It’s amazing how much worse the in app camera use is. You showed your work. Your conclusion is correct. I expected more points but so many sets from last 5 years don’t have QR codes. It the QR codes don’t work (not redeemed but don’t go to same page on website). I did find one that pulled up the wrong set. That was probably the most interesting thing in the hours I put in to checking all the instructions. I ended up just under 650 sets and would be there but I got the sealed sets left. Is this a ploy for us to open all out sets?
LoL 😆😅 no don't open the set s just to scan the code ..just check if some one s saling the same booklet .as the unopened set s you got. Scanning is prity quick. Only. Problem for me is. Every box I have flattened. An booklet s are in each flattened box. Some in boxe s I not flattened. So going thru every box then. The.. 5 big boxe s of flattened boxe s. Next. 😊
Can second Josh pick up my kids too? This task is something I'm not too worried about.. well because unfortunately or fortunately for me.. I tossed out all my instructions... but noted.. "it would have been a total waste of energy and time" Math is hard.
Com’mon Lego.. even your rewards point system is insanely expensive. It’s only worth it if you’ve already been collecting anyway, and even for this guy, he says it doesn’t feel worth it. Might as well just go around stealing change all day on the streets
Don’t worry about it. I just did the math. If 20 points a set you would have to buy 32.5 sets to get 5$ off. With my speed champion sets being 20$. I would have to spend 650$ to get 5$ off.
I never throw away instructions or boxes. A few years ago, I even stopped throwing away empty sticker sheets and numbered bags, since there's space inside empty boxes I have to store anyway.
I suppose if you do in bulk it is hella waste of time and time that you can rather spend on something more productive like watching you tubers scanning manuals.
Josh, have you tried scanning any set twice? Any special notification pop up?Just thinking that if you sell a set you’ve previously scanned that the new purchaser can’t also scan it. One and done? Thanks!

So I would not expect to be able to scan more than one of each set, otherwise it would also be possible to scan a single set multiple times.
lol, love it! I think it is only worth if you do buy a lot of Lego. But if you can afford a lot of Lego you probably don't need free points. Hopefully the redeem points stay around for a while as I slowly open and build my old sets.
I also save everything but I’m not getting that math problem step; there’s only 2 steps for me. Scan, click earn rewards and done! Problem I have is many prints don’t have a barcode. The most points I’ve ever had is 89,000 and I was only able to use multiple VIP codes in store, not online. In store you could keep using VIP codes to make the set free, they just wanted to know how many points you wanted to use and don’t need a code.
When I saw the possibility to earn points with manuals, I thought "I knew it, that someday it would be awarded!" 😂 I scanned all my saved manuals, I got about 1100 points. Possibility will get other 1000 points with unopened sets. It is better than nothing. It's ok for small sets, but for expensive sets... 20 points are few. Regards from Portugal
Hey there! What if I added sets I own manually within LEGO Builder? Does the scanning still work? I could try for myself, but I'm at work right now and supercurious. ;)
I scanned about 30 manuals I had, which gets me to 7,320 pts! So I can get the $20 discount but for all those points I feel like you would get a better discount if you waited for birthdays or Xmas and ask for lego gift cards from family/friends lol
I just bought a $110 Lego set (the tranquil garden set). The fact that this set nets me the same amount of points as a $10 tiny set is atrocious. They need to make bigger sets worth more points and smaller sets worth less, otherwise this “rewards program” is just a giant waste of time. It’s all wrong.
Insiders weekend is already bullshit. They limited the number of people who can get discounts. Most of them gone within hours, so nobodu who went to a store could buy those sets with a discount. Really stupid
I'm having a problem and it is that I have scanned all my booklets but none of them give me the option to earn points. Has anyone experienced the same thing?
Easier scan tip - Just sign into lego on your phones browser and do not download the builder app. After that all you have to do is scan the code, open the link, and redeem the points. Like if this helped you!
only had about 12 booklets (when i moved i made the mistake of throwing them all out like an idiot) and one of them was missprinted and i couldnt scan x.x
i'am in italy and i don't have the app , i just need to be logged into my lego account and when i scan it goes direct to the register page and i just register, no maths question or any 3rd step required.
15.384 cents per booklet in the USA. Do they actually reward you for each of the same set? Does 20 of the same set, all scanned, really add up to 400 points? If so, than why not just scan the exact same code 2 million times? I don't have time for that.
What about multiples of the same set, I bought a lot of duplicates for different reasons. Can I register the multiples or am I stuck with one of each?!
Hi! Could you send me the LEGO Speed Champions McLaren Senna, the one at 0:48 into the video, in the bottom right box. I've been wanting it since such a long time, but I haven't been able to find one ever since. I hope you could do this small favour to me, thanks.... btw, keep up the good work 😃 !

