You know, I see these videos using a word with "est" at the end of it. SmartEST. QuickEST. WildEST.Or in this case... dumbEST. And a lot of the time, I come out of the video thinking "Eh, that was [insert word here], but not the [insert word here]est thing I've seen of this." I did not have that thought this time. This was incredible.
well for it to work it needs to go like this in a row 0.8 x 0.8 x 0.8 x 0.8=0.4096 so roughly 41% chance to pull it off. and if he ever gets a max heal he needs to do it AGAIN.
It had better be for the obscene amount of time it would take to get to level 99, considering that 99% of enemies stop giving any Star Points at all around level 30.
@@danielgonzalez-vm5lj In TTYD, you always get at least one star point per encounter. I think Amazy Dayzees still give star points up to about maybe level 50-60, but after that you're better off just stomping goombas for the next 3000 years.
@@toricon8070 That depends on why it worked. If it worked consistently, or in a way that could be controlled, it becomes unabashedly clever... which means that in a way it ceases to be stupid. On the other hand, if it worked only because of unexpected or uncontrollable outside forces, your synopsis is correct.
If this were in person and it weren't explained to me and I was oblivious to the peril strategy, I'd probably blurt out "What the heck are you eating all those poison mushrooms for? You trying to kill yourself?" I see the wisdom in the strategy by using the stat boosts given at low HP to your advantage, though.
I love how this was all executed perfectly. Perfectly left Mario with 1 HP, used all of your FP in a single turn, and killed Bonetail with two exactly 100 damage moves.

This is so dumb, it's amazing :D Though I noticed you had both P-Up D-Down and Defend Plus equipped, wouldn't a single Power Plus have the same effect for 1 less BP? Or maybe you were trying to use all 99 that way.
I equipped Defend Plus to ensure that all three of Bonetail's attacks do the same damage. Normally (with P-Up D-Down and without Defend Plus) they all do 9 damage if I don't guard. The bite cannot be guarded whatsoever (9 damage), and the breath must be guarded so I don't get hit with a deadly status effect (8 damage). Since the breath pierces defense, Defend Plus does nothing against it, but it makes the bite and stomp deal 1 less damage (don't guard the stomp).
One thing I think would be neat is an expansion to the Glitzville arena. After beating the game, you would unlock a new set of difficult arena matches to fight through. Things like tougher versions of earlier bosses or fighting several at once, like a match where you have to fight all 3 dragons in a row, Grodus and Magnus von Grappel at the same time, a Doopliss fight where he imitates a fully leveled Mario the whole time and you have to beat every partner before you can damage him...stuff of that nature.
This does a fantastic job at demonstrating how inefficient badge stacking attacks is. XD I fought bonetail with 5 max HP and a huge stash of power rushes for significantly more damage at a much cheaper cost. (No, I can’t super guard worth a damn, the danger mario is just that OP)
Its so fuckin expensive tho where are yall getting money besides lumpys green ass bought like 7 I was maxed out and didint have enough coins to change my stays so I could be in danger like wtf
seeing one of these set-ups where you win with 1 hp and no fp isn't that crazy seeing one where you have those kinds of max stats however is definitely a new one also, even at a 20% chance those full heals are kinda crazy... make me wonder how long you could stall a fight with this set-up
It's been a lonnnng time since I played this. Why does power bounce take 93 FP? Also what does stacking them do? I'd assume increases the strength but I'm a bit lost and missing something somewhere 😅.
I just realized something, I'm not a game designer, nor will I ever be, my ideas were all terrible and honestly, I'm tempeted to get rid of my ideas, I'm not a game designer, so my ideas were useless....

Who's gamer?
Dunno. I’m FourFun.
So dumb that it ends up looping back around to being GENIUS.
Entering the battle at 1HP: Broke
Relying on a ~41% chance of dealing 175 damage to yourself in a single turn to get to 1HP: Woke
Should be pinned comment
that one audience member who threw you a mushroom, LOL
Toad: “Can I offer you a Mushroom in these trying times?”
He need sum shroom
A heart or rock would've been funnier.
Imagine going through all that trouble to have exactly 1 HP and then BAM! Trolled by the audience.
Four minutes of a dude trying to bring himself to the brink of death for content
I like it
20% huh? All in all I'm shocked to see so many max heals with poison shrooms

My real surprise is that it worked out perfectly, managing it upon using his LAST poison mushroom
This is usually the strategy I use for bonetail.
3:37 LOL, The Toad in the audience offering a regular Mushroom!
Neat strategy! Thanks for uploading!
Alternate title: Mario poisons himself for 3.5 minutes straight
Half of the dumb-ness of this is just how stacked a level 99 Mario is in this game.
Lets be honest its a mario game after all, if you really take the time to level to 99 the game can at least assure you a victory
It had better be for the obscene amount of time it would take to get to level 99, considering that 99% of enemies stop giving any Star Points at all around level 30.

@@rmzing It took me a couple years of off and on grinding to max out Mario's level on my main file. Those 1-2 Star Point fights were brutal!😂
That sure is a strategy
This whole time I was thinking "Man, just eat some trial stew, Jesus," but forgot that that also eats all your FP. This strat is cursed 10/10
its been a long time since i've had such a strong urge to utter the phrase "...but why?"

Imagine what’s going through Goombella’s head while Mario is doing all this to himself and somehow still winning.
Mario later then had a terrible case of the runs.... some say he's still not the same since.
Didn't even know about a heal chance for poison mushrooms.

Clearly optimal.
That is a hilarious strategy. Good luck ever normally getting to level 99 after level 50 though. That would take the rest of your life

Ahh, I see!
I wish there were mods for old games like this, like imagine if someone made expansions for this game all on their own.

What an over the top, overly dramatic way to absolutely eviscerate Bonetail. Well done mate

"BAM BAM BAMA BAM Yeah cool put the poison riiight into my Veigns AGHHH" but its in Paper Mario TTYD
Do you have to be level 99 for this to work? I imagine you could pull something like this off at a lower level so long as you have the required bp.
Pretty much.

i never clicked on a notification so fast, love your videos! :)
So when someone says 80/20 chance they really mean a 1/4 chance because that max heal from those poison shrooms were absolutely 1/4 occurrence.
I wish I could get myself to level 99 without cheats.
Why would you wish that...
it nit worth to even be at lv99 everything pretty much die in one hit and you have even more HP than any enemy in the game so it really boring

Some badges allow you to stack them, making them more powerful. However, it then makes it cost more FP.
...you know I always wondered what happens if you eat a poison mushroom with the poison removal badge...
Feeling Fine? It still does damage, you just don't get the Poison Status
Hmmm, seems safe enough...
Oh great, now I have a way to put my 190 FP and 185 HP to use.
Masochism for the inside.
3:43 Look at all these stars! Satisfying!
If it works, it's not stupid.
Is it even possible to get more than 1 power bounce?
Are these hacks or is there some post-game secret that lets you go past 50/50/30 and have more than 10 inventory items?
Wrong game. Only 64 doesn't allow you to go past 50/50/30 and 10 items.
Or just make your hp 5/5 with meluvlee below rougeport
Would not Trial Stew have worked just fine for this purpose?
Yes but this strategy is supposed to be dumb.
@@Koopatrol Okay yeah fair enough. Both a silly thing to be doing with so much HP and a very strange way to get there
Why does power bounce cost 94 fp?? I thought each additional badge just added the cost to the first? Is it multiplicative??
Each additional copy doubles the FP cost and in Power Bounce's case, raises the attack power by 1
Mmmmmmmmmbruh
