It's the Fandom Menace. The far-right wing within the SW fandom who are propped up by people like Geeks + Gamers and Doomcock like Alex Jones and his cult to attack anyone and anything associated with new Star Wars. Their toxic self-entitlement is childish and pathetic and they truly believe that they own the franchise and thus should dictate it, they want new generations to only see Star Wars as they view it, they can't comprehend that in a world inhabited by nearly 8 Billion people all capable of independent though and free will, that they would all have different opinions on what Star Wars is to them.
It's insane, these people just enjoy tearing anything down, including going out of their way to personally attack, bully, degrade people just because they only want to see Star Wars how they originally viewed it. Anything that is outside of that scope is somehow woke, against their beliefs, abhorrent, not how Star Wars or any form of art/entertainment/work of fiction should be and will strive to keep on attacking until they get their way and claim to be responsible for shaping it in a "positive way."
They are a cult, plain and simple and make the fandom as a whole look terrible by association because the vocal minority is what most people will see. It is so sad to see people who love Star Wars and want to participate in its creation, who play a character only to be torn down so harshly for no reason at all.
It makes people resent the franchise, no wonder almost all of the Sequel Trilogy actors reflect on it negatively and want nothing to do with it currently. All they were ever faced with was this onslaught of hate and negativity drowning out anything positive. People will rightly be scared to be associated with Star Wars because of the reputation of having to confront this.
This is the reality of working on Star Wars, it's a soul crushing thing that is so heavily scrutinised in every way to unimaginable degrees, that brings out the worst in people when it's meant to do the opposite, the level of entitlement borders on unhealthy obsession over a work of fiction that doesn't belong to then at all, they have no say over it, they honestly don't even deserve what they get.
The Fandom Menace especially will always be pathetic, they don't just target Star Wars, they target every other work of fiction as well, it's just Star Wars is how they got started and they are very much always continuously targeting it.

This comment is targeted to some of the people who commented here...
Let's imagine you read an article talking about a child that has been beaten to death by his father for not doing his homeworks...
    What would be your reaction?
-Would you say "well, he didn't do his homeworks he had it coming!"?
-Would you say "hey i don't like the implication of this article that because i tell my kids to do their homeworks then it means that i am a child beater too!"?
-Would you say "It's all the teacher's fault for givin the kid homeworks to do!"?
-Would you say "huh huh don't believe it happened, it's a lie invented by children so they will never be given homeworks anymore"?
    ... No?
Then why some of you people here are reacting exactly like that when you are told about an actress being harrassed online?
You think she's a bad actress (the kid didn't do his homeworks)? No problem but that doesn't make her deserving to be harrassed (beaten to death)...
You just don't like her but never said anything racist about her (you make your kids do their homeworks too)? No problem, this video is not talking about you being racist (nobody is accusing you of beating your kids).
You think Disney/Lucasfilm gave her a bad character (the teacher gave the kid homeworks)... That doesn't mean they are responsible for the people harrassing the actress (just like the teacher is not responsible for the death of the kid).
You think it's a lie so they can deflect any criticism? Okay... so why didn't it happen when the Book of Boba Fett was heavily criticized? Why didn't it happen when Episode IX was heavily criticized? Why didn't it happen when Thor 2 (another Disney product) was criticized? Or when the Eternals was criticized? Or when Wandavision was criticized? The truth is that they talk about racism only when racism is involved... I'm so tired of this rhetoric.
Through all the ups and downs of any franchise whether it be Star Wars, Marvel, DC - we're all just trying to have a good time, escape either the mundane or hardships of the real world, and a huge part of a fandom community should be respect among one another and the welcoming of all people from fans to the talent involved.
And this grotesque ignorance and petty rage just taints the whole experience. We don't have to like or agree on everything, but as far as I'm concerned if you can't accept that the Star Wars universe is for everyone or that fans are entitled to enjoy what they like, then YOU are not welcome.
If you really are a Star Wars fan and believe in what the themes and values of the story stood for from the very beginning then you don't resent other human beings based on their gender, race, or sexual orientation.