This will now reinforce your “not being able to throw anything away” mindset. Nothing is ever leaving the house again!
i mean you could literally throw it away after scanning😂
Dude, thank you! I forgot they were doing this. I just registered $30 worth of points! Being a Lego hoarder has finally paid off.
Pathetic
If you don’t have the app downloaded, it will take you straight to the website.
Great video
I will probably scan my instruction booklets soon

I got an extra $5 off with my instruction books! 😅
Too bad it's from 2018 - because if it was just a few years prior I'd have about 500 booklets able to be scanned
Any unreadable codes ? I have A LOT of qr code light grey or straight blurry -_-
Only a few, really. Some took longer to scan than others.
43$ is 43$
I made 5€ and I'm mad happy lol
Problem is you have to spend way more through lego and its usually cheaper almsost everywhere else.

I have around 100 sets only was a quick processs 2k points and done 😊
The Bob Barker crack was hilarious! 🤣😂💕
I love how it’s $.20 per book Canada
sadly you only get 20 points each instruction.
Yea you get Pennies per manual. In terms of time it’s worse than working minimum wage.
You made $43 out of thin air. Not bad.
50 cent each and LEGO can get all the information that they want from me...
actually 15 cents..
Does Lego get your information if you scan QR codes? Seem kinda strange since they make toys

What about lego set that are from let just umm 2016 or something the Disney castle how do I register? That
Great video!🔥
Wait, does this mean that if you find a video or picture of the instructions of a huge set you could just scan it and get the points for yourself?
Yes!
Could that be right? If I sell a set I’ve already scanned does the next buyer get to scan it too? LEGO do you have a supercomputer tracking all this?
@mathra2523 no, you can only scan it once. If you scan it again after it's registered, it doesn't give you the option to register again.
@@snowlaina Thank you!
I'm the same kind of person, i've still got all my old set instructions... i better get to registering them...
Shit i just threw away my old instruction booklets😭😭😭
Can’t I just scan your booklet in the video and get point or the qr code is different?
im just going to look up every lego book thing so i get infinite points
Wow my qr code on my brand new set is too smudged to scan. Is there an alternative way to do this?
Nooooo I gave away all my Lego and like 50 or 100 instructuons lol
their builder app USES your in phone camera
What lego could do:
NO MATH
REDEEM IN APP
That makes it 2 steps:
1. Scan with camera or app
2. Click redeem
I hate how most of old my instructions a ripped in a box
When i scan mine it doesnt show collect points
You cant win points with sets that don't haver the que code?
Is each code unique? Could your friend use your books to register anything?
That's an interesting question...I don't see them making unique codes from sets released years ago so I'm thinking any will work
As he scanned in multiple copies of one book, could you just keep scanning one book?
lego just loves hoarding their money
Josh. Did you keep your booklets after this? If so why? Should I keep mine after registering?
Wow that's awesome
6000 extra points
And now yiu get $100 off
Which is alot of money off of a bigger set or a few battle packs

Nice I earned over 4000 points by doing this
This does force you to open all your boxes right?
I don't know what I'm doing wrong but every time I scan one it takes me to a survey???? ugh
I, too, have saved my instructions since like just past 2010.
Too late now but you can skip the math question if you remove the Lego life app.
For me it just goes straight to the browser, it does not open the Lego builder app
If you don't have the Lego builder app you can actually skip a step
You can do the scanning much quicker if you have a webcam on your PC and a QR code addon in your browser.
What would stop me from scanning the QR codes you just showed?
I’ve tried scanning my books but it barely ever works
I feel sorry for him
There was a qr scanner on the Lego add and I just used that
Ah yes I see you wearing the M&R shirt Ryan will be happy
I KNEW my 88 sets books were worth something!
Lol I feel you I got a whole tote box of box with the QR code ...... lol
Wearing MandR shirt, amazing 😂
ive earned about $20 to spend toward gringotts
Ahahah I saved ALL my instructions too
Well, I have an older lego and there are no QR codes yet

I will be 🤑
So i removed the builder app and i open de camera and scan the code. It sent me to the lego website and i do not have to do math haha.
