      @@WheretoNextOverland No, unfortunately, we didn't, We did camp at the end right before the last part of Chicken Corners, which was a great spot. Then, the next day, we headed out and did two of the Moab Jeep trails before heading south. There are soo many great trails and areas to explore in Utah it is hard to pick which ones to do when being limited to a 2-week trip down to that area. I would really like to get back down there for more trails.

    Excellent place to wrap the trip up. May want to put a little EDC kit together with a small flashlight that you can grab for those quick walks. The gazelle tents are pretty nice. I have an older T3 and it’s pretty spacious.

      Thanks! And yeah .... you're right about the flashlights. Haha. Funny thing is, we have probably 4 flashlights stored in the Lexus at all times .... we're just always too dumb to remember to grab one before we go explore dark places. 🤣
      Oh, and we JUST picked up a Gazelle T3 at Expo PNW last week. Really excited to put it to use!

    Amazing trip! We are almost there. Got most of our basics to do some yellow posts areound here. Tent, sleeping bags(sadly not as big as yours😅), lantern, air compressor, one burner stove, stainless steel 24oz kettle, table n chairs and one 2wd mazda cx-5 on all weather tires, lol. Hence yellow post camp spots that are easy to get to. Just need the insulated air mattress and are ready to go. Im saving up to get a 4wd truck or suv so we can do more advanced stuff and then just build from there based on need. Your channel was my first dive into overlanding and really love your content. You got the ball rolling for us. 😊

      Sounds like you have the basics covered. I always say starting with the basics, getting out there and camping a few nights, and then learning what gear you actually need is the way to go!
      You'll be surprised how many amazing dispersed campsites you can make it to with your 2WD CX-5.
      Once you get out on your first trip, let us know how it went .... and if we can help answer any questions, feel free to ask!

      @WheretoNextOverland thank you! Do you think i should still air down on all weather tires, commuter tires, for flat dirt roads that go to yellow posts?

    • @WheretoNextOverland
      @WheretoNextOverland  11 месяцев назад +1

      @dvsmike airing down probably isn't necessary, although even a few psi less can make a difference in ride comfort. If it's smooth graded gravel or dirt roads I wouldn't worry about it. If the road is rougher or rockier, you might drop a few PSI just for comfort. If the road has a lot of sharp rocks, airing down can help avoid a puncture as well.
      But given you're on all seasons and (I assume) don't have a ton of sidewall to work with, I wouldnt recommend you go too low.

    Great stuff I love it out there! Are you still running with the AHC suspension or swapped it out?

    • @WheretoNextOverland
      @WheretoNextOverland  9 месяцев назад

      Yep, still running AHC and it has been great, even north of 260K miles. The only AHC related maintenance we've done is checked / adjusted neutral pressures a few times to make sure they are in spec (via Techstream) and replaced the OEM rear coils with King Springs, which was necessary to keep the AHC functioning properly when we added the ~200lb drawer system to the back and are fully loaded on trips

    • @user-fs5jo6im3j
      @user-fs5jo6im3j 9 месяцев назад +1

      My 2004 LX still has the AHC at 205,000 it is a super robust system. I think most just dont understand it. I would definitely repair it if any part ever failed. I do work at a Lexus dealership which makes my repair cost much less.@@WheretoNextOverland

      @WheretoNextOverland  9 месяцев назад

      @@user-fs5jo6im3j totally agree, although I'm curious .... does the Lexus dealership you work at ACTUALLY know how to maintain AHC? In my experience, it seems like most dealerships don't understand the system very well and just start replacing things that probably don't need to be replaced

      We are like everyone else, we have techs here I would not let change my oil and a few that I would let do anything in fact in the coming months I will have the engine pulled to reseal the upper oil pan which leaks a bit. While there new motor and trans mounts, exhaust manifolds and probably the starter. The tech I use is the most meticulous I have ever seen. He is a machine and likely makes well over $200k per year.@@WheretoNextOverland
