    I‘m very curious about wAP ax release … and btw.. when will the MikroTik iOS app work again with RouterOS 7.13.x ? Since this release Capsman is under a new menu which the App does not now.

    Disappointed to see the trend of still continuing with passive PoE though. It's 2024.

      Yeah, it’s annoying.. I thought I could’ve powered my ONT with a PoE extractor but I can’t cause the hPA AX3 still has only passive PoE out

      Passive? It's Gigabit, doesn't that make it active, even though it's on their 24V levels or less?

    • @shaunclarke94
      @shaunclarke94 4 месяца назад

      @@returnedinformation1040 it's passive because it's not 802.3 compliant and there's no negotiation for power delivery.
      You can absolutely have passive even with gigabit. Mikrotik even sell and supply passive gigabit injectors.

      @RenzoRosales_FL 4 месяца назад

      @@returnedinformation1040it's based on power requirements, not speed

    • @iamyulianto2
      @iamyulianto2 4 месяца назад

      @@returnedinformation1040I think you need to learn more about PoE. Gigabit doesn't make it active. Nowadays almost all modern switches and routers are using the standard 802.3af/at that are really "Active", means there are negotiation of power between PSE and PD.

    I realy miss CAP tunneling to CAPSMAN. When are you going to implement this feature again?
    For me, it was a key feature in mikrotik WiFi.

    • @ChrisNicholson
      @ChrisNicholson 4 месяца назад

      Because you didn't understand VLANs and access ports?
      Or didn't notice the major performance and speed hit of having everything go back to the router?
      What exactly made it so wonderful?
      I even left out how it relied on that horrible radio driver that was so big riddled that even Mikrotik would cop to the fact that they were not the right choice for client serving wifi.

    • @schweini413
      @schweini413 4 месяца назад +1

      @@ChrisNicholson Because you can tunnel over routed networks. Not just L2. I am pretty familiar with VLANs.
      Other vendors are capable of this function.
