Growing up in Ann Arbor in the 90s I loved the FB Chris Floyd who was beast blocking for Tshimanga Biakabutuka and in '97 Chris Howard, Clarence Williams and a certain freshman named Anthony Thomas. Another favorite of mine was Aaron Shea who was a "gadgety" halfback type of player, lining up at FB and TE, catching the ball out of the backfield etc. Those type of players helped A-Train, David Terrell, Tai Streets, Marquise Walker score a bunch of TDs.

Why is the pick @5:40 not a penalty? It looks like the receiver blocked downfield before/during the pass. Did the ref just not see it? Surely, that is not legal.
I can think of a few reasons it might not have been called. 1. It might have been judged as a pass completed behind the line of scrimmage (Evans makes the catch juuuuuust barely past the line, and of course the officials don't have the benefit of the projected black line to help make that call). In that case, Collins could have pancaked #7 and it wouldn't have been a penalty since there's no PI on passes completed behind the LOS. 2. It looks like the guy covering Collins has his arm around him and is either trying to shove him inside (i.e., towards #7) or hold him back altogether. In either case, the likely result is either no call or defensive holding. 3. Nowadays you basically have to make a beeline for a guy and try to drive-block him to get a pick called.

I've been an avid football guy since the 90s and that was literally the most pathetic interception I have ever seen in college or pro. It was if he thought he was playing for Michigan. It was a strange move to say the least. Why would he do that ?

Why is the pick @5:40 not a penalty? It looks like the receiver blocked downfield before/during the pass. Did the ref just not see it? Surely, that is not legal.
I can think of a few reasons it might not have been called. 1. It might have been judged as a pass completed behind the line of scrimmage (Evans makes the catch juuuuuust barely past the line, and of course the officials don't have the benefit of the projected black line to help make that call). In that case, Collins could have pancaked #7 and it wouldn't have been a penalty since there's no PI on passes completed behind the LOS. 2. It looks like the guy covering Collins has his arm around him and is either trying to shove him inside (i.e., towards #7) or hold him back altogether. In either case, the likely result is either no call or defensive holding. 3. Nowadays you basically have to make a beeline for a guy and try to drive-block him to get a pick called.
