drive with such poor visability (in all directions). I may be 6'5" but this just seems to be designed as form over function. And as for the ridiculous piano keyboard button across the dash ......

I own a 141 Peugeot 308 and have alot of people say its a far nicer car in looks and how it drives and how fuel efficient it is compared to VW Golf's (really don't see the hype towards them)...
