It's called insecurity and he's braving it like most people are in the gym. Fair play to him.

Pull ups and Dips + hanging leg raises for abs and side laterals for shoulders would be a better choice. Or choose kettle-bells for a weights workout if time constrained. These exercise work multiple muscles at once. Isolation exercises like curls only work 1. You should not run if overweight use low impact cardio like cycling walking or rowing, But anything is better than nothing. Nutrition is the most important element, even more so when over 40. Just stop eating processed foods will be the best decision you can make. or allow yourself them if you hit your calorie targets for the week. Invest in a powerpod for running or power meter for cycling to get accurate calories burned. As you get fitter iand ncrease muscle weight you will burn more calories. So losing lots of weight does not really help you, just lose some fat and build some muscle.

I like the idea of doing lighter weights now, and focusing on higher reps of good form. Going to the gym lifting heavy weights is a chore

The only way to grow muscle and increase strenght is lift heavy weights. The heavier you lift the stronger you become. Multiple Mr Olympia winner and legend Dorian Yates has proved there’s no benefits to multiple sets/reps. One warm up set followed by a working set of a minimum of 6 reps to failure works. In and out the gym in 30-40 mins.

Greetings, regarding the exercise at 3:50 sec, may be considered as dangerous, they must immediately remove the upper attachment, he should be only using his feet for a strong point, similar to rowing. He shouldn't be using his upper chest for a strong point, because it is very close to the lungs and the heart, which may be regarded a reason many bodybuilders passed away because they input heaviest weights, going through the chest.
    All The Best,
    Stay Safe !

Credit to him for what he’s achieved. I think he says he’s working with a trainer? I’m no expert, no qualifications, but my natural gut thinking is that he should lift to progress over time regardless of how many times he can end up working out. I know high reps are fine in theory, but the percentage of people who do high reps properly must be less than 10%. So miserable and painful. And if not doing properly, you’re just not gaining as much as you could with a heavier weight near to failure. As I say, maybe I’m missing something. But again, credit to anyone who keeps it up, and his past and current running is class 👍💪

It is when you stick to it and keep it off, most people fail inside 6-8 weeks, he did that weight loss over a couple of years and kept at it ;-)
