In the middles eigthy,... being Young. I learn and drove a ford 9000 truck. whit 13 speed gearbox, for almost one year...But Then. I decides go to university... and everithing change.... Now... Seeing this videos I whish I could be one of those calm and happy truckers.. In those wonderful lands. Congratulations....
Nice video of cars and semis climbing on the hill on that curvy, winding road on a windy day. Hawkes Bay region in New Zealand looks nice. New Zealand is a country I need to go to one day.
Thanks for this...it’s nice to watch the road and not drive it like I did last weekend. A dramatic drive...a real drive...and always a relief to get to the end. My respect for the truckers who drive it every day!
I remember well travelling over the "old track" Taupo to Napier many years before the new road put in through the deviation...... The hill road was notorious on motorists!
Muchas gracias por difundir estas imágenes y paisajes los cuales no conozco pero este programa es muy bueno, felicitaciones y un saludo muy cordial desde Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia. Sigan adelante
2001 First time I drove this road at the wheel i was 14 years old, was in a brand new Mack CH 470 hp bulk truck and trailer , early hours of the morning, the old man sleeping in passengers seat. From stag park all the way to Awatoto/Clive, Napier.
Its a dangerous road to drive even in a car even in summer causes theres alot of black ice on the rd especially coming down either end of the summit. It was even worse in the earlier years causes parts of that Napier Taupo rd didn't excist alot of it came during the 1990s .It use to be more windy and narrower and steeper.
there is nothing wrong with the road just drive to the conditions and you will be fine the majority of deaths and accidents on the Napier Taupo road is human error
Drove it twice every night, in the winter you can almost be sure it's raining somewhere through their, but it's not too bad, it's a cool road, I like it, keeps the mind busy, wish I had a dollar for every truck that quit climbing the cafe side of the summit 😆 the waipungas is the worst of it.
Tis true that there can be black ice, especially where the sun don't shine but slow down and drive to the conditions. It's an enjoyable road but some newly planted trees are beginning to block the panoramic view of Napier on the summit before heading south to Te Pohue.
Don't see any cops on this stretch of road which there's alot of accidents on this road. Quite alot of tailgating look at cars driving too close if those trucks were to brake well goodbye to the car. People use your road rules. Trucks have a long haul so be wise people be safe.
Shooting a movie soon based in NZ in the 70's. I have a truck scene and some of your truck videos are pretty good. Might have a ask you later if I can use some of your footage in my movie. Off course with your permission.
For a while I thought truckies had nicknamed it the titties until someone used it's full name over the radio one night😆 Most of the video is on the northern side heading up, just around that corner is a little straight to that bit filmed on the top, just between those two points a truck burned to ground and closed the road, there was a huge scorch mark up the side of the cutting for ages, I ended up getting diverted over the saddle rd ....that was a long night that would've blown my log book to pieces had I told the truth.😖🤐😁
Also the roads in Nz are not that straight as they have in USA and Europe. It's also easy to maneuver on bends. Imagine those 53 feet trailers in NZ. It will create chaos on small roads
Yeah axle weight laws. Though some drivers say they do have benefits such as good steering in tight turns and safer if one of the steering tyres blow out.
That is poor driving - the Truck drivers are all in the wrong gear well before the corners and the incline misjudgement or they are just Drrrr look at the wheels they are locked O.M.G

I've watched heaps of your videos. Many thanks for time an effort it takes to make them.
I'd call that an excellent days work! Esp liked those shots from a summit showing the bay.

Another top video Will, shame about the wind, the view from the summit is pretty good though.
Si volviera a nacer me gustaría ser camionero en Nueva Zelanda
Хорошие Кадры!!! Спасибо!!!
Looks like the Titis are holding up pretty good this season
So much power from the American trucks, climbing easily.
Yeah they’re quite popular with the logging and livestock transport companies. Apparently they’re good at off-road driving or something like that.
Scary if one of those big buggers up your puttutti lol. Always have respect for your fellow drivers and be patient people.
Very good Video.

Best video
Ahh bales of merino wool, we used to import a lot of that when I worked in the textile industry in Yorkshire 20 years ago.
I did wool baling for a few months just out of high school. That was hard, dirty, smelly work, but the beer afterwards was great.
Probably cross bred or half bred up there.
I think you are right.
Merci beaucoup pour les camions bisous de la France j'adore beaucoup Michel Bourgogne Nièvre France 44ans.

Does New Zealand build its own trucks ? All these twin steer cabovers look different to the ones we have in Aussie.
We assemble Internationals here but the same factory as you guys for KW and Western Star etc
Gotta love those SAR's
Nice truck

Been there for years
@@Ash-ey9oy Do you know the drivers who brings steel rolls down from auck to wellington?

Will Bishop. Any relation to Johnny Bishop who ran a mint Commer at Oparau in the sixties.
No relation mate
Why so many normal road trucks with dual front axles? Do you have some special weight regulations in NZ?
spread the load over 4 axles, better weight distribution than over three axles, cart cart 29 tone and with permits up to 35 and over
Olá! Bom dia!! Estou por aqui viu com você, cheguei pra ficar,,estamos juntos vamos somar e fortalecer nossos trabalhos. Posso contar com você
Cool video what part of the napier taupo road was this?
Looks like Napier end before summit.
The top of the Titiokura saddle

This will sound silly, but why do they have such long draw bars and gaps between trucks n trailers, dont think they do in europe?
Hi the bulk trucks can jack knife and unload without having to unhook
@@willbishoptrucksnewzealand3826 are I see now it makes sense
Also to creat correct axle grouping distances.

Maravilhoso
I drive once a week in that road..
What’s with the high vis h on the trucks
NZ trucks have to display it once they they exceed x tons

Why the double steering axles. Is it part of the law or something?
Yeah axle weight laws. Though some drivers say they do have benefits such as good steering in tight turns and safer if one of the steering tyres blow out.
That’s so the drivers can read the newspaper whilst steering with their bare feet.No problems with sure footed ness with these rigs.
