Excellent video as always! I was in a similar situation back in the 90’s, I purchased either 100 or 200 issues of Predator vs Magnus Robot Fighter so I could get Unity #0 platinum and gold copies for free, yayyy! I look at all those books every time I look at all my other books. After 30 years, I think I’ve given about 10 away. I might want to buried with them so they can be with me forever. Lol
The other thing to consider is that if you pay $1400 for the collection, you could have made $42 in interest on the money at 3% interest, every year for doing nothing.
I’ve been buying these boxes from warehouses for a few years. I literally buy lots of boxes then pull like 10 issues of each and put them in my 0.50 bins. And I get them around 0.10 a book but there’s so many out there. But I can only move them at cons where people are ecstatic to find cheap bins. But the big catch is they gotta be close so I can go pick up tons in my box truck. And ya gotta work your ass off lugging them to small cons.
@@ComicBookInvestments honestly I don’t know but i bought from a couple warehouses and I’m not kidding several other warehouses literally reached out to me trying to sell. It’s an epidemic I swear 1 just reached out to me from San Francisco. His letter said I heard you buy bulk I’ve got 200 pallets at around 32,000 books per pallet are you interested at 0.10 a book. Problem is he’s a 25 hr drive there and 25 back so I had to pass I can only get 8 pallets in my truck. So it would cost me more in gas than it’s worth. And I’m not kidding there’s 100s of these warehouses like this. And everyone of them gives a different reason. Personally I think it’s mostly new series that flop and they get offered bulk deals on them. I just bought 10,000 brzrkr’s that warehouse literally had 100,000 of them he actually admitted he bought tons for the ratios 😂
It’s for ratios. Also comic shops get stuck with a lot of modern so it all gets bulked out usually forgotten in storage or warehouses indefinitely. Mile high and new dimensions were known for great bulk warehouse deals back in the 80s and 90s. Unfortunately now Todd charges $300 a long box but there are still some good warehouse deals out there you just have to look for the good ones
That's probably what that person thought that had the warehouse of Fantastic Four 48 comics.... these are only worth $0.12 apiece, and I'm stuck with tons of them!
Time to make comicbook art. Dice & slice those books and make a life-size paper mache Mario bros jumping mushroom or Pokemon characters, maybe that'll sell👍. Good luck
Another thing is potential damage to the comics inside the case. Back in the day they used to bind them with twine so potentially many of the top and bottom issues were damaged. If they are packaged better than they used to then possibly there's no damage but in reality you may have to consider in a box of 200-300 that maybe 25-50 could be damaged beyond collectablity. Also eBay takes their percentage fees off of the total sale, including shipping and taxes so the stench of regret at selling $2 an issue is really bad for all that time an effort just to sell one issue at a time 😅
That’s right I forgot they take it off the top including shipping. So if you charge $6 for shipping. You lose the 30 cents per transaction fee. Plus 1.20 if it’s $2 book and $6 shipping. So that $2 book you walk away with 50 cents. Roughly. Totally not worth it even more.
I don’t usually buy very covers unless they are comic con exclusive. The reason why is because 98% of variant covers don’t even sell for what you buy them for. The copies that are worth money at first print and miss prints. I just got my hands on a misprint fantastic four #195 and xman #5 1:25 variant
Maybe you can actually help me because you seem to be in comic books longer than I have. Have you heard anything about the fantastic four #195 error. I can’t find any actual pricing on it. What do you use to price your comics? The three listings I seen one was for 69 one was for 120 and then there was the one that I got.
But think of all the space it would take up. Also someone made a good point you have to bag and board all those. And it would take years to get through all of this. In the end I don’t think it’s worth it. That is why most people passed
That's what will destroy the comic book market!! And it's getting worse money hungry idiots are producing than that market can handle!! It happened with baseball cards Etc,. Overproduced, no money!! I stopped collecting comic book's when the freaks started having superman Kissing Batman in the dark! And power girl getting in bed with super girl!!!! I now just collect comics from the 50, 60, and 70's. The rest is garbage for the exception of a few modern B. M. And A.S.M'S. Other than that. They're Garbage And the idiot's are REPRINTING just about everything under the sun!!!! I wouldn't invest in that crap, unless I got them a dime!!! Bottom line. Keep your old 60, 70, and some 80's to make some cash!!! Of course, that's only my opinion!! 🤔
"Boxes Of Paper" ... that sums up my whole collection. I own very expensive paper!
Wouldn't be surprised if Marvel was just giving away that dreck.
Tell them to sell it to Mike High. Chuck might even let them touch his hair if they are lucky
Lol. That guy is something else.

Learn the fine art of making piñatas.
Wow. Thats alot of issues.
sounds like something CHUCK would buy

very true
Variant covers are the kiss of death pretty much.

Why do these warehouses have them? Ya it’s a massive pain. Hard to sell them

Modern comics will never be worth the same as vintage comics
HERE'S A COMMENT FOR YOU !...
Always good content here.
Thanks
Wow! You should’ve told this story in October! A true horror story.
You're right. Maybe I should've saved it for Halloween.
First of all you crack me up dude secondly that person's got a nightmare OMG😮
They should sell them to ComicTom. Perfect fillets for his mystery mail call.
I asked him. He said no.
I think a WhatNot seller would take a chance on this lot.
the issue is there is 200 plus of each book. I talked to what not dealers, they said no
@@ComicBookInvestments Surprised. It is a lot of a single book.

I wonder if people are buying them off the back of distribution trucks? That used to happen all the time in the '60s and '70s.

I only buy variants if I love the cover…🤷♂️
That’s how it should be
If you had a comic shop, bought it for .25 cents each and sold them for $1, it will still take time, but it will eventually make a profit.
But think of all the space it would take up. Also someone made a good point you have to bag and board all those. And it would take years to get through all of this. In the end I don’t think it’s worth it. That is why most people passed
@@ComicBookInvestments I forgot about bags and boards, good point.
Sounds like they worked for the printer
Did you address cost of bag and boarding all these books? If you did I just missed it.
I did not. But that would be about 10 cents per book. If the person does that. Not to mention the time
No FOMO!
O the variant comics. What caused the 90’s comic crash
Wow what a waste of trees
Dang how many ratios did they have?!
I think it was around 125 different boxes
I know people have these slabbed in a 9.8.
What’s your black and white tattoo?
My wolverine tattoo?
@@ComicBookInvestments On your left arm? :)
Submitted them all to CGC and try to get 9.9- 10
It’s so hard to get a 9.9. Think of all that money you’d spend hoping for that though
@ComicBookInvestments it was a joke
I'll offer 2 cents a book no more.
must have taken a major loss.
Only thing I can think of
That's a shame.
Sounds like pallets of 🗑
Variants 🤢🤮
