I had the opportunity to solder the active element from the back side, it was so much easier! Lol, can't believe the near dozen I've done not realizing it till now...🤯

That's the one thing I dislike about this board, the VTX solder pads are not configured for a U.fl.. I hate cutting the VTX antenna coaxial...🙁

That's cool. I have a crazybee board in my rekon3 build and the VTX sux. I haven't tried putting a ufl on yet but do have a few I bought in anticipation.
I would like to know your experiences, please share. I have done, don't quote me, 8 of them and just found the active element goes through. I think I just did them all in the quad and never paid enough attention. I appreciate your feedback...👍🏻🍻👊🏻
Been too chicken to try. It was my first build and didn’t want to roach it, but have built several since. But it’s probably time I tried. Worst case I put an eachine micro vtx in it

I just finished disabling the VTX in a Mobula6 that had too small of output. Going to maybe order a Reaper nano vtx...🤷♂️

At this past race, nearly everyone was using the TrueRC 1 gram nano antenna. I couldn't see paying $20 for one antenna. So, I got two Lollipop nanos for the same price - they are 1.6 grams each though. I really did not see any others there.. Please come back and tell me of your experience doing this method...👍🏻🍻👊🏻

It helped by double. I changed it in my MobyPick video. I debated it until I finished real world testing. For the racing I am doing, it is irrelevant. I have a video of it being done and another video of the real world test...👍🏻🍻👊🏻
Do you think it's possible for me to do this on the diamond f4 elrs of the mobeetle? It has a pad like that in the corner, but it has a different shape, would I have to put a smaller connector instead of the UFL? (I don't remember the name of the connector which is similar to the UFL but smaller), it has the possibility of soldering through the active element on the back, could you help me, the stock antenna is very bad, I have problems flying from a walk from the house to another
You can solder a 12.9mm wire to the active pad (the other 3 are ground). Unfortunately, I have no interest in the Diamond board, HappyModel discontinued it so fast.

Cool video 👍.. some nice information to know.. Q.. I flew my mobula7 battery to low.. it fell about 3 feet.. put a new battery in and it has lost bind.. and won't bind back.. any advice. Thanks.. I think dead fc..
What receiver? Did you open it up and look for broken wires or cracked components?
These videos are really good. I’d like to do this with my Moblite7 but can’t figure out if there’s a spot to fit the u.fl on the board! Have you tried this with a DiamondF4 board? Cheers
The DimondF4 only has a single pad for the VTX antenna, the U.fl needs 3 points of contact. I appreciate your support...👍🏻🍻👊🏻
@@propsoff True. Could you conceivably run the sheath/ground line to a ground elsewhere? You'd still need a place to physically attach the thing but would that make sense in terms of the connections?

I have done what your talking about, however, it was a receiver antenna direct solder - no U.fl... I'll look for that video..

My antenna broke off a few days ago, and I sodered another one on. But I’m still not getting a good transmission like before. I’m thinking of getting this antenna you’re using. But it looks heavy, is it? Do you have a link on that antenna?
It adds about 1.5 grams, not a big deal really.. Its better than the stock wire.

Do you know the orientation for caddx vista? I soldered a new UFL and i'm losing signal within a few feet.
I believe the same happened to me. Got the U.fl connection good to go, but 15-30 feet the video was terrible. The only explanation I can come up with is the Vista overheated during the time it was powered, antennaless. It's trash now..

Yes.. Due to the Vista's failure to go more than 30 feet, it was replaced. The U.fl replacement was perfect, however, seems the damage of overheating was done.
When is the propsoff edition FC coming?

Good morning sr, I have a question, do you know anything about the larva x? I have been flying this for a wile and this morning I went to fly some packs and it armed and when I gave it throttle it the motors stop and it acts like it's not armed I wait a few minutes and plug it in and I get the beeps arm it go to take off and again the motor stop don't know what it could be.
I also checked my batteries they are 4.20 a cell so there good. I have a dx9 and it's 60% could it be some kind of fail safe?
I feel like this is where an air soldering station comes into play. But I like this way cause I'm cheap, so I'll be doing this once my antenna breaks off
