FINALLY! Someone with a REAL Step by Step how to paint something video for everyone. THANK YOU Ashley for EXPLAINING what you are doing and why. Unless you have a "natural talent", teaching art is MORE than just "watch me do it", you need to communicate WHY you are doing what your doing to help your students gain a deeper understanding of the tricks and techniques YOU are using. Although these may change from artist to artist, being able to learn a handful of these various techniques from different artists, and make them my own, has vastly improved my painting skills. Your approach is more like the late Bob Ross' method who took the time to explain the techniques he was using rather than just show you he can paint a picture over music. I can't wait to see your other videos!

Wow! When that pink came in it really added depth to that scene. It went from a flat painting to a picture of the ocean. I like the way you had to wait until the sun started setting in order to show us what you were adding with that. Nice!

Glad I could help!
Thank You you are a very engaging teacher
Glad you think so!
Thank you for having a dirty pallet. Thank you for being on the Jersey shore. I was going to attempt to paint a picture my son took but I blew it up for fear of ruining the feeling. I'm going to watch again, you have very good instruction and really beautiful results.
Yes, just do it no matter the obstacles or fear. Trying is better than doing nothing at all. I hope you have lots of fun painting!
My aunt loves the beach and is redecorating her bathroom to be beach themed, asked me to paint a beach for it, was having trouble with the waves and sand underwater. This helped a lot! Thank you
I'm glad this video helped you paint a special painting for you aunt. :)
Beautiful I also paint a lot of beaches! Congratulations
Wonderful
That's such a big help, the part about glazing over the dry areas. I've been trying to do an area wet in wet and it's soooo time consuming. I shall use your method on my next seascapes. Thanks so much. :)
I'm glad this video helped you! :)
Wow - you made this looks fairly straight forward. simple enough for me to have a go
I hope you come paint with me!
Bonjour, La présentation de ces vagues est vraiment captivant, (Bretagne en France), bien à vous
What a great lesson, taught on site! When you said beginners should stop (at the waves), I felt a little discouraged because that's where I am, but I think it is good advice, because as you said, we've learned quite a bit just at that point. I look forward to making the complete painting!
Feel free to keep going if you want to. Thanks for painting with me :)