Actually, that's not true, they are the core fans. All of these diversity "liberal woke" films & shows have been flopping horribly. It's really bad.
If ppl would stop listening to a narrative & actually listen to the other side, you will see that the biggest men labeled as these toxic fans fully explain the issues. They do so in great detail. It ruins continuity, & established characters and their is an agenda. I don't want to be chosen because I'm black, I want to be chosen cause I'm talented.
And Finally, I don't think we should accept these hand-me-downs characters. These gender & race swap characters are insulting since we have deep established blk characters with decades of story and Hollywood refuses to use them & will just make Tony Stark blk.

I say it is not racist, because Black Panther basically did the same thing, and I have not really heard anyone calling the maker of that movie racist. Though, I think Kill Monger wanted to use the resources of Wakanda to overthrow oppressive governments, but some people believe he wanted to commit white genocide. His plan to free suppressed blacks with Wakandan spies and weapons was always bullshit, to expose the country and essentially trap them in aworld war where every nation that got hit by their spies would come after Wakanda. Bomb them back into the Stone Age, steal their technology and probably bring slavery back.
He never cared about anything but his revenge he straight up tells it to T’Chala and the audience in his last fight becoming king was meaningless all he wanted was to destroy a Wakanda.

Hence people were more than happy to adore the Empire despite the atrocities it commits. Add a Person of color to the Empire, And suddenly it ruins their adoration of it cause there's "Diversity" in it and it's no longer their favorite fantasy Nazi replacement... Ignoring that the Empire are the villains and this is a fantasy world.
But is just overall amazingly stupid how fans love Fantasy YET people of different color and sex are apparently the hard part to swallow in a setting or "unrealistic" or take them out of the story, which says more about the people complaining that they don't wanna see other races.
The Fandom Menace especially will always be pathetic, they don't just target Star Wars, they target every other work of fiction as well, it's just Star Wars is how they got started and they are very much always continuously targeting it.

i was born in the 80’s. I remember whenever watching any badass action film you always wanted to see badass women too. Ripley, alice from resident evil, that underworld lady, xena warrior princess, the long kiss goodnight(just to name a few). I can’t remember anyone complaining except for the joke of 80lbs women beating up men but people still went to see them, especially men. This generation & some weirdos are fighting a fight that doesn’t exist. We like these properties but we don’t own them & if you don’t like it then don’t watch it. It’s just my opinion but the internet is the problem. Some people are cruel & miserable. The internet gives anyone & everyone a voice but a lot of people can’t handle that power or responsibility. It’s the same things with guns, they’re ideal for protection but everyone can’t handle the responsibility of having one. it’s 2022 & racism is way out of control in the united states. You would think that after everything america has done to black people that racism would be far from people lives as a way to move on how so many non blacks claim they want. Yet when you watch the news or hear nonsense like this is shows that nothing has changed & everything is the same if not worse. They're cool iconic badass characters. Now, they don't write cool compelling badass characters. Rey from Star Wars is not that. She could've been but they wrote her so lazily. She's just a badass right off the bat who beats everybody with no training, end of story. That is why all these adaptations are failing economically and generally have very bad reviews and the public does not like it, because for lovers of the original works, history and cinema this is nonsense If you want to be woke, all good, there is not a problem about it, but be original and do an interesting good deed that is liked regardless of the person's sexuality, color or gender.

But if Disney would focus more on actual good story telling, continuity, & plot instead SJW hiring practices then actors like her would stop getting flamed up. Disney is just churning out projects on an assembly line for content on Disney Plus.
The actors suffer for it. If ppl would actually listen to crews working they would see how bad it is over there. Disney hired 1st, write plot & story 2nd,. The scripts are changed daily & most takes are one shot which is why the dialogue is so bad and you get an inquisitor born in a galaxy far far away using AAVE or AF-AM short words such as "Ain't" instead of "are not."
