We bought bags that were supposed to be good in the sun for 180 days... we used some for the footing of our garage we haven’t finished yet, but those bags tore up in no time, what bags have you used, they look like they’re staying in good shape and holding up ... lovely job!! We were going to building an earth bag home but there’s no way we can fill them and plaster them before all he’ll breaks loose and they disintegrate...
For anyone thinking of doing Cobb just forget about it, or very simple add Portland cement, 2 shovels per wheel barrel save yourself time and effort of doing it every year... Yes I said Cobb is not reliable and it's temporary... I speak as a founding father in earth building, with experience and understanding of just about everything one can live being off grid.. Remember, Cobb is no bueno for sustainable exterior cover... Stay thirsty my friends 👍
Ya, I have mixed feelings about building a home this way… I think our home is going to be a hybrid of a few different methods… I am a big fan of SLIPFORM stone masonry
I don't know if that is the " whole point of using them" , but I suppose if I was extremely unlucky some of the posts might catch on fire? No really. The point of using them is for thermal mass
@@sheresap.8084 Thank you! One of my more recent videos I show the inside and what it's being used for currently which is a grow room for plants. This is where the thermal mass comes into play to keep the temperature regulated. Thanks again
Nice project........ Real world experience....... Hands on is the best experience always.😎👍👍
Thank you! I am starting with building garden beds first, then a little root cellar, then … thanks for the inspiration. Just get out and do it right?!
I really respect your moral to the story!!
Well done it looks lovely!! 😀

Can you do a video on county permits..?
Well, I don’t know much about them except for where I live… are you in Az?
Did you ever shoot it to see how bullet resistant it could be?
Not yet
I thought the whole point of using earth bags and cob is because its not possible to catch them on fire? Lol
