China is going through the same situation as India. Manufactary is constantly being halted due to muti waves of the covid. Property market is nearly dead . People are spending less and more carefully with their money. Further more, China's zero covid policy is backfiring herself, hurting the economic growth and violating individual rights. No one knows when this will end after nearly 3 years long waiting. Maybe we're going to live in a very different world than we were .

As a Malaysian...somehow it's as if I'm looking in the mirror, though not as bad, we are heading towards more or less the same direction...concentration of wealth through systemic corruption and failure of government, tyranny and rigging of the markets to the detriment of the foundations of that very economy.

Speaking of Asian China is on lockdown again due to Covid including BA5 omicron sub variant and because the cases are rising and spiking again why can’t you do the math when I hear that the Covid vaccine spray and Covid pills could always work to slowdown the Covid spread and shutdown covid pandemic for good but this covid pandemic is not even close to be finished it’s not even close to be going away absolutely not we have to go back to social distancing and masking also monkeypox are spreading everywhere so we all gonna need to have more monkeypox vaccines to be available and to have enough monkeypox vaccines for monkeypox to go away for good

The heading of the so called documentary is misleading. The world knows India is still the fastest growing economy, with record exports, record factory and farm production. India's huge forex reserves are helping her with regards to imports etc.
All the economic and development activities are fully back on track.
Even the IMF report says very clearly that India is the only country which has ZERO chances of going into recession.
I don't understand why you guys still paint a negative picture of my country.

I have a question, when Delta happened last year, there was no quarantine. Was that a livelihood issue? Can't have livelihood when you have such catastrophic loss of life. The issue is that COVID has revealed all of the fault lines in these policies, lack of investment in systems of healthcare, livelihood, housing, etc. The overlay of the pandemic only uncovered it. What a "return to normal" has meant is the return of the wealthy living off the labor of the poor, while providing them nothing in support of their survival or thriving. There's been no structural redesign. There's been huge transfer of wealth as the masses have been distracted by meeting the needs on their existential survival.
What COVID revealed was that the government which is there to serve the people. Did not. For example, in announcing quarantine, government could have negotiated with transport companies to help move people back to villages in a more orderly and timely fashion. Use public transportation to support that. They chose not to. Employers who now need these workers, go back to the villages to recruit workers. But they don't want to invest, only want to see upside profits. So don't blame lockdown or the pandemic.

Xi Jingping is the cause of this pandemic. He suppressed news when the Covid first found in WuHan. I don’t know if the initial Covid was released on purpose or by accident. Looking back, Hong Kong was having massive demonstrations - maybe CCP and Xi JinPing was trying to use the virus as excuse to crack down the demonstration in HK. The virus finally got out of hand and spreader to the whole world.

This documentary is misleading and focuses on the crises during covid. Even New York with all its health infra was a shambles during its covid peak. India as of today is the fastest growing large economy. Exports are robust and capital investments and infra push is gaining momentum. Any way one can't expect fair treatment for the Indian story from foreign media especially a Singaporean channel.
