I have met Shakeel Ahmed Sir few times. Around 1988 when I was a student at Mysore, Ramakrishna Hegde was CM. Shakil Ahmed Sir was intelligence officer. We had a hunger strike against then VC Rudrappa. Shakil Ahmed Sir used to come everyday in Yamaha RX to us. We did not know that he was police officer. We thought he was from press. He was ever smiling, friendly and down to earth. Very honest officer.
When he died we all felt very sad, as if qe lost a family member. I still visualise him riding yamaha and smiling. Great person.
When police officers died in the ambush their bodies were brought to KR Hospital mortuary. I remember the crowd and the tears and the sadness. Great heroes.
Our MLAs MPs and people should write to CM and PM and see that Shakil Ahmed sir's name is made to known to every corner of Karnataka. As Shivram sir said a lesson should be included in police academy. He is a perfect role model for the youth. He gave his life for our land and our people We miss you Shakil Ahmed Sir. Big salute to you sir.

A big Salute and tonnes of respect to all the brave & honest officers involved. I still remember the dreadful day from my childhood from mysuru when several officers were martyred. It was a household topic for several days in our mysuru. Thanks for the detailed Non self centric details, very inspiring. Hoping we get to see a movie made and this also deserves to be preserved in high school text books.

Dear Mr Shivaram, I have many very senior police officers many of them (who were DGPs of the state) as family friends, where you score over others is your humility, respect to fellow colleagues, humanity, concern for others , your selfless attitude is something am very proud of. The state needs such dedicated police officers, am apalled to learn that Late Mr Shakeel Ahmed is not given a Shourya award, very sad. He has made an indelible impression in everyone's minds.
