This will remain the best demo of this synth on YT or any other platform! Can't imagine how much work must have gone in designing the sounds and then sequencing, modulating and recording them. Funny how many comments just focus on the FX used. Owning a MS-404 myself I am only at 0.5% of what you managed to reveal about the sonic possibilities of this synth. The MS-404 seems to have been made slightly irrelevant through Doepfer's own "Dark Energy" synths, but for now, I am unwilling to part with this unassuming but versatile rack module.
Nice demo, I love the way this video demonstrates the sound possibilities in real musical use, instead of just turning knobs while a sequence is playing. Thumbs up!
This is an amazing video but old comments and info on the video seem to have been removed for some reason. There is that incredible build up to 2:52 and then these beautiful chords come in. That is a Jupiter 6 making those gorgeous chords. This was in his info before.
i would like to know what efx units he uses... that is some seriously good reverb and delay happening there. i am guessing that the fx and clever multi tracking have brought this little mono to life. incredible work.. the track is a little masterpiece. the engineering however, is near genius.
I own one of these. Does anyone have any recommendations on a book for learning how to program all the classic sounds like SyntheticMachines? Obviously they are a master synthesist (especially for classic timbre), I'd just like a sort of freshman coarse ya know? How about that synth cookbook? Would that pair nicely with this synth?

Do you still have your 404? I have one too. It's really underrated and still rather unknown.
Brilliant song with really creative sounds! Best MS-404 demo in existence! I'll never part with mine.
YOU ARE BORN TO BE EPIC.
