just got a 2024 188p from the same place last month drove 11 hours one way and it was worth it they are great to deal with and have more inventory to choose from love it so far . have owned two Ranger glass boats in the past and this tin boat is all i need for small local lakes
Sweet rig !!!! I ordered me a 188P afew weeks ago they told me 8 to 20 weeks delivery time which is fine. I have a jon boat I converted to a bass boat couple years ago. Iam looking forward to my 2023 Ranger 188P!!!!!
The welds I saw at the beginning looks perfect !! A lot of guys carry a separate cooler for drinks and use the built in cooler for more tackle storage. That small box is a perfect day box. I had one built for my Ranger before they started adding those to the design. Nice boat !
Thanks! I’ve got one coming in about a month. I’ll definitely be picking up one of the rod locker modification and eventually the tackle organizer! Would you guys be interested in doing a review now that you’ve had it for a bit? Maybe do an overview of some of the things that you’ve upgraded, things you like and maybe don’t like so much? Thanks guys!
the partitions in center box are only held on with a pice of aluminum angle or at least that is how it was with my 2019 198P, i just removed the screws and moved each side out just a little to accommodate 3700's, I think there were only 3 or 4 screws per side. Also on the rod box i removed the organizer in the front and rear of the box and i can easily put 30 rods in that box. Just thought i would share that. Thanks for the video! Good looking boat to by the way
Hey guys, I have a 2022 RT198, my auto pilot on my lowrance wouldn't work when I was using my ghost trolling motor even though everything else on it was working fine when powered. So I called lowrance and they knew the problem instantly. Lowrance told me that on the ranger 198, i have to turn on the power as required, but also, I have to turn on the accessory power stitch at the driver's console to get the auto pilot working properly on my ghost which is at the bow. So I tried it, and surely it worked. Overall, I'm happy with my 2022 rt198, but the craftsmanship could be better. Best wishes!
Thanks for the run through. What is the overall weight of the boat for towing ? Also I like the tandem axle setup and wheel and tire package. Question is did it come with greaseable hubs , for the bearings. Under the wheel center caps ? Also I have heard that the "cooler" really isn't insulated much. So it doesn't keep ice long. Most just use it for storage and carry a actuall cooler separately. Also I have heard some have had the weld crack up front by the trolling motor. When using a large trolling motor (?).
So it does come with the greaseable hubs. Also the cooler is great and keeping ice. I mainly use for storage now. As for the welds I haven’t noticed any yet. But I will keep an eye on it
Did you ever find out how many gallons the live well is ? How long of rods will fit in center rod holder ? How long of rods fit in side rod holder ? Especially spinning rods . Thanks
We looked a bunch of different brands. From lowe to xpress, tracker and a few others. The xpress was nice. Very nice. But the price. Was out of our range. We wasn’t happy with the hulls on the trackers. They looked very wavy on the sides and some had good size dips in them. Maybe not a big deal. But just didn’t look good
@@OneObjective I wish G3 still made their HP (High Performance) line of aluminum rigs. I own a 2004 HP180 but need to find someone to do some hull work on it to let it get up on pad better.
Not sure why they still have not made the rear boxes bigger. Great boat but i opted for a different brand because of the storage in the Ranger. Aluminum boats have come along way. I have had three glass boats but didn't want to spend 80K on a glass boat this time around. Congrats on the boat.
Well after dropping the motor and changing some weight around. All we could get was 53mph. But we will be making some prop adjustments and seeing if that will help.

Great people work with. Thanks for watching

Nice! And we hope to have some products for it soon
Lucky you. I want one but I own a 2018 tracker 195txw

That’s a good idea. Thanks for watching

I notice that place you bought it they are reasonable than other places
They were great to deal with

They definitely shallowed up those front compartments.....I use one of the back boxes in mine as a cooler and it will hold ice all day long
Yea it’s definitely shallower.

Could you do break down on reprogramming the trim? I think my RT198p could use little bit more of it.
Looks like that back deck would be good for fly fishing! 😉
😂
Was the Vexus AVX 1880/1980 an option for yall when deciding on which boat to go with?
Yea we did look at them as well. But the Vexus with no goodies was already $9,000 more. With no power poles.
Thank you
What other brands did you give a close look at other than Ranger?

Thank you! And yes they should have made some improvements on the storage compartments. There is room there to do so
I just spent 80k on my xpress .
But she's fully loaded with the 200 SHO, 2 12s @the bow 2 10s @ console & 8FT.raptors...
Boat buckles should be a standard feature. That's crazy coming from Ranger
Good stuff guys.
Thank you!
I have same boat in 2022 and runs mid 50s no jack plate
How does it run in rough big water? Meaning on a windy day in open big water?
So far its been good. It can be a wet ride at times. But we have ran a few other aluminum boats over the years. And this one does way better
Just curious are you still liking the 198 and how does it ride thanks
I have a 2023 188p why does it not come with a water pressure gauge and a voltage gauge ?
Can u guys do more video of the boat in water please
All an all nice boat
My motor won’t trim up as much as I would like. My boat is a a 2022 RT198P and it came with the the ratchet tie downs.
Sweet boat! I know it’s a little personal but I’m in the market for a new boat, about how much that rig run?
Use a molded rubber on your transom saver. That way it stays on it and a rag looks tacky.
Good review, definitely better than the resy
nice boat
Thank you!
Ranger’s website indicates the max recommended HP for the RT188P is 115 but you have a 150 on yours. Why? 3:42
This isn't a 188p. It's the 198p. 188 is an 18 ft boat. This is the 19 ft boat.
Its a horn.
Is there enough room to mount a hot foot on a 198P?
Depends on how tall you are. For me I’m 6’1 and there is no room
I'm confused which one of you actually own the boat?? I kept hearing we're going to do this and that. Just asking.
Got a link on how to reprogram the trim?
That video will be coming soon
I would like to know to do that reprogram as well.
The color combo I was looking at 188. Cry. I didn't wanna pay 46k though
I can fully understand
A 19 footer should have a 175 hp capability, at least. 51 mph is not good for that level of boat.
I seen test on it claimed they got 57 mph
Well after dropping the motor and changing some weight around. All we could get was 53mph. But we will be making some prop adjustments and seeing if that will help.
150, not a 115
